Hi Amy! Your podcast is awesome: a quick tempo, very efficient (i.e. lots of crisp and precise information), while still being a super soothing moment. It’s a pleasure quick-cruising with you through so many gorgeous patterns, projects and inspiration pieces you have. Looking forward to the next episode and… to spring! Nice to see some crocheting appear. Greetings from Sweden /kim. (PS Also… and that’s just a ridiculous detail: I love the fact that you don’t have to sip some hot beverage out of a chunky cup during the podcast… I just don’t get this need to drink while talking for 30-60 minutes about knitting… But as said… this is just a ridiculous detail… I’m smiling and laughing at my over-reaction to it… 😄)
Yes! Normalize working on warmer garments like sweaters through the spring and summer! This is my first spring/summer season I am actively participating/planning in as a knitter, and I am so sad to give up cozy knits. Thinking of knitting a few tanks/tees to see how much I reach for them, and then focusing on cardigans, sweaters for the fall season, and home goods. I have a Stella Quilt Cushion on the needles at the moment too, and I’m obsessed!
I often put aside wips for another season and love it! I actually find that it helps keep me motivated in the next fall/winter season because I have some work done already.
I love these videos! So much inspo plus you give such succinct information- plus you always knit up your pieces in such gorgeous versatile colours! I hope I can knit like you one day :)
I, too, just reviewed my winter projects, listed spring ideas and cast on a few things! Terranova, (Tanis Lavalee using Ella Rae Eco Tweed), Ranunculus (Midori Hirose using Zauberball Crazy Hanf), Traveler Cowl (Andrea Mowry using Noro Silk Garden Sock), finishing up an Alpine Bloom (Caitlyn Hunter in a linen yarn for my granddaughter’s birthday)… and carding and spinning some raw alpaca
I’m crocheting the Nordic Star Sunburst blanket by Mallory Krall and loving it! You’re so right about those variegated sunburst squares- they’re gorgeous! I ordered an advent full skein collection from Knotty Pine Fiber Co and it’s so fun to see how they come out. Have fun!! Happy Spring 🥰
I never knit a garment but you inspire the desire for me. It is so warm where I live. Most winters I might wear a pullover once or twice during the season. I love and wear shawls all year. Your podcast is so very interesting and enjoyable. You speak very polished. Love your knitting.
The darling wrap is very pretty. Cardigans are a great spring project because it’s still chilly in New England. I’m just slightly south in NYC and it’s so cold right now. I’m a crocheter so I like the warm weather projects, but it’s so smart to get some of those cardis done in the spring. My plan is to get some summer garments done between now and June and then start on the cardigans and Christmas gifts from July through September. And then sweaters in the fall. I’m trying to do them ahead of time to maximize the amount of time I can wear them.
So lovely listening to you. ❤ I’ve started the Darling wrap, also in a deep navy. Am enjoying it so far and think it will be really wearable over summer dresses and into the autumn over long t-shirts.
Wow, the Kuutar Camisole that you made last year is SO GORGEOUS on you. I absolutely love it!! You'd look so beautiful in knitwear that is in the color that you're wearing in this video. Your lippy is the exact same color and looks so good with your skin. Personally, I get tired of greys and blacks, and want to see people using bright pretty colors. Living vicariously... ; )
Thank you for the round up of your spring knitting plans! I don’t have any specific patterns that I want to knit, but I want to focus on knitting more spring appropriate items like cardigans and dresses, as I want to also be able to wear them all year round. And I live in Denmark, so the weather is very interchangeable and we only get really hot weather for a few weeks ✨
What a beautiful colors those miniskeins have! Made me wanna crochet a pillow. Seems like a lot of knitters love this Laura Penrose pillow design. Lots of love from Poland ❤
Love watching these videos❤ They are so inspiring❤️ My knitting plans are the Porcelain Sweater, I just recived my hand dyed yarn for the contrast colour💜 Also looking for some crochet projects for when I need a break from knitting🙈🧶
Hi Amy! Boston area knitter here! Just about to cast on for the Riley tee based on your video review, I really loved the shape of a nice simple tee. Very excited!
