普段野球を観ない人も感動していたし、野球を観ていた人は更に感動したと思う。
最後の大谷翔平vsトラウトなんて、天の配剤としか思えないくらい…。

普段スポーツ嫌いな人ですが（日本人に不利な判定ばかり出てスポーツ見てたら不快になる時代生まれ）WBCのせいで（親族中が贔屓の）メッツを今年だけで10回ぐらい家族を連れて見に行ってしまった！

The final scene of Otani vs. Trout is one I keep going back to. It is a legendary confrontation scene. The expressions on their faces at this moment are priceless and beautiful. More than the victory or defeat, the fact that this confrontation took place is a triumph of baseball. Baseball has surpassed movies.
That's the hilarious thing about this moment. If a baseball movie ended like this, down to a full count with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, with one nation's superstar versus another nation's superstar (who are also teammates), anyone watching that movie would say that it was cheesy and overly dramatic and unrealistic. It's like a poker movie where the final hand is a royal flush beating four of a kind. But it actually happened! It's just so funny and so insanely cool.

普段ならトラウトのラスボス感がすごいんだろうけど、9回に限っては大谷のラスボス感が会場を支配していた
大谷がマウンドまで歩いていく姿は相手にとって絶望感しか涌かない程の恐ろしいラスボス感のオーラ出まくり😰
ちゃんと聞いてると、実況も解説も日本のいいプレーは名指しで褒めてくれてるね👏

I never interested in baseball, because it's not a popular sport in my country. All I knew about it was that the guy hits the ball. A series of coincidences led to me watching the match. And it was definitely the best three hours in the last month. Great game, I'm totally in love.

This whole tournament was incredible. Japan going undefeated, USA clawing back from early struggles, Mexico's magical run, Czech Republic's team of teachers and cab drivers putting up a fight, damn near godlike performances from Ohtani and Turner and Arozarena... This was all *so* fun.

Me as a Japanese MLB fan, there is no dought that the US has the best players in the world.
If there were ten Japan-US games, it is almost imposible for them Japan to win more than 3games.
Not a sweep but potential difference between the two nations is odvious.
Lucky Japan picked the 3 out of 10.

岡本の日本でのホームラン数に言及して「岡本のホームランに驚きはない」と言ったり、戸郷が暴投しそうになったボールを中村が抑え込んだのを「素晴らしい」と言ってくれたり、源田のDRS
DRSの高さに驚いてくれたり、実況・解説の方々も、きちんと選手たちのデータやプレーに着目して、この試合がいかにレベルの高いものかを伝えてくれようとしたその心意気に感謝したい。
全くの余談ですが、この実況者のルーツには、日本人が存在するそうです。ほかの実況者より、発音が上手です。

Besides the Trout vs Ohtani showdown in the end, another part to focus on is the relay of Japanese pitchers(Togo, Takahashi, Ito, Taisei) that came in to hold off the stacked US lineup to 0 runs. Most all of them are still in their early 20s and have massive potential after this tournament. Especially Togo and Takahashi, they’re still 22 and 20 years old.
Ohtani just had to give up his first win because of the Angels' blow-pen.
He must be missing Team Japan so badly.

This game feels like watching Olympics. The Titans amongst all Titans! Team Japan is so great with their teamwork and individual skills. And that great showdown from Ohtani vs Trout was thrilling.

When I was a kid in the 90s, i dreamed of an actual world series involving teams from around the world. For some reason, I've never watched the wbc until this year though. This is what was needed to make it more mainstream in the US. Hopefully it keeps growing here now

@@penguinshug151007 I worked closely with a colleague from my company's Tokyo office last year, and she turned out to be a big Seattle Mariners fan because of Ichiro, despite the fact that Ichiro's initial run with the Mariners ended when she was probably like 12. It was great!
