Finally, a proper bout with Elidibus. No masks, no mistaken identity, the truest form of the Emissary. And this song the best companion to such a duel.
@@ChazzWingman It was never a secret. Before the raid series even began you could tell it has him due to his voice during the stinger at the end of 6.0.
This was technically before the Final Days, whereas Emet's vision was built after thousands of years of agony and desolation. Though, both of them are quite fitting to represent the Ancients' background as a whole. Like day and night. Light and dark.
@@seasonaldates It... isn't though. We're informed in the aftermath that this is actually Elidibus's soul. Not just a collection of memories given form, like Erichtonius and Lahabrea is. This Elidibus is the very same Elidibus that sent us off to Elpis in the first place. The one we fought in the Crystal Tower. Which also, I guess, implies that Venat's soul is also out there somewhere. Elidibus did spend his entire being to do this, after all.
@@SeralyneYT I believe the idea is that their souls slowly dissipate back into the flow and lose their individuality, but its a slow and gradual process.
This raid just emphasized Elidibus was such a damn workaholic that it literally took an Ancient who had partially ascended to godhood, her alien rock capable of amplifying emotions and altering reality, and literal death just to get him to do something other than his job
I like to think the reason Azem made Elidibus investigate Pandaemonium in their stead is because they knew that having him go undercover and investigate an SCP containment breach, a mission which is more in the Traveler's lane than in the Emissary's, is the closest thing to a vacation that he would ever willingly agree to.
The fact that Themis reveals in the end that he has some of the memories of the soul he was created from and still wanted this last clash as rivals, not bitter enemies, and then finally calls us his friend I think is not just a great ending to Pandaemonium, but to the ShB/EW arc and to the story of the Ascians as a whole. Such a well told story and Pandaemonium is such a good epilogue to it.
Wait so what you're saying is that Themsis had all (if not most) of the memories of modern day Elidibus. Effectively meaning Elidibus assumed the form of his young self?
@@angel.feathers Not all of them, he admits his memory of anything outside of Pandaemonium is a little hazy. But there's definitely more to him than the other shades.

@@Wiwii1999 To consider though - this Themis is the soul plucked from the Aetherial sea. This is the actual Elidibus that we fought at Crystal Tower - and even though he was reconstructed by Athena with the memories of our time together in Pandaemonium together, the last cutscene shows that yeah, he really is, and remembers, being the Elidibus that we kill in Crystal Tower. I really like what Apex said - this is our first chance to cross swords with Themis as a friend, and he's just loving every second of it.
@@Wiwii1999 It is revealed in the final cutscenes (I think) of the raid with Themis that he was created not only with the memories from Pandaemonium, but also from his actual soul that Athena found in the Aetherial Sea. That, and he hints at remembering more than he lets on in our last conversation with him. All that is to say, he's probably the actual Elidibus/Themis that we've been interacting with and, although fragmented, he has all his original memories.
@@xsirenflyx i do remember him saying he has free will but Athena's magicks has elevated his 'desire' especially one where he wonders how he fares against us (in battle) its like he was forcefully hired to do part time security. but he can say anything he wants about his boss.

@@UltimaCheesecakeit's also what he wanted, it's the desire Athena exploited in him. And if we know anything about Elidibus it's that he always put his duty above his own wants. So in a way, he finally gets to put his role aside - notice how in the title it's not "Elidibus," but "Ephemeral Justice: Themis."
He still remembers his time as Elidibus due to how Athena made him so this Themis is "different" and the "same" as the one we saw in Elips's Pandaemonium. I also find it nice how they finally finished off Elidibus's story and technically Lahabrea's story with these raids. Since they did finish off Hythlodaeus and Emet-Selch's story in 6.0.
Also because it is confirmed this is in fact the actual soul of 'our' Elidibus in contrast to the memory-projected images of Erichtonios and Lahabrea (Themis did get tinkered on by Athena, partially). The big difference here is that Themis in the end even admits he remembers his experiences with us, alongside those of Pandaemonium. So, in a sense, this was a really beautiful way of saying goodbye to a fan-favourite character and in the end giving him his battle alongside a peaceful rest. This tier blew me off my socks, damn.
