This was extremely unexpected. I have been obsessively collecting all (mostly Non instrumental) covers of TME I can find. Usually they're pretty old, but to see one from just a day ago, and one thats so fantastic and so unique is utterly magical. The Murders and Dream Sweet in Sea Major break away was totally unexpected but beautiful and not something you see often. I love how it sounds kind of distant and grainy, it adds so much to the tone and it makes my skin crawl in the best way possible. I enjoyed how the big hitter part (you know the one) wasn't as huge and dramatic as it usually is. I love when it comes in every time, but having it be so calm and in line with the preceding verse is very subversive, and again, very unique. You do fantastic work, sir.
I adore the calmness at the start of the bridge, it is now my favourite way to sing the bridge. Legitimately never crossed my mind but god is this good.
I know its been months since I first commented here, but I wanted to come back down to the comments section to say that I've continuously come back to listen to this. Its an amazing cover, and genuinely captures a level of majesty from the original that few other covers can faithfully catch. Also seeing how often you reply to/heart any comments, I am fairly confident this compliment from me will be seen. What you've achieved here is a most glorious mark to leave on the world; this cover brings me a special kind of peace, which I cannot articulate, when I need to clear my head. Thank you for making this, genuinely.

@@angypotato Like to Spotify etc? I intend to, but I’ve been busy (read: lazy) and haven’t quite got around to it yet I’ll try to do that right after I finish my next thing, which should be done pretty soon
The usage of the demo version of the song and 'Murders' Is perfect in this! It adds more thought to the fact its electric shock therapy, and randomness makes it that Simon is getting shocked, and remembering the last bits of what he knows and what he has done already, and what's happening now up to this point. Some start up calm, to build up to the electricity of Resident Simons Mind. He prays for mercy on him and claims he was a boy slowly. But still got the electric shock anyways, the demo part near the end is him getting shocked, as you can also hear voices. Either those of the hospital, or the voices in his head. But I'm besides the point, this is amazing!
This scratches my brain in the best way possible holy heck this is so good. I’m a little surprised on the fact that this video is alarmingly underrated,,, this may just be my opinion but the fact that you sang this in a more calm style than the original’s clashing together somehow made this all the more effective. The following picks up gradually in a different way. I like how it parallels the random vocals (dialogue?) in the original without feeling too out-of-place. - 2:56 I also really like the slight inflection on "give it all they've got~" - From "See how the brain" to "if I'm not me", there's the contradictory nature of it being low-energy, but there's quite a bit going on: the drums are softer but noticeable --- a bit of flavour on top of an already cohesive melody ---, the vocals feel more natural than the usually pitch-shifted ones during this section, the choir-esque backing adds to the atmosphere, the Labyrinth chiptune in the background is audible but not intrusive; it's just chaotic enough to still feel like The Mind Electric, but just more toned-down, I guess? I think I like this version a bit more because of that, because it's not as in-your-face as the original. - 3:38 The second interlude! For some reason, it reminds me of "I Am The Walrus" by The Beatles. I can't exactly pinpoint the chip melody as either Labyrinth or The Mind Electric Demo 4, rather, it seems like a mix of both with a little extra creative flourish. There are definitely hints of "See how I fly away" and "fall inside a hole inside a...." in the secondary, but no clear guesses on the primary. - This is 100% present in the original (I had to check), but the piano at the end really draws attention to it: the instrumental at "calming if you look at it right" directly mirrors (literally, it's reversed) the melody right before "think of these thoughts." The instrumental sound different.
It's _mostly_ the same actually, just with some of the instruments that were taking the place of the main vocals removed. If I remember correctly, the only addition I made was the little glockenspiel run before the judge's verse
@@jrobinprescott well, sounds a lightly different but is almost the same. And have some extra voices in the Mercy Verse and in the demo 4 section.
@@jrobinprescott and have some echo.
@@Electronic_Lyrics Yeah all true actually! Great ear
🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR🎉 :D
To 2024! May it not be a catastrophe 🥂
@@jrobinprescott Mhm, argeed.
the mind electric sounds better with an english accent
*The Mind Electric (Demo 1) intensifies*
@@jrobinprescott lol
okay, the cover is good, but you made the third reich flag at 2:45
Huh, TIL the Nazis briefly used an old tricolour alongside the other flag. I did not expect my Tally Hall fandom to lead me into a rabbit hole with the _SS Bremen_ in it, but here we are
@@jrobinprescottI’m surprised no one else pointed it out.
But it is mostly known as the German Empire flag rather than a naxi one though.
the voice is a bit off, a bit too low pitched
It’s a cover, not an exact replica. I’m pretty sure the voice is exactly where it meant to be.
