- CGC grading is one of the big 4 sports card grading companies. They are well known for their crystal clear cases and diverse grading offerings. CGC grading provides sports card and TCG grading while being apart of a larger parent company that offers grading of comic books, video games, paper currency, coins, and more. In this video take a quick facility tour and then sit down with Andy (CGC's head grader) to discuss why people should consider sending their sports cards to CGC.
Please reach out to TAG and do an interview with them! Their holder is definitely more clear/transparent!
They have unique take on how cards should be graded
Scottie B. Great work and interview. A big fan of CGC, again an amazing crystal clear slab, consistent and fair grading, great pricing, great customer care and fast turnaround. Just would like to see the market buy the card, not the slab and see the resale value gap close vs PSA. Thanks again.
I wish their secondary market value was higher. Because their cases make every card look gorgeous
Now is a good idea to buy them if you see stuff cheap. Watch some cross over videos. They are a steal at the price
CGC are going to explode for all categories. They have a ton of reputation behind them. I’ve seen several examples on the secondary market sell for the same as PSA. Plus they have the best cases BY FAR.
The video that we didn’t know that we needed! 👏⚾️🔥
Best slab for sure and a good price. PSA still carries a premium on the market but who knows what will happen in ten years.
The inside look and them being transparent is amazing 🤘🍀🔥
Awesome video! Way cool to see behind the scenes and have a transparent conversation
Awesome Scottie! Great interview and thanks for walking us through the CGC process. A+
The quality of their slabs are second to none. Obviously proprietary PSA, SGC and BGS needs to meet that quality.
I agree. Their slab is amazing! Any PC Card will go to them moving forward.
@@scottiebcards2354 same here. Planning to send all my PC Cards to them as my first grading company. I bought a beautiful Luke Kuechly /75 off of eBay auction for $10 and it is a CGC Pristine 10!!! It is the most beautiful slab. I always thought I wanted to go SGC until I got my first graded card which is the Kuechly from CGC. Now every other brands slabs look ugly to me.
PLEASE I BEG YOU CGC, NEVER CHANGE THE CURRENT SLAB 🙏🏻🙏🏻 YOU HAVE THE BEST SLAB ON THE MARKET RIGHT NOW
Hey Scottie! This was great! It's great to see their process and hear their vision. Have you ever been to or will you ever go to any of the other grading companies as well? PSA, BGS, SGC?
On the serious side, this was a really good video, good information. I personally like what CGC is doing, the few times I've subbed to them it's been a smooth, quick, satisfactory experience.
On the less serious side, Andy's necklace and bracelet were super distracting, and it would've been really funny if Scotty had pressured Andy to allow him to try them on. And his rings as well. Basically Scotty should've demanded that Andy hand over all his jewelry. Just a thought.
I love CGC its sister companys (NGC and PMG) as I also collect coins and rare bills
I just wish that CGC will start grading in person autos
You come openly and honestly every time. I appreciate your content and value your opinion. Thank You
Scotty B with a "big time stuff" video. Great video! 😎👍
I have used many grading companies and CGC has been the best experience so far. I will never buy or sell PSA again unless I can get the card for raw value and crack it to send to CGC. I was really high on HGA until I used them, and after having to send back many cards because of flaws in their slabs over and over again, I have written them off for good. I like SCG as well but their slabs are nowhere near as nice as CGC. I am also very interested in TAG but I am holding off on them to see what happens with them, they have had far too many changes to their grading strategy lately and it worries me, but I like the idea of having a grading report you can look up and see exactly where all of the flaws are. CGC please take note of what TAG is doing.
I can see CGC overtaking SGC for baseball cards. The holder is leagues above.
Geez, what are the odds the head of company is right there to greet ya?
CGC slabs are definitely my favorite.
I only wish they brought back sub grades
Nice video. Always love to see what’s behind that door and see the process….
You definitely see the human aspect of the grading process. When you get an 8 or 9 back for what you looked over being a flawless gem mint and you see a dinged corner and say not sure how i missed that. Well now we know. A grader let the card slip out of there hand and it hit their desk or keyboard. Curious to know if they are being recorded as they grade these cards. (Goes for all grading companies)
Awesome video Scott. Very informative and helpful. Has made me want to grade with them now. I hope you do more of these types of videos in the future
I do think subgrades was one of cgc 's positives!
That illustrator is not Gem Mint 10!
That was cool. Thanks for your efforts of putting that together.
Do they Grade Thicker cards and Booklets?
Seems like a really cool company and I agree that the slabs are much cleaner
Now I see how cards get damaged in the capsulation process.
Literally my first thought too!
Definitely....the way she just throws the cards in the slab, quickly snaps in the bottom piece...😳
What video were you watching if you think she was throwing cards? Nothing wrong with how she was handling them.
It’s the nails for me… I’ve gotten cards back with what looks like a nail dent.
all the grading companies with welders do the same thing.