@@Sinsiterx15 I'm still blown away that the writer managed to make Elidibus of all characters a fan favorite in a single patch. People used to complain for years on how boring he was.

@@dracoastra3039I wholeheartedly believe we are going to get an “Ancients” Ultimate. Lahabrea Phase 1, Hades Phase 2, Themis Phase 3, Zodiark Phase 4, Ultimate Zodiark having absorbed the unsundered with Hydaelyn as an Ally Phase 5, Merged Zodiark and Hydaelyn into the Warrior of Light (Seat of Sacrifice) Finale. Reward will be glowing versions of Seat of Sacrifice weapons.
I love the title being "Fleeting Moment" in contrast to the Amaurot dungeon theme being titled "Mortal Instants". Both songs play in the same context, an ephemeral vision of Amaurot shown to you by a member of the Convocation, precipitating the fall of the Ancients' civilization. Both titles say the same thing, a passing glimpse of what was, and what you know will soon be gone. But while one is a stark, mournful reminder of how quickly life can end, how abruptly and unfairly everything can fall apart around you, the other is a joyful reminder of how wonderful life is, how beautiful and precious the time you spent together was, no matter how brief.
Also a callback to Answers "In one fleeting moment, from the Land doth life flow Yet in one fleeting moment, for anew it doth grow In the same fleeting moment Thou must live Die And know"
I love it, this is the vision/soul that Elidibus sees of that time while the length of time Emet has seen is that everything has become grim and dark after the Final Days. The contrast is so different. The Convocation for Elidibus was a nice place, and in contrast for Emet, the place has taken a dark tone because of what happened with Venat and the 14th.
One thing I really like is that we are finally in the Amaurot but not in the Tempest one. It’s sunny outside and it’s just beautiful. The one at the Tempest is also really great, with the color tone of the Tempest you can feel how depressed Emet was. This arena gives a really different feeling. It’s probably how Amaurot originally looks like Reminds me one of Emet's dialogue from 5.0 “And then there was Amaurot... Never was a city more magnificent. From the humblest streets to the highest spires, she fairly gleamed... Not that you would remember any of this.”
Yes, that's so awesome! Although I could imagine just like Emet's Amaurot is the dark version, this one in the fight might be a little bit more sunnier than usual. Elidibus is a person dedicated to stay neutral though, so I think it's a safe assumption this was more close to the truth.
Also remember his lines when we give him the other crystals before he gets sealed in the First's Crystal Tower. "The rains have ceased. And we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are not here to see it."
I cannot comprehend of how beautiful that fight was... After rather depressing sight of Pandaemonium monstrosity in p10, to this 😭No one was ready for how good the last part of this raids would be and honestly I think that I liked it more than 6.4 MSQ
Emet's Amaurot is perpetually night: silent and frozen in time on the eve of despair. In contrast, Elidibus' version is day, brimming with hope and the prospect of tomorrow, as a bright young ancient such as himself would have envisioned through his own gaze. It sort of goes along with the whole cycle of a day that the expansions have, as well as the philosophy of hope that permeates the characters, lore, and music (night always follows day, where there is despair there is also hope, etc. etc.). At least, that's how I interpret it. There are a billion billion symbolisms and themes at work in every turn, as expected of FFXIV's rich writing, and it is an absolute treat.
This song screams Themis’ love and care for the people around him at your face until your ears go numb. Hearing the crescendo of the Amaurot theme come back at 1:50 but filled with *hope* while the piano climbs higher and higher, contrasting every other time we’ve heard it elsewhere, is just wonderful.
There not all gone, though. The unsundered are, but even assuming that they hadn’t recruited new shards to replace the ones we know have died, they’re still at least 4 ascians still running amuck. Those four being Altima, Deudalaphon, Halmarut, and Pashtarot. They’re still unaccounted.
