  • This short video explains my setup using my 2022 Ford Maverick as a track day transporter -- carrying my Yamaha R6 sport bike. It works amazingly well!
    Modifications to the Maverick which helped: Rhino liner bed liner; home depot 2’ rail based side tie down rails; Ready Ramp compact ramp/extender.

    This was a helpful video to get an idea of the bed length. I ordered a Ford Maverick to use for the track as well as it gets good gas mileage to daily. Was worried it might be too short even with the bed down so this is a good representation.

    Can you show us the ramp/bed extender and how it works? Would you recommend it for people that don’t use bikes?

      Hi Matt, here is the ramp website, they have videos / images on their advertisements: readyramp.com/shop/readyramp-i-beam-compact-bed-extender-ramp-black-90-open-50-on-truck/
      I wouldn’t recommend it unless you need it for a bike since it’s kinda expensive lol. I think you can get a standard extender for much less.

    wow that ramp fits really well for it being meant for larger trucks

    • @leitian7328
      @leitian7328  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually the ramp has two sizes, "compact" is what I have; the "full size" is meant for larger trucks. Maverick is tiny ;))

    Love that bed extender! Where’d you purchase? Or was it made by you?

      It's called Ready Ramp; they have two sizes I think, this is the "compact" size ramp/extender, fits perfectly

    I have a Ford Maverick and a Ducati Panigale. Im trying to make these two work. Whats the best way to go about this?? When i measured the bike vs the bed length the tire would be hanging out the bed of the truck with the bed door down if i try to fit the bike in straight. I have a wheel choke and a bed extender.. I could put the bike in at an angle but i wouldnt be able to use the front tire wheel choke. any suggestions???

      Hey man, take a look at my video --- that's probably the best way I'd suggest. You don't need a front wheel choke at all, if you put it in at an angle like what I did.
      The bed is simply too short to put the bike in straight, you will end up (1) a lot of stress on the tail gate (2) you won't be able to use a hard (metal) tail extender.
      Try to do the "angle" method like my video you will see what I mean. It's very easy.

    • @leitian7328
      @leitian7328  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Official spec is: Length 2,040 mm / 80.3 in. It's pretty close to that number. The bed length is 6 feet with gate down.

    I was looking at the Maverick for track, but I wanted to use it with the PitBull TRS. When pulling straight in, where does the wheel sit in the tailgate? Middle/rear/front?

    • @leitian7328
      @leitian7328  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t do the exact measurement, but I remember it being that the tire sits towards the edge of the tail gate. I think it will br very sketchy, seeing how that tailgate seems to not be designed for a lot of weight / strength

  • @romanianmoto

    Thank you for not being stingy.
    I needed someone to pay $20,000 for this truck to show me that they could put the motorcycle in the back .
    Thank you playboy

    • @leitian7328
      @leitian7328  ปีที่แล้ว

      lmao, that's one way to look at it. On the other hand, if you shop around, you'd find $20+k is indeed stingy for a truck lol

  • @kevinmolinah
    @kevinmolinah ปีที่แล้ว

    How is loading and unloading?
    Do you stand on the ramp too and temporarily go over the 500lbs tailgate rating or is the truck short enough you don't need to do that?

    • @leitian7328
      @leitian7328  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I consciously try to not stomp on the tail gate --- and put as little weight as possible on it. The bike is pretty long compared to the tail gate; so I would say about 300 lbs of the bike's weight is on the tail gate at most during the loading. So yeah, adding my weight, it's pushing the specification. So far it's holding up great (knock on wood!)!

    • @leitian7328
      @leitian7328  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha IMO that wouldn't be easy, the metal surfaces on the tail gate is quite flimsy. It works well enough for me anyways..
