Your videos are epic, you touch on everything someone would want to know 👍 You mention the JVM2000’s, did you ever play the DSL100H? I’d be curious of your thoughts as a comparison. I want one of these now! You nailed the plexi/JCM800 tones!
Thanks! DSL100H just at a store once, was a little more metal voiced. I'm meeting with Marshall next week to try out some new amps they are working on! Looking forward to some great new stuff from Marshall.
Sounds great, brother, just like any video you do. What is the difference between the original DSL 100, and the New DSL 100HR, and what does the HR stand for? Thanks for the great video.
Thanks! I'm going to post a video of the two. The new one is a lot less noisy, more options and tones are a little better I think. Also with 6 button switch you can get lots of options.
I bought one used a few weeks ago and the ultra gain channel muffles really bad and anytime I try any pedals in the front (even noisegates) I get a very bad buzzing when not striking any notes. I just brought it in to be serviced by an amp tech so hopefully the issue is solved because there seems to be a lot of potential in this model
@@HollywoodRareGuitars I want to be able to do that but it muffled really crazy for me even at very low levels. The other channels seem fine though. Still waiting to hear back from the amp tech. Fingers crossed
I have the HR, took lots of adjustment, finally have a tone i love. Pickup height is crucial, and amp hates some pickups(SD Super Distortion). My HR Head and 1960A cab likes Dimarzio Super Distortions and old Gibson 490 type pickups. Probably a magnet preference. Red channel is 12;00 max!
@@HollywoodRareGuitarsdamn mine doesn’t even sound like this even with a pedal. Yours sounds heavy, mine sounds more like classic rock, by that I mean less heavy

This thing sounds awesome, exactly the tone I like, warm, lots of bite and crunchy. As another commented, a no brained especially at this price.
Thanks for subscribing if you are!
Love my HR. Really like Marshall's revisions on this dsl run. A good dose of master volume and an sd1 makes it mean.
New video up of the DSL you will like
To my ears , at least , you nailed the perfect Marshall sound …..!!!!!😎👍
And the clean is quite good….. 👍
IMHO…….
Thanks so much, you might like some of my recent videos of the 1987x and 1959hw, jcm 800 etc

I find that when using OD 2 I need to use second master volume with a little boost on it and then it is perfect

I leave my masters on 10 and just use my channel volumes, sounds more like a jcm 800 on classic channel red
I do channel volumes on 10 and adjust masters for each channel, check out my other dsl videos
Quick question. I’m seeing some head that have dsl 100 and dsl100hr. What is the difference?
Hr is newest version, tone is better, better footswitching and 50 / 100 watt switch, master volumes, speaker emulation plug, also midi switching.
20 years
The hr also has a resonance knob instead of the “Deep” switch to give the player a bit more control of the low end
For me it is a forever amp... I have owned a brand new JCM2000 DSL fresh out of the box and the JCM TSL100 , this is better than either of those
thanks it's a good one, similar to be 100 deluxe by Friedman
What makes it better?
@@ArrowsInTheDark tone, more options, less noise and jcm 2000 had over heating problems
