Incorrect information. Any gross vehicle weight rating 26,000 lbs and under is considered non-CDL. Any gross vehicle weight rating above 26,001 lbs you need a Class A or B CDL depending on the gross vehicle weight rating.

question brother, on the NON CDL set up where you have the trailer D rated to 12k GVWR, does that mean you can only put total 12k lbs of car curb weight on the trailer. so basically two cars 6k LBS each max. i was thinking about getting the ram2500 single axel trademans 2023 since it weights less and GVWR is 10k lbs, i would be able to get a trailer of 14k lbs and basically have myself more weight to carry? i am NON CDL so wanted to know if its possible to do 3 cars? or would i have to stick to 2 cars?

I wouldn’t know that tbh, I would for sure probably just drive for a company first out west.

@@entremike I would recommend going out and driving for fuel companies. They pay great with benefits and it’s a company gig. No crazy unloading either

It depends on if he still owes a note on his equipment, fuel, and other reoccurring operational costs. Probably still raking in 26k net per month.

I just dont get why anyone would wanna do this. You literally sleeping in the front seat of your truck with no leg room. Not only that you can't even carry as much as a semi and probably have to fill up more often

The cost of equipment licensing fees restrictions maintenance and even fuel are alot more manageable in a dually vs a commercial rig. one super single replacement on the side of the road will cost you 1000+ flying j road side assistance is where i learned this

@@stirlingmoore yeah but your payout is way less. And you’re only limited to doing flatbed. Its stupid. It’s okay to have a couple of these with addition of a couple semi trucks in a company but just running hot shot come on dude just go get your cdl you look ridiculous

@@MayorMcheese12 What do you think about starting with a dually and then graduating to a semi? I ask because I planned on getting started with hotshot because I have a nice Tahoe that I can trade towards getting a dually and that will lower my barrier to entry cost and let me learn the ropes before I hop straight into a semi truck. I also have 2 sons who just turned 21 who might not be comfortable jumping straight into semi loads. Just questions, I don’t know much at all about trucking so any advice would be appreciated.

@@hydrostatic3g that’s why you go to a trucking school man not everyone grew up driving trucks. There’s companies that will give you your cdl in a week or two. Yeah you’ll have an automatic restriction but you can now drive a big truck Simple as that. Driving a pickup isn’t going to change your comfort of driving a big truck. Just got to get out there and do it.
