I was thinking the same exact thing. Set in the 1880s post-Civil War or the 1920s during prohibition. Either way, it's about a bunch of moonshiners/country boys vs a Wendego. I'd watch the hell out of it. And not be able to sleep for a year

Yes, the implication is it was during prohibition and the "strangers" where revenuers who will killed by moonshiners which is what the line " corn in a jar" means......I have lived in East TN all my life , rural East TN.....song is upbeat but very dark in some places

This song hits so hard especially after watching the videos of all the damage done to Tennessee, my thoughts and prayers are with all the people that were affected by the storm.
The news doesn't show it, but wva and va also got major damage. My town was lucky to not have it as bad as others, but one not too far off from me is gone now.

@@hellrazer4565t I live in East TN. My town suffered a good bit of damage, but it's no where near the damage in Erwin. They took a pretty big hit, Asheville was cut off from the world for several days, Chimney Rock NC has been wiped off the map. To say that i'm fortunate to be able to keep everything is a huge understatement. I'm continuing to pray for those that were affected and I know better days are coming for these folks.

I wish they’d make a movie where some Chinese or Russian paratroopers land out in Appalachia. Bobcat screams echoing through the woods and this song playing out in the distance coming from the same direction. They’re being hunted down and picked off by hillbillies and has the atmosphere and theme of a horror movie like Wrong Turn or The Hills Have Eyes, but instead of being a horror movie you’re like “fuck yeah, ‘merica”
