I love the nobility of the brass harmonies. I think the rhythm they went with for the chorus at 3:01 is really interesting and compelling! The arrangement and orchestration feels so much like a stoic march to the end; unhindered by worry and doubt.

Can we just stop and reflect on the fact that a single franchise has been responsible for some of the most iconic melodies in all of video games and that it has consistently done so over DECADES all in service to the telling of some of the most epic and sweeping stories in all media... well done. I am in awe. These songs bring back memories and transport me back to decades to specific places and times surrounded by some of my most cherished experiences.
And it's bettet than it's ever been.
There are plenty of criticisms you can level against the Final Fantasy series and the various games in it, but you have to admit that it has had some legendary music.
The harmony, the chorus i can't tell you how strongly that knocked me over, incredible I'm stunned

Maybe I'm over reaching for meaning here, but I love the idea that he dosn't sing the last verse "Four-fold knowing, no end in sigh" at the end, because there's not 4 anymore after you beat Elidibus, just Venat

I really love this rendition. Its not as bombastic as the original, but it drives forwards just as much. Its a march with a lot of staccato background melodies, reinforcing the story of Elidibus marching forward towards a fate he's bound to, along with the warrior of light. Its melancholy and a beautiful rendition. They may use the primals version in the ultimate, but i hope they use this.
Don't worry, they usually use the Orchestral versions. If you look at DSR and TOP for instance, they don't use the Primals versions, they just use the Eorzea Symphony covers

This is weirdly heroic compared to the tragic tone of the original song.
The same fight, same song, just in a different reality where the Warrior of Darkness truly was the fiend in need of vanquishing that the Ascians saw them as. Edit: Merely saying it's fun to envision this as the theme of such an occurrence, not that that's the intent of this alternative composition.

Spreading out before you stand 13 members of The Convocation, phantoms perhaps - yet no less dangerous._

Imagine an Ultimate where we fight the Ascians one by one and Elidibus as the final boss. There's an intermission and this starts playing and he changes to his Warrior of Light form.
I cannot wait to hear this in an Ultimate fight, regardless of the scenario above!

Sadly, probably a nay. This is the actual orchestral performance's performance, they had somebody singing along with the orchestra. So unless somebody makes an edit...
@@dawk7 oof. Sorry this is a few months late, but thanks for letting me know. I WISH I could edit this myself, but I have heard of other youtubers who are pretty good at making instrumentals. Another shot in the dark, but any idea if someone comes to mind? I feel like they'd want to tackle this. If not, that's fine too. Your help is appreciated :)
@@optimaltt6070 Can't say I'd know... Maybe "Sleeping Penguin" has uploaded something? I know they had an instrumental of Dedicated to Moonlight. 14 has me mostly satisfied with the base music so I haven't searched instrumentals all that much, hahah.

Goddamn Shadowbringers was good.
Not to be a pisser, but the song feels decapitated without the 2nd verse. It's like if they never made a 2nd Nolan Batman film. Yeah, the first one's pretty good, but holy smokes the 2nd one was incredible.
And yet every version besides the original seems to keep removing it. The Primals version, the orchestral version...I don't know why they butcher this wonderful song either.
For a song this amazing, they had the opportunity to go all out. Kinda disappointed they didn't try and take it further. Oh well, at least I have the original.
