Son of George Bluth Sr. they started using it in 2000. Metallica was “relevant” then. If you want to take a shot at VT, then get on them about stealing the entrance music used by the Yankees for Mariano Rivera. They started in 1999 and used it for 2 seasons when their All Star closer was coming in from the bullpen.

Notre Dame fan who made the trip to Blacksburg. Amazing college town. VT fans were friendly and very welcoming. Lane Stadium is one of the best sporting venues I have ever been too. I still get goosebumps watching this. Glad I made the trip! Go Irish!

I have a brother who goes to Notre Dame but my parents are VT so we have season tickets to VT and it was one of the coolest things ever.
This is why I prefer to watch College over the NFL. It's all about PRIDE!!!
And energy level.much greater passion and energy. I can fall asleep to most NFL games plus the NFL has assclown announcers like Cris Collingsworth and Tony Romo.

As a Florida State fan and a hardcore Metallica lover, I envy Virginia Tech so much because, in my opinion, this is legitimately the coolest entrance in all of college football!!!!
As a Hurricane fan, i think Chief Osceola coming out on the horse and Seminole chat at the Doak, is the best. However' VT Sandman is very cool, and looks fun.

Hat's off to ESPN for the best coverage of a VT game opening ever! The multiple camera angles, inclusion of Metallica opening (and continuation of the song - finally!) really capture the amazing spirit that's present in the stadium. Awesome!

As an Oregon State fan who lives in VA because of the Navy I was able to go to last years clemson game and this game. Lane Stadium is truly the most hype stadium I’ve been to ever. And I literally just went to Happy Valley for the Penn State vs Ohio State game last week so that’s saying something

I’m a Clemson fan and was there for the game last year! Amazing fans! At least 6 people asked me how the drive was and welcomed me!
I was at the game with my parents. I'm a VT alum and my dad is a ND alum. VT had the lead at halftime, but then played a terrible 2nd half and ND won. I was very disappointed, but I was glad to experience the game with my parents. They live in NY and I live in FL, so we don't always see each other. But experiences like this is what you will remember forever.

Ok. I'm from England and while I follow the NFL (Go Packers!) I know nothing about college football. I've just watched this and I must say that having the team run on to Enter Sandman is one of the most completely brilliant things I've seen and I am now a VT fan. Go Hokies!

Played there in 2000 with the University of Akron. When I heard that intro I got a little intimated and hype at the same time, it was a cool experience. We lost 53-23 but we put up over 500 yards of offense up that day.

I was in high school when this song came out. Everytime I see one of VT videos, it brings chills to my skin remembering our pep assemblies to this song. And it was myself and I friend I have to this day's job, to scream out the...Yaaa-aaa-yaaah! It was the closest I ever came to being a rockstar. This is on my bucket list, to experience this in the flesh. Until then......GO HOKIES!!!!!!

I just left Cali (Bay Area - August 4th) to go to Egypt since my wife's visa expired in April & she was stuck there due to Covid 19 (not being able to renew her visa & our immigration route has came to a halt). Not wanting to talk my wife in letting me take our 4 year old daughter back to tUSA, I finally left to come to Egypt. I've been here off & on since 2013 so no big deal. At least we are not forced to wear masks, things are all open and no restrictions unless you're a tourist.

I live in Christiansburg, 15 miles from Lane Stadium. I went to the game as an Irish fan. The people on here bragging and rubbing it in the face of the Hokies for losing are not embracing the totality of the experience of being in the stadium while they Hokies enter are lame. As an experienced college football stadium enthusiast, by far, top 5 experience ever.
Behind both the Loud House ((Carrier Dome)) and whatever they call Clemson's stadium ((I think Death Valley?))

Born 7 miles from ND, currently live 1.5 miles from the ND campus and work at ND.. Seen most of the ND home games since 1977 and I must say that right there was simply BAD ASS!! Morphed any opening ND has been able to produce and that is saying something..

I'm from the UK, so I don't follow American football that much, but it just absolutely amazes me, the attendance, following and atmosphere that college football has. Just madness! I'm hoping to visit the USA in 2024, so I'll definitely try and take in a game at some point.

This was my first VT game as a student. Unforgettable.
I saw Body Count open for Metallica at the Oakland Coliseum in Sept 1992, probably the most violent show I ever witnessed...it was on the baseball field where the A's play...50-60 foot wide mosh pits in every direction...grass and dirt thrown everywhere...bloody faces and fights galore...and that was just for Body Count 6)