I love the video and thank you for the extensive content with this company. I wanted to know what was up with the guy grading the card at the beginning of the video without any gloves on? Isn't wearing gloves while grading a card the industry standard? Our bodies produce oil constantly so why would he not protect his oils from getting on our cards? Is there some final stage of grading where they clean the card somehow?
Seems like a good company and honest guy. I’ll try them out!
2:30 The way she placed the card might have just damage the card tbh....you misplace the card and slide it into the correct position ? CGC should take note of this
Would have been nice to hear what the turn around times were for cards.
Usually about 60 days for their basic service.
Cgc has knocked Beckett off the podium!!
I was such a fan of CSG when they first started. I appreciated the green labels, strict grading and providing subgrades as an option. Then they ruined everything for me and I went back to PSA. I wish them the best of luck but I’m just not a fan today.
Great video sir
I buy graded coins. Unless it’s NGC or PCGS, the value isn’t there with other graders. I’m not an Expert but the PSG cards go for a higher premium. That’s my bottom line. It’s an investment
Please share with us the cards you had graded while at CGC.
Whens the next CSG academy?!
Wish more grading companies were more open and transparent at their facilities
If you care about the quality of the card, cgc is top tier. If you care solely of the companies name on the slab and not the quality of the card then psa is it.
Their sports card numbers are still brutal every month according to gem rate. Their TCG floats them for sure
Shouldn't you put a disclaimer saying they paid you to do this video?
Hi David, they didn’t pay me to do this video. The only thing they paid for was my flight there.
His glasses look like a CGC holder.
Hey Scotty B- my son is selling his Mookie Betts 2023 Topps Big League Big Leaguers PSA 10. Are you interested?
Scottie do you live in Florida?
They will never be relevant
PSA or not at all.
Horrible customer service, horrible turn around times, crazy prices, inconsistent grading. They are far from perfect.

And cgc is the best slab on the market
Anyone else get a bit uneasy when they see the person nonchalantly transferring the card from the sleeve to the unfinished slab. This is always the part of the process that needs WAY more attention / WAY higher level of care in my opinion.
New Sub!!! I just did a grading video and chose CGC. Thanks for the cool tour
I do not like how that woman puts the cards in the slab.
Great job Scott!!! I would love if they closed the gap.
Thanx Scottie you know im big fan of cgc awesome vid, I got a 1950 Ted Williams at cgc now they're all I use..
Great video as I prep my first CGC sub!
Super great interview. And so now I’m guessing you’re gonna end up searching for PSA, BSG, and SGC headquarters as well to conduct similar interviews?
Nice video Scottie! Good to see you out and about! 😆 It is really nice to see the inner workings and process of these companies! Can't believe that machine sonically welds that slab together in like .5 seconds!!!! Daaaaaaaaang. I think PSA's machine takes about 1 day per card!!!
Changing the blue label and removing sub grades was a huge mistake. No point trying to be PSA. They already exist.
I like CGC, but them nails, scare me and she is touching the Card's with her bare hands 😮 oils are know on them Card's. SMH 🙄
Please do better and make her take them nails off. And make sure she wears cloves on both hands, not just One. SMH 🙄
They really let her handle people's cards with nails like that?......
I think she uses the nails to speed up pulling the cases apart. I went back and watched, she’s a pro, her left hand never touches the card.
She's good 👍 👌
@@carsyncruz 3:20
@@user-dx6jt4cd9wgo back and watch how she slid that thing out of there. Her nails never even touched the sleeve. She’s got magic hands, could have been a surgeon with how steady they are. Haha
@@user-dx6jt4cd9w I should have said her nails not hand. You were right too.
Why is the video so jumpy? Is that supposed to be an artistic effect? It detracted from just enjoying the interview. I know other people do something similar and it’s just too annoying. I couldn’t keep watching.
It’s edited
We have coins and comics graded by them .im happy with them moving into sports cards.
I think you guys at CGC are doing a good job!...
Nice job 👏🏼
Sick
People need to stop going to psa they are not a good grading company so many psa 1p at shows thar are not 10s
CSG slab prices going up to 50% cheaper than psa for sports….buy the card not the slab. The golden egg is TCG and super hero. Too tough to compete against psa on sports.
Why is that? They defintely have better slabs than PSA. THEY have better TAT than PSA. The only difference is people love PSA because of the registry and the ROI. THE ROI is mainly because people discount their CGC slabs to PSA. The hobby has spoken, but for my PC I only grade with CGC. THE INFLUNCERS and all of the card platforms use PSA comps as the standard. I hope they keep progressing. PSA currently is my flipping choice, until the hobby says otherwise, but CGC for PC. Great video.
Scott you out here looking like you 46 man 🤣
youre on COMC and I love it ... fair prices and easy to use. and I love the way the holder looks. i have 3 of them now i graded from comc . please keep prices low lolo
