Damian Kamineth I don't really know why but I don't like the way he plays.. Have you some songs from him you could recommend for me to discover him ?
While listening to that section, I realized I couldn't keep time on a regular quarter note pulse nor 8th notes, so I figured it out by counting in 16th notes, it amazed me to find out it is 5 bars of 5/16th plus 1 bar of 7/16th, so at the end you got 32/16th total, which can be simplified in 2 bars of 4/4, but the permutation of the accents is what makes it sound that crazy, Devon's monstrous time keeping while soloing blew me away even more after I figured that whole section, f***ing BEAST!
in my opinion, this right up there with the greatest drum solos ever. Such a creative kit set up, yet extremely well used in a musically relevant way.
