    The side vents are not for cooling. They are to help equalize the pressure and prevent the hood from fluttering at highway speeds like the JK.

    • @rmitchell98

      Yes at highway speed it might be for "Hood flutter" BUT he talking about it helping at low speeds with venting heat. So MULTI PURPOSE

      The side vents has nothing to do with the hood. The hood problem is in the latches. If you hold your hand in front of them with the fan running the hot air is venting out of the engine compartment.

      I have a JL with manual trans and soft top. It’s a 19’ and the 20’s were on the lot. I was able to get the dealer to at the rims/tires off of a rubicon to sweeten the deal. I didn’t want a rubi because I mostly run dirt roads and shuttle Boyscouts to camp. There’s a great market for parts people pull off their JL to upgrade.
      It’s not perfect but it’s mine! I have a CJ5 that was my daily driver, so it’s an upgrade for sure!

      The 6-speed manual is great until you stall the Jeep because of the ESS, and I’ve had this occur a few times and it will not restart again until the ECU/PCM powers down. You haven’t lived until you block opposite lanes of traffic simultaneously from making a u-turn and the wrangler literally won’t restart for two minutes.

    Most of your issues have some easy fixes/mods. Ex. Seat issue; remove your front seat bolts/nuts and loosen the rear, drop a couple or more washers in the front on each side to increase your lean angle and retighten.
    Recover your armrest in your preferred material.
    Theres a device to bypass the stop start.

    The EPA rating for the manual 2 door 2019 JL is 20 combined mpg with 350 miles of range. This test is performed with a sport trim vehicle, which has standard all season tires and a 3.45 rear end. The 4.10 rear on the rubicon alone will hurt your highway mpg on paper by 18-19%, and the tires add more roll resistance which will also hurt it. So take a conservative 22% range loss and youre at 273 miles to a tank. These numbers are based on 45% highway and 55% city traffic btw. So while I agree that 273 is rather low for a 2019 vehicle, its understandable.

    I agree about the "auto stop/start". I have the automatic transmission and it's still annoying. I sometimes forget to hit the button when I get in and it's almost unsettling when it turns off at an intersection when you're not expecting it. I wish it would remember it's last setting when you start it up. Also, when you opt for the leather interior it upgrades the armrest to soft touch and contrasting stitching along with the dash. Great video! I really like mine and it is hard to pick things I don't like but the auto stop start is at the top of my list.

    @flossin5025 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    1, yes it does suck having a smaller gas tank, especially after mods your going to get less mileage on a full tank.
    2. Those vents on top of the hood are functional, someone removed the plastic vents and you could see that they are indeed functional.
    3. My leather seats on my 18 JLUR are amazing around, comfortable, adjustability is good, durable and clean up nicely, ive had my jeep in all angles and they keep me planted nicely, hopfully maybe they break in for you or you get use to them.
    4. ESS isn't a problem for me, when I break engine turns off and when I let off the break engine turns on, it does suck that you have two batteries to maintain.
    5. Center console armrest is comfortable, my right elbow rests on there and so does my passengers left arm at the same time. Looks fine to me in my opinion, I also condition it when I do my leather seats, comes out super smooth and Shiney, there is a little wear on it from using it every time I use my jeep.
    6. I don't have this problem since I have a JLUR, not a big deal I would assume, I'd just cover it up when needed and to clean it I'd vacuum I up while playing a heavy bass song and or use a air hose to blow the dirt out but doing it carefully

    Great video. Love 2D Jeeps with a manual transmission. I was getting ready to buy a Rubicon, however, very limited supply due to the Covid-19. I went to place my custom order for one at the dealership and the GM suggested I wait a few weeks to order a 2021 vs a 2020. Jeep Wranglers are expensive, even with my employer program discount (1% under dealership invoice) I'm looking at $53.5K out the door. All options included excluding the cold weather package (I live in TX) and the Rubicon will not be my daily driver (Chevy Silverado). These dealerships do not negotiate. If you live in California they will add a premium over MSRP.

    I think putting that speaker in the back on the floor was a big design flaw, not just because it invites dust, road dirt etc to live in that speaker cone but also if you are going to load up some cargo in there, for example bags of mulch or soil, furniture, tools, whatever, well you may now have that base speaker covered. What good is that? And what happens if you get some rain water on that speaker cone? Hello!.. Why didn't they mount that speaker on the rear door like my Toyota RAV4 Sport? • @Rocscrawler

      Upgrade to "leather"??? I don't think so. I have two jeep wranglers JK's that are supposed to be "LEATHER". When I sat in a $112,000 SRT Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk, the smell of the REAL LEATHER was very obvious. And so was the fact that the Wranglers leather is not real leather. NO LEATHER ODOR AT ALL!! I keep a pair of buffalo skin leather gloves in my Wranglers just to have a little bit of real leather smell.

    • @darcyjousset6615
      @darcyjousset6615 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rocscrawler couldnt tell you about the JK but the JL has a real leather wrapped steering wheel and the seats are for sure leather when you upgrade to leather. that smell is very dependent on what they did to cure the leather and dependent of what type. the leather in the jeep is coated so it holds up to water better so you wouldn't get much of a smell if any. The trackhawk is a whole different animal. that's like comparing a pinto to a rollsroyce. the price tag is almost double the leather is way different and much more plush. Wrangler had to keep everything weather proof cause its not uncommon to get caught out with the roof and doors off. Not an issue with a trackhawk. but yeah way to different of vehicles to compare. one is a convertable off road vehicle the other a luxury suv set up to go fast on the road.

      that was the 2018 because it didn't have lane monitoring and if you hit someone with the jeep there was a high chance they got hurt. oh and no side curtain air bags. that was a European safety rating not American. most American made cars get crappy safety rating because they are too heavy and cause too much damage to other cars when you hit them.

      They get a 2.5 in the states, which is the middle of the pack. One factor for the low rating in Europe is the body on frame construction and steel bumpers. Unibody construction is easier to engineer crumple zones. If European standards were applied to the Wrangler they would lose their off road capability.