I cant help but feel that this is a farewell to Amaurot and the Ancients but the theme is hopeful underlying the message that even though the Ancient way of life is gone the people still endure to the current era in different forms. It’s sad but still has glimmers of hope. Compared to SoS which was the Ancients realizing their end was close.
@@notaplasticexistence Eh, even if Hermes didn't fuck it up, someone would have. Ancient human society would've fallen victim to a similar malaise that took the Nibirun sooner or later.

It was a society of enforced and rigid conformity, that suppressed the individual in the name of the 'betterment of the star'. Thinking how this is the third and most likely final time we fight Elidibus, it's really emotional. You've known him since ARR and then you fight him in his boss fight and then understand what he's been through. This theme is like the finale version of "To The Edge" ( Seat of Sacrifice theme ). It's a song that tells us that Themis is done with his duty and that this is his farewell not as the guy who tried to stop you and destroy all the reflections, but as a friend. It really did put a tear in my eye. Farewell, Themis.
@@GetterRay Yep. I'm certain the SHB MSQ Ultimate will be Emet-Selch and Elidibus. Probably fulfilling some condition in the former so he can save you from the seal in the latter fight.
Yelling "I am the Emmisary and I will never die!" at us when he already knows full well we've fought before and the WoL killed him just goes to show that Themis has an incredible sense of humour, actually.
Also remember how he joyfully remarks:" Even Emet-Selch could do no better !" Before wiping his behinds with us in the first arcane revelation mechanic in savage. Low key roasting poor Emet like that. Themis has impeccable humor.
"When do you think people die? When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! It’s when *they are forgotten.* " as long as they are remembered, the ancients will never die. hence why emet's request in SHB was "Remember us."
This arena is likely the chamber the Convocation sat in, Themis' line "I am the Emissary and I will never die" and the Heart amplifies desire and wishes. The thing Themis wanted most was to be the Emissary with his friends forever
Not sure, if you look at the crest, it has Mateus on the wall. Mateus = Lahabrea. Could this mean we're fighting in Lahabrea office and each convocations have their own chamber?
It's such an inconvenient chamber. I know it's probably built for acoustics but imagine a soft spoken man like Hermes proposing something and Emet Selch immediately yelling "WHAAAT?"
It's cool how similar this model looks to Zodiark, especially the wings Kind of like a cross between Zodiark and the Warrior of Light, fitting since this fight uses both light and dark mechanics
The rematch I did not know I needed till it was there. Out of all the fights I had the dumbest grin on my face the entire duel. something about this fight to me said nothing of a fight for our lives. It was a clash of hearts and friends. Azem and Themis, Elidibus finally getting to see just how good we (Azem) really are, why we are herald so highly by Emit and Hythlo. Why the hero's he looked up to spoke so fondly of us. In my eyes this was not a Fight it was a lesson. A lesson to Themis that his conviction mattered, and a lesson to us that our perseverance matters. it's really a beautiful fight.

The part at 1:06 is straight up my favorite musical phrase in the game, going low with just the piano and vocals as a callback to the sadness of amaurot and to the edge, then reintroducing drums and string instruments to rebuild back up to the high energy chorus, the perfect sendoff since this tier is the last time we're gonna see him
I'm sure we all know the story of how Soken wrote "To The Edge" while in the hospital with cancer This more upbeat, happier version of it is the first remix to come after his cancer went into remission I like to think of this as Soken's victory song
"To the Edge" sounded like a heartbeat, a final and desperate struggle to the end against your enemy. This sounds like a dance shared between friends. I just love the genius behind Soken and his team.
People talking about the music and all, I just want to point out something different. Look at the mechanics in that fight. All of them are very similar to the original fight in spirit. The Light & Dark themes, the "cutting lines", the fact that almost all his attacks are "In and Out" patterns. Such a well done fight. One of my favorite fights in the whole game, from the start of ARR.
