I was so impressed with the petco by me. When i bought my last betta there, they asked what kind of tank and how long it had been set up, etc. Fish always look good at that one, too. Someone knows what they're doing.

They'll get anything that holds water than a proper tank
its like they will never give up no matter how easy and cheap it gets to buy a proper tank
I won't be surprised if companies start making "fish tanks" in different shapes like tiny tails did with "mice enclosures".

I worked at Walmart when it had live fish. Once one was returned we basically had to toss it. This Chiclid was returned because the person bought it as a coy and it was being a bully. I bought the fish and bought a fish bowl for while I was working. Then some friends who knew more about fish came back there and told me that the bowl wouldn't do. I knew that, but didn't know all it needed. I at least added declorination. They took it home and he lived in a big tank for a long while.

Thats what quarantine tanks are for, i used to pass plants and fish through quarantine if its a established tank. Its not that had to build your own tanks but if its just for quarantine just use cheap plastic tubs

My niece and nephew don’t bang at the glass in a tank in fact they try to prevent it. He even hit another kid at an aquarium.
I don’t really like my job and I watch these videos on my lunch they help me get through Monday. you’ve inspired me to upgrade my angelfish pair from a small 5 gallon to a 20 tall. I didn’t know better and should’ve done my research now I’m gonna do my best to get into this hobby and educate others. My fish are happy now and so am I.

I once overheard a man and woman arguing about the betta they were letting their daughter get. The man insisted on getting at least a 5 gallon and a heater and his wife was becoming absolutely livid with him that the betta bowl was more than enough for a betta. Couldn’t help but butt in and tell him how right he was as someone who at the time had a 75g with just bettas.

Dope. I’m teetering on the edge of getting another betta, I had one for 4 years in my ten gallon. I’m convinced shortfin is the way to go.
I legitimately have never had my kids bang on my tanks or the tanks of the pet stores! It is not hard as a parent to make sure your kid knows expectations!
I know put a screen in the hole in the toilet then it can be instant water changes without losing fish.
We met a lady who was absolutely, %100 positive that beta fish absolutely love "the smaller the tank the better" . Then proceed to get the 1 gallon that has a mesh thing in the middle to fit 2 betas and said they'd absolutely love that because they supposed to be in small spaces. I had to leave before I had an aneurysm

3:24 that is the Mayaguez Resort and Casino I went there a few days ago. Every 3 months we go. There is actually 3 cichlids. The yellow and 2 blues. I love them but there is a shoot ton of algae. They have 2 canister filters. But still don't do water changes. The water is crystal clear and they have a heater. There is a lot of algae becuase they are in the lobby and in there there is only one wall the rest is glass. There is light coming in at all directions about 12 hours. They have a heater because there is 2 a/c.
These people break my heart. How can they treat those poor fish that way. I've spent soooo much time researching and I currently only have plants in my aquarium. I'm working on cycling and just enjoying the plants and water sounds for now. I take this so seriously. I wanna kidnap all those fish :(

I'm really enjoying watching these. I'm still working on my son's tank and teaching him how to take care of his fish. I have been trying to do research on floating plants to help with algae bloom but not sure what would work/how to make it work with a filter.

I was forced to keep fish like this. Here's my story shortened.
I was, as a child, forced to keep multiple fish at the same time in 12l tank (usually 5 to 7 betta - catfish -goldfish mix, at some point combined with FOUR gold mystery snails). The fish were a present for my birthday even though i never once mentioned wanting fish. Of course i saw they arent okay - we had multiple deaths a week and i would beg mom to stop replacing them but she liked "the decoration" she saw them as (but i had to take care of them and keep them in my room so i was forced to attach to them). The weird thing is we had a dog who was taken great care of so i knew that books about pet care exist since we had some about dogs at home. so I got myself books from school library and learned about fish, but parents wouldnt let me take proper care of them. I wanted to at the very least get them a bigger space and a filter with my birthday money i got every year from relatives, and i wanted to keep only the right species together but they wouldnt let me "waste" my money and didnt want the aquarium to take up alot of space and wanted "the decoration" to look like what they want it to look. Eventually, managed to persuade mom to, like 50 or 100 fish deaths too late, get them the cheapest 5$ filter and the cheapest office table light (which had very hot, 1cm big bulb) so i at least could try really hard to warm up the freezing cold water with the lightbulb :( ). I will never forgive my parents for not stopping to make me participate in abusing countless fish for years even when they saw me cry every single day because of it.
So yes, i was literally forced to do it and it was heartbreaking even though i was 7 and had zero knowledge about fish so in my honest opinion, NO ONE, not a single person can claim ignorance when it comes to setups this abusive. i was fking seven and with parents that did this and it was still very obvious to me that it was very much wrong.
Also just a nitpick: Since noone is commenting on the last seconds of the video, i will. You never snap fingers at someone! It's incredibly rude to snap your fingers to try get someone's attention, even if you do it at a camera in a context like this - (to me, at least) this still looked extremely rude and disrespectful. Not trying to complain or something, i just though you might want to know the vibe you give off by doing that. It doesnt come off as cool or confident or easygoing or whatever impression you expected it to make, it just looks extremely rude.The video is still nice though. I like this series a lot. It's really good to see someone properly advocate for the poor tortured fish. Keep up the good work! :)

