Its all about the hip. Look at his right foot and how he uses it to help him open the hips with power that translate to the hands. Hip opening is so great it gives hands time to catch and adjust on every ball thrown at him. You can see his hands are always way beyind the hip adjusting and coming with power.
I've always said it's gotta be a major disadvantage for opposing pitchers trying to get Ohtani out......since Shohei himself knows the art of pitching just about as well as anybody in the game.

And then there's situational considerations like, how does this batter change their approach with 2 strikes or with a man on second?