All of the new music are amazing in this tier but this one is probably my favorite. Its a hopeful version of The Tempest yet it makes me very emotional. It's Elidibus before he lost his way...Also that stack attack where he shoot dark and light beam at everybody, that is a lot like Zordiak's stack attack, which make sense since he is gonna be Zordiak's heart
Doesn't just look like Zodiark's multi-stack. It is that attack. Name included. The only difference is that half the beams are light instead of all being dark
I love how majestic and pretty it looks, so much more happier than the recreation made by Emet-Selch. At the same time it's so funny how it seems like such a royal thing to me when it was just a workplace for our previous self (the rare times when they didn't skip a meeting because they were traveling around I mean, at least that's my head canon. :D ) Hanging around there in the world unsundered was "just another Tuesday", and yet it looks so special to me, like diving into an old photograph or painting from days long gone and ending up in Narnia.
It's beautiful. This is a fitting end to the story of the Ancients. I was worried but this tier has dispelled my fears. Onward, to the next tale, remembering the moments that came before.
This remix is so powerful and it almost sounds like the Ancients' last hoorah. Like it's their last battle and they're fully enjoying it, fully coming to terms with things and just wanting to end it on a good note. //proceeds to sob ugly tears
It's pretty awesome how when we fight Themis in shb, he has weakened over the years at level 80 and at an extreme level fight at that. But we are level 90 and are fighting an ancient ancestor in his prime and more with unlimited aether at savage level and really shows how strong the convocation really are once they were ready to battle
"In one fleeting moment, from the Land doth life flow Yet in one fleeting moment, for anew it doth grow In the same fleeting moment, thou must live, die, and know"
Honestly I'm really happy I did this fight with my Red Mage. My characters lore is after fighting Hades, she lost access to her ability to manipulate Aether. Thus to adapt, she had to go from bei, being, a red mage, the passion she's had for her whole life, to a gunbreaker and adapt to Thancreds method, only regaining it at the fight with Zenos. In that fight against Elidibus, she technically didn't get to fight him in a way true to herself qnymore then he did. Then this fight comes along and just knocks my socks off. Not only is this an incredible fight in game with an awesome track, but it feels like now both of them can fight in their truest potential. No limitations or assumed mantles or identities or roles or the likes. Now they fight as themselves.
In the original timeline, Elidibus saw us as nothing but an obstacle and a pest, he couldn't possibly see an equal ground between the Ancients and the fragments that now live, weight down by his duty as the Emissary, similar to how Lahabrea and Emet-Selch felt. But after you bested him and sought his help to go back to Elpis, something changed in him, similar to Emet-Selch. While Emet-Selch saw your worth and you proved yourself to be an equal and worthy of respect, Elidibus' fragmented mind vaguely remembered your time in Pandaemonium and saw fit to help you, and the WoL even feels bad for Elidibus' sacrifice which he couldn't understand at the time. Now that Athena plucked his soul from the aetherial sea and give form, albeit a bit puppetered until you free him from it, he's finally complete and able to remember both past and present. Free of duty, he can fight you in equal measure with no masks or titles, as Themis. This isn't a test of your strength, this is a sparring match in his heart. He remembers you from days of eld and how you managed to help Erichtonios and Lahabrea back in Elpis, you're an equal, you're a colleague, a dear friend of his. So, different from the sentiment that Hades and Hythlodeus gives us, Themis is able to reconcile and accept us, and gladly smile at you and call you his friend, for not only have you helped him so many times, but despite clashes and calamities, you still hurt at casting him down. And now, free of burden and guilt, he's thankful he can go back to the aetherial sea now complete, and making ammends with you. And now, we know he has accepted this new world, because the very last scene, we see that he's about to be reborn into this world. Goodbye, Themis. I'll miss you.
@@Phoenix-cc7xb Well, at the very least, we can now have the satisfaction that that Elidibus is the same as this one, and we got to not only free them from their lunacy but from the shackles of being part of the Unsundered, and be recognized as worthy of respect, an equal and a friend.
