I just watched another video on this same topic and he coated his griddle surface with crisco shorting . And he uncovered the griddle after a few
months there was no rust at all . You Might give it a try next time. Looked like a great idea.

I do the same thing but with Saran Wrap. It really gets into the corners well.

I thought of this as well. Has it ripped at all? Saran is usually a lot easier to rip than parchment paper
