This is dope! For all talking about the song; it's about the drumming behind the track, not the song itself! Any drummer should learn to just play through a song, whether they don't like it or not! Causes one to become more creative. #MyOpinion Good shit Devon!!!!
@@godly_intellect222 that’s definitely not how the industry works nowadays lol pocket is cool but patterns and spot playing is what the artist want they want the excitement of a band if not they wouldn’t use one.
hey quick question the fill that starts at 3:26, are you doing thirty second notes on your kick and accenting on cymbals and toms? Are you doing double on the kick while doing tom fills? How would you break that lick down?
put youtube at 0.5 or 0.25 speed and listen, take 4 notes at a time and tried to get it completely memorized... Then play it over and over again with increased speed and BOOM there you go :D
While I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, please consider some of what might be going on: I do not believe this video showcases the depth of his playing abilities; What it is like to play a track for the artist, not yourself; and finally, any lick on TH-cam is up for grabs. Just a few thoughts. Great drummer! I wish him the best on all his future endeavors!
When Devon was born, the doctor said "Congratulations, it's a metronome!"

SOOOOOO GOOD!
3:00-3:05 Im speechless...
Why are you speechless?
yeah why?
I mean... it sounds good but it's not hard at all, just a normal snare roll, so I don't get why you would be speechless.
Its not even a roll, it's just two right hand diddles mixed in with a fast tempo
The impresive thing is the creativity man...
tight
damn I enjoyed Tht bro......
That's one thick plyed snare. Wonder how many ply is that?

Same question 4 years later 😀
Looks like double bass to me
@@adamo36532 he doesn’t use a double pedal
What drum mics?
he looks like bow wow eyes
looking for that low cymbal on the far right
Yo, somebody please break down 2:12! I cannot get that lick to save my life
damn
If someone knows the fill at 0:55 can the person please reply with a breakdown?
yeah, so basically what it is is just a shit ton of chops that none of us will ever be able to have so we might as well quit.
no quitting bro. you will get there one day
David Suttles Jr. Lmao! That "what am I doing with my life?, drive", huh? Too funny.
its actually not as hard as it seems, it's just hard to make out exactly what he's playing because of the compression and tuning of his drums

what kindaa head is that? ?
Snare - Remo P77 Clear, Toms - Remo Ebony Pinstripe ...
I give up
Why this dude chocks the sticks so much? It is hard to breath while watching him play... Pretty weird... And very unpleasant... :-(
The music is trash but he makes it cool
Why would you choose this song??? bad choice
roderick coffey It might have been just to show versatility. A gd drummer can make a bad song sound good. Great job; deep pocket with precise fills!
No I follow him.. I like him and his style just my opinion
roderick coffey Well, he did used to play for her... those are all the songs he toured on
