- Father's Day weekend Part 2, we set off from Glass Buttes on our way to our next stop close to the Oregon Sunstone Mining Camps. Wind got the better of us the night before along with a diesel heater that was acting up, we were on the hunt for a nice quiet site, and desert weather had other plans for us
Wow! Mother Nature really put in a show for you guys, between the awesome sunset and the rain and snow! Loved the video!
Sure did!!! Was not expecting this storm at all! Especially the snow! 😳 Thank you!!!
Beautiful opening scene. Relaxing with your dog while drinking a coffee overlooking that beautiful view. That is the life. When I think of Oregon I think of huge trees, but it looked totally desolate in the part you were in. The sunsets out west are so much better than the east coast. Good thing you got out of that mud. It could have been worse. 👍
Thank you!! I like to try to capture to true peacefulness of being out in the wild. It’s exactly what mornings are like. This is the high desert of Eastern Oregon so it looks vastly different than the west side of Oregon.
Mud in the desert would seem like an oxymoron, but anybody who has had to work their way out of it after getting completely bogged in three inches of glue-like clay can tell you it is no joke. Marshall was absolutely right to be worried about getting out.
For sure!
The scenery out there is something to behold! Truly amazing country, beautiful sunset! That mud though, and these RAMs are heavy! Good job getting out of there!
Couldn't agree more!
That rain was a mess! Glad you made it out without any issues. That playa can be such a mess when it's saturated. Great video guys! Loved it!
Thanks guys! It’s sure can get scary really quickly.
ah unexpected weather... the excitement you didn't want
Definitely not! Being June, we figured we would have a nice sunny weekend. Was not in the forecast at all.
I was feeling your stress as you drove out, Don't hit the gas too hard and spin, hope for no hills, not stopping for any reason don't show fear and get to hard pack :) I got stuck in the snow with my wife and dog in my Rebel. 300lbs of sand and brand new tires - slid into a ditch. Took 2hrs with help and we got out and the sun warmed the snow and wasn't sure if we were going to get back to the snow park or not.. Made it and slammed a beer!
Beer well deserved after that! Stressful in the moment, but it kind of makes the best memories.
10:56 Yeah I was going to say we will blast ours on “high” for a little while in an attempt to keep it cleared. I have no idea if it actually works but after a few years I’ve never had to take it apart.
I’ve heard the same… I also think since going to the side it’s a little more susceptible to clogging up. I have another idea for a redesign to go back to upright I’ll work on soon
Nice job getting out of that mud. That was such a nice location too. What model Falkens are you running?
