"I've been in this industry for a long time. Never seen that one before."
They both think that about each other. Sora about the math, Miko about that FACE
1:21 sora's mind break lol
hahhaha
The safe kind.
Meanwhile Aruran and Ollie in the distance, " First time?"
More thinking along the lines of “How can someone pass middle school let alone high school and not remember how to do this?” She even simplified the addition and subtraction so Miko didn’t even have to find like terms and still managed to mess one of them up.
@@Kaimine08 well you see, when people don't use information they've learned for years or decades, they tend to forget it. Streamers especially don't have to think much if that's all they've done as a career.
I may have a degree in Physics, but I'll gladly pay for Sora's private lessons.
better lineup early before it gets too long
I'm only semi-decent at Math but I would 100% pay for Sora to privately tutor me and turn me into a Math Prodigy.
It's not about the learning, Batman.
Software engineer here. I totally agree with you.
As a business major and years experience in finance apps, I will line up for her private math tutoring.
1:21 was my exact reaction
I think this was everyone's reaction XD
@@l.a.wright6912 bro, I mean the only correct answer is the addition of the fraction only😂😂
same, it made think how did she even graduate from school 😭
@@l.a.wright6912 Oh boy, I guess I am even dumber than I thought. My reaction was more "oh... she is wrong?!"
This re-connected some neural pathways that have been long dormant, and now I have a headache.
rhooo! those are just basic maths! that's not that complicated!! if you want a real headache consider checking gamma function, Lebesgue integrals, ...
I haven't used my mathematical brain in like 5 years
@Steve Muller
Those are significantly more likely to be remembered for a number of reasons. Not for Mikochi, naturally, I doubt she ever went beyond high school math.
Wasn't really the "Math hard make head hurt" kinda situation. More that the actual process of remembering the functions, was likened to having your foot asleep suddenly wake up. Haven't needed to a lot of fraction multiplication or division since grade school.
I second guessed my own answer of 1/3 * 1/3 = 1/9
And forgot 1/3 / 1/3 = 1
2:56 Sora just wipe her sweat and be like: teaching her is tougher than I thought
Reminds me of that episode in Kaguya-sama where Chika teaches Shirogane to play volleyball.
i wanna see a training arc where miko becomes a university-level mathematician. This would be PEAK content.
Stop asking imposible thing😅
I will be waiting if they start teaching the introduction of Calculus.
Her mind is gonna break once she is introduced to the world of Analysis.
Ollie your time to shine 🤭
just had a weird vision of miko being the first vtuber to appear on numberphile XD;;
1:20 Miko could be said to be such a "special" student that Sora was so surprised that she couldn't believe it :)
Sora become watame
I love the recent arc of Sora losing her mind over people's math comprehension. Glad she's willing to teach though!
Thanks for the subs!
This is also my first time seeing Sora goes "omg...." face after all these times lmao
⅓+⅓ = ?
Miko: 1+1=2 and I know that 3 stay the same so It's ⅔
Everyone: Ooooh sasuga Elite
⅓-⅓ = ?
Miko: 1-1=0 Zero is meaningless and I know that 3 stay the same so It's 3
Everyone: eh?...
⅓×⅓ = ?
Miko: 1×1=1 and I know that 3 stay the same so It's ⅓
Everyone: no.... that's n-
⅓÷⅓ = ?

Isn't that crazy?
Sora's reaction really surprised me to the point of laughing because of it 😂
I have a solid state physics exam tomorrow. This will come in handy. Thanks.
tell us your grade! good luck to you and hope there will be no hard integrals or derivatives
Got an A+
We all laugh at Miko, but I legit forgot how to do fraction division, so this was actually educational for me.
I’m just thankful that I didn’t even have to remember reciprocal division because she was literally dividing one number by itself, so basic of division will tell you that dividing a number by itself equals one
I'm not ashamed to confess it took me quite long to figure the right answer. I'm glad that I still quickly knew what's wrong with Miko's tho.
