    Enjoyed your info. I bought one. I travel 5 miles each day to work 3x per week. I charge once a week. (I also disconnected the speed limit. It goes 21 mph approximately 55-60 miles per charge. I'm 6'3" and weight is 185 lbs.

      I unlocked, about 9 miles throttle only, per bar. Does that sound right ? How long is your commute unlocked?

    THAT is a cute little bike, and the range is crazy.
    you do a fine job of hitting all the Question marks for a bike like this with a REAL WORLD testing.
    Great job Citizen

    One of the very few ebikes that have a front mudguard / fender mudflap that actually stops the dirt going straight into the chain / chain ring, et-al. Incredible that no one ever talks about such an important feature, in wet countries, as well as dusty, i.e. everywhere!?

    Such a cool little bike, I'm 180 pounds 5,10 and fits perfect I run around flats/steep inclines and use 70% assist 3 and 30% unlocked 20mph, im getting 50 miles soooo comfy to ride and feel very safe on this as it's low gravity and the bike weighs 24kg, I've added 2x wing mirror and took of the stock tyres for vans cult 14x2.2. Got a vespa vibe The build is very good. Recommend

    I was not ready for the size of the battery. I thought my Rize, at 48 X 16 was a nice size. After closing my mouth from the shock I wondered if that battery would fit my Bolt X. They are the same type of battery (I'm not fond of leaving the key in the battery either) so if it would work out would be a great update for me and my ebike. Great review as always, Citizen. 🙂

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if the battery would fit the rize bolt but if it did man what an upgrade, haha, this battery is crazy, I think even bigger than those triangle bag batteries.

    This looks like a great "last mile" commuter e-bike. Small enough to go in the Trunk, Train or Bus. Park or disembark at a distance from work and e-bike in the last leg.

      Its a scooter with a seat I'm 220 lbs 6' 5" top milage I would need is for a twenty mile round trip but a non removable key is a major major drawback . I would have to tale the 13 lb battery in with me . A non removable key indicates it for joy riding only. That blow my mind. Even joy riding anyone would want to stop in a country or convince store

    Another through and enjoyable review! That range is crazy, and leaves me wondering if I should go with this, or a Lectric XP2 at the same price for a 10 year old. This seems like a better physical fit, but the 15mph is gonna have me pulling my hair out waiting for her all the time.

      It's not a down grade. Right now the L3 is the most powerful mini ebike on earth. That's no down GRADE. I've got 76 miles from mine on a single charge. Nothing sub $1000 touches this gem.

    • @niteblaster1
      @niteblaster1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Real-life range on road with hills is about 50 miles
      Throttle only
      I don't think any other e-bike even gets close to that 😎
      I've got two of these and I've done 3,400 miles on one of them
      I use sports tracker
      Because there is no odometer, I go 10.4 miles a day, 5 days a week then I charged it, I only have to pedal on the steep hills,
      I can ride up hills that are so steep you would not believe it 🤣
      I have fit kenda 14 x 2.125
      The tyres that are on it when it's new are so puncture prone and they are too thin and makes the bike feel a bit unstable, the kenda are very tough and I've not had a puncture yet in about 6 weeks,
      I was getting two or three punctures a week it was driving me mental 😱

      @@CitizenCycle925 You're welcome! Yeah, I came across it while looking for a fat tyre mountain ebike. Really like the look of it, great price but changed my mind when I seen several videos showing some dodgy issues. If the company resolve the issues, such as tyres not fitting properly, questionable electronics, controller wobbling around inside the bottom of the seat post, not a waterproof cover protecting it, (I seen one retailer with a disclaimer stating you shouldn't really ride it up steep hills, rough ground et al using only the throttle in case it damages the motor and controller...), it might be a good investment. Probably put you off purchasing one now, lol.

  • @standart425
    @standart425 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    As I understand it - Looks great but illegal (or no longer classed as a "bike") in UK and EU (unless on private land). Ebikes can't have throttle that allows movement without pedalling (except you could argue one that has a max speed of - I think - 4mph without pedalling using legislation not directly concerned with bikes). If you pedal, bit of a grey area, but you could probably argue that you could use the throttle plus pedalling to get to 15 mph ('ish - legislation is in kilometres) legal maximum, but if you stop pedalling throttle must cut out automatically (this is the big problem!). So to ride it legally in UK and EU just using throttle it would be classed as motor scooter (sic) and require relevant driving licence , motorbike compliant helmet, insurance etc. I am travelling to the EU where (at least some EU countries) are more proactive about enforcing these laws than seems to be the case in UK (no doubt after some deaths/accidents and a susequent public outcry this will become a hot topic and the UK government will have to act and follow EU countries, and others around the world, in actually enforcing these safety laws!). I believe some people put screws in throttle to make it impossible to use at all, or some tape it up, or disable from controller etc. Whether this would be enough to comply legally I don't know. I am considering one of these and I was intending to use it mainly just using throttle so hopefully I'm wrong about the above so please correct anything I've got wrong!

  • @Ohmman
    @Ohmman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Leaving a comment here as a placeholder for review, because I like this thing so much more than my Razor Ecosmart HD, because that thing would die in less than 40 minutes in a hilly area even if I walked it up hills, and if it dies it basically becomes a useless pos. if THIS bike dies, at least I can PEDAL AND walk it somewhere to charge it again. You're not going to want to buy a spare battery to switch off because the batteries are 500 bucks LOL.
    There's a way to break speed as a little factory hack, so you can go from 25km/h (15m/h) to 40km/h (25m/h) but why would you do that and ruin the ride time? I guess it depends on speediness and length throughout the week for personal preference. I'm a very light girl, 125 - 130lbs or so, plus any attachments might bring it up to 140lbs 150lbs or so, I bet I can get a lot of mileage out of it.
