Thanks Andy...would a manufacturer's cut that leaves a little fuzz on the edge affect the grade negatively? Outside of the fuzz, edges appear the be in great shape.
Hi when you talk about corners, I just happen to have a pokemon card which are rounded, and mine happens to have 2 corners still partially attached...wound that be an error?
Black lights are used in the process. We will get the team to work on a video about how black light is used as that is an essential tool for graders. Thanks.
@3:20 yeah to go with my @1:45 comment. Have the holder adjustable (up and down) and pretend the case holder that u put the card in is a car phone mount lol.... or even better an old school desk lamp design for easy imagination
@1:45 why hand rulers? Why not make a little slab/table that the card sits in and on top there's a ruler so it's perfect every time? Or even make put a edges of a case holder into a table and all u gotta do is put a holder case over it that has measurements.... once again fool proof way and no human error
okay but for real, why don't I ever see people wearing gloves when pulling packs or grading? Something to do with a more delicate handling of the cards? Nitrile gloves these days can be very thin and some even have a special surface on the finger pads that mimics the tiny grooves of a fingerprint (for better tactility). It seems Oil from fingers would likely reek havoc on certain card types...but idk...
My first time, interesting video and very educational, especially like fisrt timer like me. Congrats sir and CGC
Do you grade the edges before you ruin them cleaning the surface???
Very informative, thanks Andy.

What if I have 4200 mostly baseball cards and unopened packs of Donruss maybe 1987. How do I get these graded and prepared to sell????
Love the honesty, it's a total crap shoot with a lot of room for human error etc.
This was awesome information.
Yezzir!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Thanks for showing the grading process to us. Do you use black light as well to figure out ink spots and alterations of the card?

Nice - curious for this section.

Also, different lighting and glasses
I always thought Graders just gave me grades based on how bad of a day they are having.

Wonder when they are gonna take my cards to grade school.....been a whole month in recieved.
Amazing video, and only 950 views 😭❤
How long does this process generally take per card? Also I’m assuming more time is dedicated to bigger cards? Thanks for the video!
As you saw in the video.. this is the old way.. and a computer does it in 7 seconds..
Awesome video new sub
Can’t wait for all the “I can’t believe they don’t wear gloves” comments to start! 😂

@@bradlonkey3224 There's a video on that coming up!
Never wear covers when grading a card! Ever
I can’t believe they don’t wear gloves
No way you're getting a 10 with that much card molesting.