Haven't had fish tanks in 5 years but you make me wanna get some again so much i just ordered a 22L nano. i made a 102cm x 102cm 22cm high(re purposed glass shelfing) years ago dedicated to my 18 peppered cory doras and plants as they wouldn't smash them for lunch.
See you in 10 weeks after i set up a new tank, thinking i may capture a few wild rainbow fish since their extremely common in bait nets where i go fishing

hi, I am just putting this suggestion out there but if you have a betta in a bowl and can't afford a properly sized tank consider filling a storage bin with water and using pothos it is much more budget-friendly and it works! I was able to move my betta Casper from a 0.5-gallon bowl (yes I am ashamed) into a 40-gallon storage bin with live plants! just throwing it out there! have a nice day :)

When aquascaping I love the use of wood and plants but have never used moss balls in a tank.
I've seen quite a few commenters that write sentences using the secret comment words but it just grinds my gears when they add quarantine marks because they make it so obvious. The point of a secret comment is so that it's secret!

That first tank...I think they're actually onto something. Talk about a quick and easy water change! I think you could set it up to flush like a toilet when you wanted to change the water and have dechlorinated water going in

1:14 actually I don't have much problem with that as long as that water has no chlorine in it with fewer fish, maybe a bigger tank. The easiest and quickest water change ever, and probably the most frequent water change ever lol
Having a beautiful aquascape with a moss ball is something I can never imagine. °^°
The flush tank is on the indian toilet and there is never any chemicals added to water as usually water comes from some well nearby . But the regular suction by the siphon can harm the fish . It is wrong at more levels than Chris can imagine .
I have to admit I started off with a fish bowl a couple years ago but have had a 10g for my betta for awhile. I'm about to start my first planted tank though so wish me luck.. 🌿🌱🍂🍃🐟🐠
Chris I've just finished aquascaping my new 10 gallon I put a moss ball, a small piece of driftwood and some plants along with a nutrient rich substrate topped with sand. I'm hoping to put some micro corys in there at some point but I'm very unsure on stocking choice (it's not a forever home as I plan on getting a 120L at some point and transferring them but any ideas?

I once bought an aquarium with fish in it. 'Two plattys, a goldfish, three neon tetra and 3 black molly' It's already awful, I could smell it. THREE Neon Tetra? And when you can't spell the name of your fish... Yeah- I kinda wanted to make up for it, by giving them a better home, than a 60 liter aquarium, with one plant, vary little gravel, and so on. But when we get home, I have an aquarium ready, and all. Guess what? It was not a goldfish! It was a guppy! I still think it's funny that they had a guppy, and never thought it could be something else than a goldfish. How did they get a guppy, without knowing it was a guppy? Just askin'-

I work at a big box pet store. Seeing these crappy betta tanks keeps me motivated to try and convince people to get the proper set up for their betta.
I try to inform my mom as much as I can, but she says I can get a beta but only in a bowl with no “fantasy” filter. and she thinks any aquarium at all is huge, so even a 5 gallon is apparently too crazy and will cost way too much even though I’m paying for it. And yes I got one glimps of hope and studied to get a beta for like three days

First he told me glofish tetra and I told him they need a school of 5+ and 5+ gallon then ask what's a easy fish to care for I said Betta and told buy a 5+ gallon tank, filter, heater, etc. He sighed and said "I'm going get something else like a build a bear."

I feel like my hands are never dry.... I have fry so I've been feeding and changing water.. but now I have a snail problem. been picking them out of four separate tanks. Cichlid tank is the only one free of snails, but I have a baby fish explosion.... Way to good at keeping cichlid fry alive and not eaten. No idea what i'm going to do with them. Didn't realize they would breed this fast.

The clock at 7:35 isnt that bad right, of course the picture with the goldfish or something is horribly wrong. But you can make the tank yourself, if you just put some nice plants and some snails I think it’d look pretty good... I could just be seeing this wrong and im not really good at aquascaping stuff, but its not that bad right