Honestly, even as a math nerd, I don't fault Miko or anyone for tripping up on the division, as if you don't remember the whole inversion thing you're pretty much screwed. Even the multiplication, I can understand how someone who struggles with math would get tripped up there.
The subtraction tho? Yeah, there's no overlooking that one. Even an elementary school student would know that you wouldn't end up with a bigger number after subtracting lol.
I don’t know if I should be relieved to find this comment or worried about my tiny brain
I mean, that's fair if it was any different numbers. But it should be common knowledge that any number divided by itself is 1, so I won't let that one slide this easily xD (edit: Except for 0 because you can't divide by 0, so 0/0 is not defined)
i had no idea Soda-chan could even make that face, that's the power of the Elite Miko
I'm always amazed at the Face Id plus VTuber Studio is able to take that data and translate it into motion capture and display it on the screen accurately. Yes I know they have toggles but a lot of VTubers don't like using toggles for more than effect, so these reactions tend to be driven from the mocap data
So here she is and her face is just dumbfounded
Sora's reaction is like she saw a ghost or something 😅
Yeah, the Ghost of Miko's Good Math Skills lol.
Did you meant "like she saw a bug or something"?
Ghost do nothing to Sora.
Yeah, except the worst part about it is Sora wouldn’t react like that if she saw a ghost
When the top honor student who is also the student council president decides to teach the school baka baby delinquent
I like how Miko has this constant "no thoughts head empty" look
As a math teacher, I can't be mad at her. At least she's trying
I hope I can make you slightly proud in saying that I didn’t even use reciprocal division for the dividing portion because I realized she was dividing one number by itself which basic rules of division will tell you that equals one. And I’ve been out of school for more than five years now and the last time I had a math class was eight years ago
@@scurreith3667 Actually that's basic common sense 😅
@@IGNACIO_MARIN I do realize I messed something up though, +-1, not just 1
That mindset, if you're one of my teacher you become one of my favorite.
1:22 - The face of a "How the heck did you even handle your daily finances?"
Miko: "That's the neat thing, I don't."
Miko solving math problems in the most elite way possible 😂
Miko moving on from elite english to elite math. So talented
Was about to drop the workings here, but Sora-chan explained it perfectly. Good job! 👏
It's cool that Miko started remembering how to do it all at the end lol
Sora playing horror game: 🥱
Sora teaching Miko: 01:20
Sora's new expression unlocked
Well done Miko
This seems like a fun stream to learn math-related Japanese vocabulary and how to actually read out equations and stuff, which is nice since it's not the kind of thing you typically cover as an foreign language learner. Definitely gonna check it out!
To be fair to Miko, I know a lot of people who have similar difficulties with multiplying and dividing fractions. All of them are adults.
Well, that's a problem..
True, true, 5/4 of everyone has trouble with fractions *nods in Miko*
@@esense9602 Yep. A math problem, specifically.
I forgot what fractions even are
To extrapolate on that, I also can't fathom how some people don't understand algebra at all yet they finish undergrad. How do you live??
1:21 As a mathematician, this expression described it all
Sora going multiple collabs in today is very special.
it made me remember that time korone got caught with a basic math game in her console
Sora teaching Miko-P that 0/0 = 0 lol.
But considering she struggled with this, Mikochi won't ever run into this issue.
Ah. The reciprocal rule in fractional division...
Then there Least Common Demoninator for adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators.
I’m kind of glad that the reciprocal rule exists, because for me that problem in particular, I immediately knew it was one, not because of reciprocals in fractional division, but because you were dividing the one number by itself, in math, the number one rule of division is, if you divide a number by itself it equals one, and for anyone who says what about dividing by zero, in mathematical terms zero is not actually counted as a number same as infinity is not counted as a Number.
@@scurreith3667 True. You can't divide nothing or something immeasurable.
@@scurreith3667 ??? 0 is a number. it's neither negative nor positive, but it's absolutely a number and can't be compared to infinity.
you can't do infinity+5 for example or infinity/2. because it's not a number.
you CAN do 0+3, or 0/3. because 0 IS a number.
