I want to love this tent, but I'm not strong enough to pull the cord all the way to set it up. It is coming straight out of the mechanism, not tangled at all. I've been trying for hours, but I cant get the last 10 inches up.
We're sorry to hear that you had trouble with it. The mechanism will come together more easily if you unfold the legs into position before you pull the string.
I just finished setting up mine and the pull cord was the hardest part - I had to wrap it around my neck using my neck as a kink and pull it with my head and neck
In the US, we sell two sizes of Kinoko, regular and small. The tent in the video is the regular. In Japan, we sell three sizes, large, regular, and small. The large Kinoko is not available in the US.
In the video, around 1:35, you can see the string that you should pull. If that doesn't help, please send us an email at service@dodoutdoors.com. We'll help you figure out what is going wrong.
Thank you, i really appreciate the inclusion of the dog. It made this video much better

What are you pulling that isn't facing the camera? Th strings? My strings don't pull, don't move.

Is this waterproof and stand up in the rain/wind or is it just more of a festival tent?
It has a PU coating so likely moderate rain resistance but eventually will need recoating.
The Kinoko is fully waterproof but it is not made for strong wind. This is a fair weather tent.
