@PeterPee i very much appreciate your reply. It makes no sense to me that Sonos limits their configs. It is sooooo obvious that customers would want to used two Sub Mini with the ARC Ultra. Sadly Sonos has never listened to their customers.
It really depends on what your want your bass at. The Arc Ultra already does some decent bass. But if you have $300 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, throw it at the Sub Mini.

If you have the One SLs as surrounds already it may not be that big of a jump going to an Arc Ultra if you plan to lose the One SLs in the process. But if you keep the One SLs, you will hear a difference.
@PeterPee Can you give me the percentage of the change if the Arc Ultra with Sub Mini and Era 100s equal 100%? And the Beam Gen 2 with Sub Mini and Era 100s? I currently own a similar setup, but now the Arc Ultra is out, but I can't decide if I should upgrade the Beam Gen 2 to the Ultra.
Yeah, over TH-cam, my recording comes up as stereo. It's just to give the sensing of the frequency response, not so much the spatial audio. I play the files through a PC. It requires a 3000/4000 series graphics card with HDMI 2.1 output though. The PC then goes to an LG CX TV and it is connected to the Sonos Arc Ultra.
@@PeterPee Strange that it only comes up as stereo from some TVs that are capable of passing through DD+/Atmos. The Samsung Q90R TVs in my basement living room and master bedroom will only provide a stereo signal directly from their supplied version of the TH-cam app. However, I can get the Dolby Digital Plus signal showing up on the Sonos Controller from the TH-cam App on the Hisense U8N TV that’s in my main living room upstairs. The Hisense TV also passes through a much louder signal to my Sonos bars than the Samsungs do, which again I find strange. They won’t ever do this, because they know it would make their overpriced Gen Subs obsolete. Sonos is literally withholding options from some of its components to save sales on their other components. Another example of this is proving that they could give us a dialogue volume slider on arc ultra within the software, and not giving Arc original owners the same option. Basically forcing us to upgrade, if we actually want to hear what’s being said during action scenes. It’s the same reason the company won’t release a real AV Amp that doesn’t rely on being paired with a Sonos bar to output Dolby Surround. The company is too afraid folks would quit buying their bars, and go with aftermarket gear in a true front left - centre - front right configuration with aftermarket subs and quality rear surround speakers.
Hi Peter, and what about using dual Sub Mini's configuration with my Arc Ultra, will that give an advantage in balancing the bass sound instead of using one Sub Gen.4? Thanks!
Have you heard of the bugs with surrounds not working properly with the Ultra, Sonos acknowledged it and are working on a fix but this was really disappointing.
The app is OK now - not great, but not the smoking pile of refuse it was when they first released it. I'd say you are going to have to upgrade at some point, might as well get it over with. Once you get used to the kinda weird navigation they have gone with, it's not too bad. Took me about a week before I wasn't saying to myself "how do I get to x from here?"
The app is... well, dare I say, now quite smooth. There are still some hiccups like the sub not showing up right after you add it. But the update software and add speakers process is now better than ever and almost always succeeds at first try!

No I am not. They send me the review units. But I don't get paid for reviews. They don't control what I say either and they understand that if Sonos fucks up, I make videos about the fuck ups. :D
I can’t tell the differences between subs
I wonder what the arc ultra does wenn it is Connect it with duel sub 3 and de era 300s. I think the subs will work less because of the arc ultra sound Motion
No, actually, you will hear that the subs take over the work of the Sound Motion driver.
I have the Arc with 2x 300's and a sub gen two and will be going for the Ultra but am seriously thinking of getting a sub mini at this price. am i stupid ????
No, keep the Sub Gen 2. Put the money towards the Arc Ultra instead.
@@PeterPee I had already bought the Mini before you replied Peter, However even though i at the moment only have the original Arc i have re True played and i think it sounds much crisper, there is still plenty of bass but i cant feel the vibration in the floor like i used to which is good as i am moving to a smaller house soon and my system will be in a room connected to the house next door. that said i can't wait to get hold of an Ultra👍
Black Friday Era300 for 349,- euro👌
In which European country ? :)
@sateg Holland
Thx for the review again but i asked it twice already, what is up with the standby mode off the ultra is it improved and more green or does it still burn a hole in the electrical bill?
You sound entitled af lmao
Arc Ultra consumes 4.6W in standby mode.
Otherwise known as the square root of damn all
I have not gotten round to testing that.
Would it be a good idea to pair the Sub mini with 2x 5's or would that be a waste of time and money
Don't bother. The FIVES are already very capable in the bass department.
Here in the US there’s no Black Friday sale this year on the Arc Ultra so I will pass 🎉😡😡😡😡 Sonos grinch Christmas 2024 🙁💩
The Ultra was just released so a discount would be expecting a lot.
They are probably not going to discount this in the short term given how high the demand is. The Sub 4 was released at the same time and having it discounted goes to show that people need motivation to upgrade.
@@PeterPeeSonos website got sub 4 discounted but sub gen 3 same price. lol
US costco has a deeper discount on Sub gen 3 and offered some Apple credit. I got sub 3 instead of sub 4.