0/0 is simply a very weird case. I don't think even mathematicians agree on what it is(though there are 3 possibilities I believe, among them "1" is a possibility. "Undefined" is another.)
@@ssjcrafter8842 A course in calculus will tell you different
@@ssjcrafter88420/0 is not wierd at all. Everyone agree that that you can't divide on 0 and thus 0/0 is undefined in a same way as 3/0, 4/0 and etc. And you can do infinity+5 it will be equal to infinity.
Sora was so shocked, it too her a couple of seconds to toggle that expression.
I am the only one who noticed Sora made a mistake at 2:04? She substracted the denominator, and so she ended up with the forbidden 0/0.
Miko’s reasoning was consistant, she just forgot to realise you still need to write the 0 as numerator, which gives 0/3, which is 0.
hahaha, I love how Miko actually noticed Sora making the shocked expression 😝 What an... elite success rate
Sora is well known for keeping her composure in the most shocking moments, especially in horror games. But if anyone gonna get a reaction out of Sora, its gonna be Miko.
Pekora was certified to teach little kids, now I have to see HER teach Miko.
getting Ao-kun and Aruran flashbacks 😂
I barely remember learning this in highschool. Then again I was asleep most the time so I actually learned something from this
Just conceptually, thinking that the same number subtracted by the same number is anything other than 0 is crazy to me.
Everybody is calling out 1:21 but if you watch close it really starts at 1:10, where Sora does an incredulous double take and then looks on in disbelief for a bit even before her pupils do the thing.
Sora just went mindblown how baby minded Elite Miko is in maths XD
"In my 25 years of teaching..."
Dumbfounded Sora is actually quite the image. She's awesome, dude
Sora's a good teacher if she can turn around that level of dumb that quickly 😂
0:58
miko: This subtraction would be zero, so...
elite miko: it's three.
chat: yes!
1:21 Soda-chan's face is too good. Sasuga Elite Miko, no one is able to mindbreak Sora like that
Guess it made sense why she didn't put water in her humidifier xD
well, she at least remembered how to do the multiplication and division after being told her first answers were wrong
Thanks Sora-sensei. You've caused me to remember what school taught me
Back in the day, wives in Japan would get the man's paycheck and run the house with in.
If Miko were to do that it'd quickly turn into the "Husbant... Now are we homeress" meme.
Just completed my Bachelor in Actuarial Mathematics. I feel Sora’s pain
Indeed. My face resembled Sora.
just went through years of ptsd
If I remember right Sora was tutor for someone in hololive or like she used to teach someone while doing vtubing side by side.
I think I saw a video where A chan and Sora was talking about sora being tutor to someone in hololive or she was like tutor as a profession.
Goomba: I've finally found a formidable match muhahaha
Goomba vs Miko math contest.
Ollie as the judge.
When my child enters elementary school. I know what video to show him
Never thought i would get a refresher about basic arithmetic math from Soda-chan!
That face was really cute.
Looks like her collab with Aruran and Ao inspired Sora to teach more people. I hope that's the case.
When I saw this I was like oh they're starting off with such really basic stuff. Then Elite Mikochi proceeds to get 3/4 wrong. lmao
Imagine Miko with Matrix multiplication.
Well you're teaching a baby fractions, she's gonna struggle for sure no matter how elite she is
Maybe Ao would learn too if Sora was teaching her. She's too busy bickering with Aruran to make any progress.😂
I feel bad for him, ever since Aho-Kuyu join the company he’s had two gremlins to deal with one of them, literally being God
If you missed it, Sora did actually teach Ao-kun (it was a collab on Aruran's channel)
I don't know why but this lesson is better than my math teacher
actually, I laugh until my stomach hurt at Miko answer in the stream 🤣
Her shocked face while Miko was solving the problems is hilarious. But to be fair, don't know anyone better to teach Miko, sora is really patience and has a teacher way of speaking.
To paraphrase George Carlin: "She's minimally exceptional".
1:21 Elite Mind Break
as person who works at heavy machinery division, math is truly my biggest enemy 💀
It's easier to explain to simple minded people in Apples.
