It's to ensure they are self-reliant, but also to strengthen relationships with their other generation members. Hololive EN literally cannot collab out of Hololive EN, yet. Hololive JP 5th gen is only just now starting to do collabs with the other generations.
I've just started watching clips of these and I'm so goddamn confused at how proffesional this was i just clicked and thought "heh, cute avatar youtuber, might watch more" but there seems to be 50 books of lore and 20 pages of rules
And also remember to be respectful, because they have rules on their streams, and if anyone is confused look in the descriptions as the rules are stated there.

I'm really glad Pikamee expressed and addressed this live on stream. You can tell that she really cares about both her fellow VTuber kin, and the chat. Even though this is a common rule and a common unwritten courtesy on multiple livestreaming platforms, I still see it happening. If the streamer isn't bringing up someone, then talking about that person is the same as suddenly starting to talk about politics. It's annoying. When a fan does that, not only he's annoying the streamer, but he's also hurting the fanbase of the streamer he's bringing up and, by extension, hurting her. That's why they all have the same rule.

Well, pigeon carrier, or just ended up making *stream* chat (you see the point here right? a stream chat, to talk about the stream content... etc) a free topic chat room, which you honestly can do somewhere else. If the streamer themselves initiated talk about another streamer/they're actually doing a collab then by all means.
That is a really important reminder coming from Pikamee which we should always observe. Pikamee and Gawr Gura collab would be really lit tho. Looking forward to that in the future.
I’ve never seen someone speak 2 languages so seamlessly. I have a few bilingual friends, but they usually have to stick with one in any given conversation, and “switch.” Like turning it on or off. This streamer seems to be able to go back and forth instantly without any effort. It’s just really cool to see.
Well, not everyone breaks the rules with bad intentions. They can have read and understood the rules, but sometimes people just get too excited and spur-of-the-moment forget them and say stuff they shouldn't have. But now Pika has reminded them, so it should be ok.
English fans who watch Japanese Vtubers are also prone to this when they don't know how to activate Google Translate for the page or do not think it is necessary to take the time to open Google Translate and copy-paste the text. I mentioned another streamer during a Japanese Vtuber's stream and I only stopped because another English viewer corrected me.
This is a common knowledge for anyone who's in VTuber hole for some time. But there are always be a newcomer, so I think Pikamee made a right move this time. I just hope that this message gets to as many people as possible.

Just don't talk about other vtubers out of nowhere/with no reason.
Mentioning/discussing other vtubers on a vtuber's stream is being rude to the vtuber (unless they're the one who brought the topic up). Kind of like how you're talking to someone but suddenly they talk to someone else.

It's like you didn't pay attention to them but think about other person instead. Not only that, you try to make others think about that other person too. And talking about other person publicly (and behind their back) can cause a big problem if something has gone a little bit wrong. In regards of Hololive and Nijisanji, I've seen they collabed before, but it's not happened very often.

I know it has been said a lot already, but this subtitle style is crazy good. This must take a lot of time to edit that way, to color code the individual words, to add the little extras like the smaller font for the interjections... I just wanna say that your clips are always entertaining to watch!
@Marcus B The actual color coding sure takes just a click or two, but the whole process of analyzing the sentence, deciding what needs to be color coded, and also fixing the grammar at the same... that may take a while longer than simple subs.
Good choice to clip this to bring attention to this and I'm glad Pika brought it up and laid it out clearly. I know there are always going to be people who aren't aware of this kind of etiquette but we all have to do our best to be kind and respectful in the Vtuber community.

i once broke the rule (not in pikamee stream tho) due to over enthusiasm of me as newbie in these rabbit hole and I learned it hard way (scolded by entire chat) now i get used to comment something that fit to the topic and got to have fun with everyone. being considerate is the best mentality.

Agreed. I think because Twitch is a dedicated streaming platform, even viewers there are familiar with streaming etiquette. However, people from all over the place are on TH-cam, so it's really helpful to familiarize people with these sorts of rules.

I think this video is very important, and there should be MORE like this. The rules are there for a reason. Not all fans are rude and ignorant. Most dont even know the basic vtuber general chat rules, and why are they important.
The reason that Rushia gets so much of that is because she gives such a desirable reaction to it. The girl is just too good at turning those situations into top level bits.

Honestly, I find the cultural clash pretty fascinating. I mean Im not from the West but I do consume a lot of Western movies, series and internet culture (thanks to gaming and cartoons I guess?) so I do understand Western mentality when it comes to certain things but Im also Asian, so I also understand why Japanese vtubers are not fond of raids.

Yeah, some people have been doing that on Pekora's streaming like "Kiara wants to make a collaboration with you". It's not cool to do that. It also happened that people were flooding the chat on the other Hololive girls talking about the new girls. At some point I wrote some spamming guy "Bro, we're ALL HYPED about it, but please stop that. Go to your twitter, fill your own profile with your own thoughts about it, and stop spamming those here". I mean you can make a suggest about something, but there's a time and place to do that. If the timing and the place aren't the right ones, you're doing something that's not cool. But well, everyday's internet experience XD.
This seems to be a common rule for most streamers in general to *not* mention other streamers in their chat unless the topic comes up. I remember Joel from Vinesauce having to address this same issue because people were saying things like "x went live."
This is an issue I’ve sadly noticed is just prominent in the streaming community in general. Streamers are always getting harassed about who they should collaborate with and the like. It’s disappointing, but I guess some people really don’t know how to take a hint.

If you love pikamee, just follow the rule. The reason is we have a different culture, most of vtuber fans are from japan and asia. By not mentioning others vtuber it's show a good manner. I know some of you think it's fine because i did watch twitch, raiding others stream is a good thing there. But you need to understand the differences of the culture. I know it has been said a lot already, but this subtitle style is crazy good. This must take a lot of time to edit that way, to color code the individual words, to add the little extras like the smaller font for the interjections... I just wanna say that your clips are always entertaining to watch!
@Marcus B The actual color coding sure takes just a click or two, but the whole process of analyzing the sentence, deciding what needs to be color coded, and also fixing the grammar at the same... that may take a while longer than simple subs.
Good choice to clip this to bring attention to this and I'm glad Pika brought it up and laid it out clearly. I know there are always going to be people who aren't aware of this kind of etiquette but we all have to do our best to be kind and respectful in the Vtuber community.

Honestly, I find the cultural clash pretty fascinating. I mean Im not from the West but I do consume a lot of Western movies, series and internet culture (thanks to gaming and cartoons I guess?) so I do understand Western mentality when it comes to certain things but Im also Asian, so I also understand why Japanese vtubers are not fond of raids.

It also happened that people were flooding the chat on the other Hololive girls talking about the new girls. At some point I wrote some spamming guy "Bro, we're ALL HYPED about it, but please stop that. Go to your twitter, fill your own profile with your own thoughts about it, and stop spamming those here".

This seems to be a common rule for most streamers in general to *not* mention other streamers in their chat unless the topic comes up. I remember Joel from Vinesauce having to address this same issue because people were saying things like "x went live."
