    That was so well explained. I love using DPN's but have never used this method to distribute the stitches evenly. I'm amazed at how much easier it is to get started and not having needles flopping around or trying to twist.

    I'm SO intimidated by DPN's......I've been knitting for about 3 or 4 years now and never tried it. I've always wanted to learn but it SCARES me lol😂
    A quick story.....last year I sat on one of my bamboo straight needles and broke it in two. I kept both pieces thinking I'd find a use for them somewhere. Last week I deliberately broke the other needle,so I had 4 pieces,then sharpened both ends with an electric pencil sharpener. They're a little short,but now I have a set of DPN's lol.
    I also have a new grandson on the way,and I think this baby hat just might be my dive into the world of DPN knitting🤞🏻your instructions make it seem so easy~!! 😬🥢🧶

    • @nobleknits
      @nobleknits  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vivienne, for anyone else, I might say..take it slow..HOWEVER, after what you just told me about your feather & fan shawl and Celtic blanket, you need to dive right in! Double points are easy and I show you exactly how to use them step-by-step in the video. You might like a set of metal dpns so you don't have to worry about them breaking! 😀

    Just finished the hat. Not perfect,but that was me, it's the first time I've tried knitting with 5 dpns. And I tried doing stripes as well. They were straight, so I guess that's something. Thanks for helping me get over my fear of dpns, I'll keep working on it.

    • @nobleknits
      @nobleknits  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@helenjharris7608 It sounds like you are doing a loop (aka thumb cast on). That extra yarn appears because it's a somewhat flimsy cast-on. If you just keep knitting, it should go away after a few rounds. However, you might want to try the long-tail cast-on. It's a sturdier cast-on and my go-to for most projects...plus, you won't have that extra yarn problem. Here's a link to it: th-cam.com/video/2I6mVxttK-w/w-d-xo.html I have not yet made this hat using a #3 dk weight yarn. Have fun making your baby hat project! 😀