Let's say you have an apple and you cut it in 3 parts. Each one of the three pieces of the apple is the "1/3".
1/3 + 1/3: you grab two of these pieces to getter now toy got 2/3 of the apple
1/3 - 1/3: you were given one of these pieces and you ate one of them, now you got no apple
1/3 * 1/3: you took one of these pieces and split it to make 3 more pieces. Each new piece is 1/9th of the apple
1/3 ÷ 1/3: you grabbed one piece of apple and you distribute it equally among one person. Every person received 1 piece.
Always hated fractions. Been out of school for a while so I honestly couldn’t remember the solutions either.
The bgm matches this perfectly
Real mindbreak is when sora writes "0/0"
miko's eliteness truly dumbfounded sora-chan.
I wasn't expecting to learn math! What did I just watch 😅
Looks like Miko's previous math tutor was Terrance Howard.
You have 1/3 slice of cake, you Take those 1/3 Slice of cake and somehow you ended up of 3 WHole Cake,I love you Mikochi
I forgotten most of this part of math hahaha
Considering Miko's mom's reaction when the story came out about her not putting water in a humidifier, she's gonna have conniptions over this one.
That Chika's realisation face, lol
1:39 Same, Mikochi, same. And I thank *YOU* for the rare treats.
It was a memory that was sealed many moons ago.
Not gonna lie though, Miko and I shared a braincell. It was after the explanation "Core Memory Unlocked"
I'm not an expert, but I was taught there are only two operations: addition and multiplication. Subtraction is one case of the former, whereas division is one case of the latter. This whole thing reduced my thinking about this ordeal.
She probably forgot already...
NGL, I've forgotten most of this too, so I feel like Miko. You may ask "how do you forget this?!" and the answer would be, we're just not gifted in the way of the brain.
Elite math
For a breif moment, Miko made Sora question whether humanity was going to be okay.
Sora and Ollie should compete to see who can teach basic math the best.
Ngl, this clip refreshed at least 50% of the stuff I've learned back in SHS.
Spending time with programming languages truly dulls the arithmetic side of your brain~
At least Miko got back right on track really fast but wonder if she will remember in the future.
The division one is essentially a double negative
How the heck did 1/3 - 1/3 become 3? She said it right there - "This subtraction is 0" so how does "I think 3" follow that??????
Miko's brain is one of the mysteries of the universe.
I think it is because she is thinking merely about "number over other number", and not necessarily what the fractions actually represent. In this case she used the same method as adding fractions without considering how obviously wrong it is.
Ollie is 100% dying in the background, well she's dead, sure, but she's dying
It's an elite arithmetic xD
May sora mind have a good break today
Hehe, I guess the problem is, that Mikochi doesn't understand the nature of these operations and just trying to revive in her memories some formulas learned by heart long ago.
The thing is that 1/3 is not some magical symbol. It's one third part of the whole. Like the cake that was cut in three parts and one of them will be 1/3 of the cake.
1/3 + 1/3 is as if you put together one piece of the cake and another one - then you'll get two pieces, two of three parts of the cake, 2/3.
1/3 - 1/3 is as if you'll get one piece of the cake less than one piece. Which is none, 0.
1/3 × 1/3 is as if you'll cut one of the three pieces to three little ones and take one of them. If you'll cut other pieces too, you'll get 9 little pieces and one of them will be nineth part of the cake, which is 1/9.
And, at last, 1/3 / 1/3 in fact is mathematical way to ask: "ho much third pieces of the cake in one third piece of the cake?" Obviosly, that the answer is "one"
Soraaaaa 😂😂
I want these lessons from sora 'cause I suck at fractions
Next time, Miko will teach Sora how to stream hilariously.
so wholesome 😊
Still use fractions to calculate prices for stuff in kg.
Like, cheap butter from the store is 1.4$ for 180 g, 1.4÷0.18 is 7.777...{which means recurring, which means the fraction goes to infinity)$ per kg.
Farmer's butter taste better and cost 6.5$ per kg today.
With miko grade math I now know which butter is cheaper.