I haven’t decided on my spring knits yet. I have the Stella quilt cushion pattern. For garments I’m considering: Sonnestunden Tee, mesh sweater by paulastrickt, sweater no 21, mint rose cardigan, gem sweater, and of course socks
Love your sweater color on you! I’m a winter color season too, and whenever I see a color that looks good on you I find myself wondering if it would look good on me 🤣
I love watching your knitting plans videos. Always some food for thought. On a totally different note, I absolutely love that dusty coral colour on you.
I knit tee no. 1 and I would say the recommended ease doesn’t result in a tee as oversized as pictured. I wish I had knit a size up, or alternatively just knit the sleeves longer.
I can't wait to see and hear how the Wild & Soft works in your tshirt. I'm in 🇨🇦 and could get that yarn thru EweKnit Toronto. All your knitting plans are inspiring. Thanks for sharing
I just went "ditto" I saw your Hygge Burst Blanket as I've been inspired through the IG promo on this. I'm excited to try this and will watch your progress as well. Lucky you have the wool already!
I'm working on the Darling Wrap right now! It's going well but the construction is definitely weird and something I'm not used to. I highly recommend looking at people's ravelry notes because the KFO book instructions are sometimes vague
The wrap cardigans are beautiful, I love the one with negative ease! I’m stash busting by crocheting baskets for around the house. I’m currently sourcing yarn to crochet the Finely blanket by I Can Crochet That, I want a lavender haze sort of purple :). Knitting wise - probably dish clothes and pillow covers 😹 I’m a new knitter (hoping to make a sweater later this year) and haven’t found a first project yet.
When you’re ready, may I suggest a top down raglan? Being able to try it on and make adjustments as I go is super helpful to me. It allows you to accommodate for gauge that maybe slightly off, or body shape that may need deeper armholes etc. Happy knitting. 💜
I enjoyed hearing about your plans. What i tend to do is just go with whatever grabs me, so its always great to benefit from your ideas. I am also attracted to the sari nordlund worsted weight cardi in the short length. I will take a look at that nice yarn you've chosen for it. It is harder for me to find things I want to make in the warmer weather. Joji locatelli has come out with a very lovely summery top though, it has lacey edging. Sorry I don't have the name of the pattern. It's a new one. It's really beautiful.
I really appreciate your breakdown! Might be copying you know with Sari's Kuutar Wrap Cardigan 😂. I haven't made any cardigans yet and I think my wardrobe is definitely in need of them.
I am on the same page as you with summer knits. I tend not to wear hand knit t-shirts as I find them too warm in the summer, and in any case I don’t enjoy working with plant-based fibers. Heidi & Lana have some really nice home wear projects also (she is ‘Margaret’ on Ravelry). I look forward to seeing your plans come to fruition!
Great episode 😊 I'm making tee no 1 right now and its definitely a bit tedious but I'm still enjoying it! I will say there is a lot of unnecessary yarn breaks, but if you plan ahead and adjust things a little you can avoid a lot of them. I talked about how I did it on my channel if you're interested. I hope it helps!
A very nice Podcast ! I recommand you kutovakika, Veronika Lindberg, a designer from Finland. She has an inspiring youtube channel in english with some wonderful cable projects Greetings from Germany

Agree on all points - especially the drinking on camera. Why?

You have your colour season on point!
Awesome Spring list. Love the granny square blanket. Beautiful take on an old standard.
I really love your yarn/colour choices for your projects, that’s something I feel I need work on.

the last crochet blanket looks so much like a sewn quilt!!! it's amazing!!

I am looking forward to the Kuutar cardigan. It’s in my favorites.
Also have the tee 1 on my list so curious what you will think of it, both the yarn and the finishing. Look forward to hearing about it!
Nicely done . Glad you did spring plan on a timely basis and home accessories is good to include in plans

I'm planning on knitting the Ophelia blouse by starcrossed knits!
You are so talented and inspiring!!

I like your plans. I am working on a crocheted bag- Hosta
bag.

It looks like a great list of plans!
I say weaving in the end will be the hardest part ... nice compilation!

Maybe a challenge to crochet the Persian tiles blanket?
Check out the Mia Summer Tee. I am planning on knitting this but I think you might like the pattern.
Thank you great inspiration

Enjoyed the podcast! What about the winner of a Sari Nordland book giveaway?
