Well, this is the Dave Cook's page, and I am Dave and I like to cook. And as a cook I like knives. So whenever I get a chance, I order knives. Sometimes I order expensive knives. Sometimes I order expensive knives. And this is one of those not-so-expensive knives. But I'll tell you what. When I open this up, I was truly impressed.
It is a beautiful knife. It comes with a protective sheath. It's. Well, let's just look at it.
So what we have is the home hero, eight-inch chef's knife, and it comes with a sheath. It says it's ultra sharp and it is pretty sharp. But this is the introduction. I mean, it's a nice box. It's got a magnet.
But it's a nice gift set and it fits down in the styrofoam there. Be a hero in your home. But this is my first impression of this is a really nice knife. It it's it says it's high carbon steel. And I did a little bit of research on the steel and well, it's it's not the highest quality steel you can get.
But look at this thing. It's nice. It's sharp. I can feel it on my thumb. I can feel my fingerprints. That's what I look for. And it's been really nice to be proud to give that as a gift. It's very affordable. And then there's the sheath. It just it's going to help you keep the blade sharper, longer. So but to be honest, is touting that as a3cr 13 stainless steel.
And I did a little bit of looking up on the internet and that's considered to be a lower-end stainless steel grade. And it's decent for budget-friendly applications, but it may not offer the same level of performance as a professional knife would. But for regular use at home, I don't know that it would be that big of a deal.
It's a beautiful knife and I think would make a great gift for somebody who, you know is a hobby or cooks once in a while. If you have a cook in the family, probably wouldn't want to give that to them. But it's a nice knife. I like it.
