Yes, when Peter talked, Cloughie listened. After pulling off "The Great Escape" for the Rams in 1983, it's hard to imagine that things could go so wrong a year later !
Great man will always remember 83 Better tactician than Clough That team of 88/90 was class We should have probably done a bit better but it was great time to be a ram
In his prime Peter Shilton was fantastic. As a shot stopper and organising his defence, he was peerless. In the air he was not so hot and, by 1990, when penalty time arrived he was terrible.
" Clemence ", He may have won more but he was with Liverpool that's why. Shilton was way better than Clemence and should have won far more caps instead of playing in alternate internationals, what a fucking farce that was!
Maybe Shilton on longevity, but Neville Southall was the best keeper in the world for most of the 80's. Southall at his best was better than Shilton at his best.
@Puppy 1975 I said he was the best keeper for MOST of the decade which made him the keeper of the 80's. Shilton had longevity but no keeper matched Nev at his peak. I also didn't say he was at his peak for a decade.
Peter Taylor, one half of a legendary partnership. Nobody was a better judge of players than Peter, he was the best.

If only Shilton knew how to react to penalties...
Taylor was always a good listen sadly missed 💖🙏💖
I agree 100%. The man was a legend.
Derby finished 5th
Shilt's 125 caps says it all!!!
You had me looking for someone called Shilt's in the comments using CAPS TO RAGE.... Then I realised.. Derpa derp me. lolol
He was almost 41 you know
Great man will always remember 83

Shilton seemed to give up on penalities.
Shilton was the best!
Defo Trevor Francis's dad..
Robert Maxwell then ruined Derby a few years later.
''At 40 to 1 with some bookmakers''. Try 5,000 to 1.It has happened.
clemance won more than any them from 1973 to 1982 then he went to spurs
" Clemence ",
He may have won more but he was with Liverpool that's why.

@@CB-xr1eg Clemence was good - Shilton was world class - much better than Clemence. Shilts can be compared with Banks
Shilton was much much better than Clemence
You all wrong clemence was a better goalkeeper shot stopping position penalty saves better organisation the lot.
So sad both these guys fell out.
Neville Southall was far better than Shilton in the late 80’s and I m a liverpool fan.
Nigel Martyn was better than Shilton and Southall.
Dream on
Miles behind Shilton at his best, shilts was the best in the world when at forest
Chris lightning Neville Southall was great and then suddenly all the pies went missing and missing and missing
@@tonywarren5031 Absolutely. People have short memories and I am not a Forest fan. It's the truth.

Derek Thomson racing nuisance commentary
Loved Peter Taylor , but what utter shit, Shilton couldn't tie Southalls boots
" Shilton couldn't tie Southalls boots "
Nor could Southall, he was so fucking fat, he couldn't even SEE his boots!! Hahahahahahahaa.
Shilton's prime was in the 70s and early 80s. By the late 80s Southall was far better.