@@acgearsandarms1343well actually the final cutscene of Pandaemonium seems to be a metaphor for Themis being reborn. Primarily as the "Emerging from the depths" scene composition is a thematic parallel to birth often used in fiction so it could very well be Elidibus' souls thoughts before he was reborn as a new person on Etheryis.
@@acgearsandarms1343we don't really have a timetable for Rebirth in FFXIV. It could just take different amounts of time depending on the soul beyond Ether. Also do recall that Themis did allegedly burn off a lot of his soul to take us to Elpis, so his soul ether could be thinner considering it's a miracle he survived to get nabbed by Athnea
I love how this fight theme is very piano centric Of course the original 'Neath Dark Waters is mainly a piano piece too, but this is Themis's theme. Elidibus is playing a piano on a cover of an official ffxiv album, and Soken himself dressed as a white-robed Ascian in a piano performance. Because of this, Themis being a pianist is a common headcanon, and as it originates from SE itself, his theme being mostly played on piano could be very intentional!
Seat of Sacrifice is my favorite trial in the entire game, every week i always queue to the normal fight just for the funs. When i saw the the convocation's seats and this song started playing i almost cried
_No more shadow, no more light_ _Only rivals fated to fight_ _Two in slumber, one drawing nigh_ _All stand waiting, the final goodbye_ Oh the splendor, of times long gone Unrepentant, the path taken so far Evanescent, these mortal instants Know our places; one looks forward, one looks back. An angel's feather forsaken, drifts lost in time (One of fourteen, ivory clad) In other ages, skies shone golden, almost divine (And yet twas not meant to last) A bottle lost reclaimed by descendants unseen (Your message, now made our creed) A flame extinguished, burns anew with life undimmed (We shall remember that you lived) In crystallized memories Our smiles shine bright like the sun (Old Friends from long ago) And yet now we're little more Than scions and sinners Such is fate for those born of the clash of light and dark Yes, time marches mercilessly And we may tumble and fall (New friends at our back) We stand up, never spurn, this trail we journey After the rain, hope ever shines on These fleeting moments we call life.
His mechanics are all about balancing the light and dark (those circles give party a buff only after the split). Just like Elisibus's role as Emissary that's guarding the balance in Source's aether.
What I do like most about this music and encounter? How hopefull it actually is, full of joy and excitement and promise of something beautiful. Exact same feelings I've got from fight with Venat when she wanted to test us for the first time. The piano is going wild here with this lighter and happier rendition of To The Edge and I love it. This is probably my top favorite out of all the Pandaemonium raids.
a warrior of light AND dark, i believe is the truest form of elidibus, not just either or, hes the emisarry, hes supposed to walk both lines also i really really love this rendition of to the edge, and i kinda wish we still had the ticking clock
I actually liked the fact that there is no Ticking clock as in Amarout and to the edge,They emphasis a sense of urgency and immanent doom,i.e Signalling the destruction of Etheirys and your clock for the transformation into a sin eater etc. Where as in this theme, there are none of those and instead it's brimming with hope and justice.
I teared up a bit hearing to the edge again, it's such a banger. Really needed this after how dark panda had been Also, I'm really hoping to see a piano cover of this track!
What an exceptional fight on every level. Great callbacks to Seat of Sacrifice, the theme being a rearrangement of Neath Dark Waters, him using quotes from other Ascians... He even uses an Ahk Morn-like ability similar to the one in Zodiark, but with light added into it. It's really, really damn good.
Elidibus is one of my favorite characters of all time. I was excited for this raid tier because “oh he might be voiced in some fights!” BUT TURNS OUT HE IS THE FIGHT?? I was not ready for that I was getting worked up saying goodbye for the 4th time. But then the actual end? Holy SHIT I was SOBBING. The way he sees the Convocation, bright and golden heroes, contrasted with Emet-Selch's dark and melancholic Amaurot.
Despite the melancholy, I found Phantom Amaurot soothing myself. Like coming home in the evening after a long day.
@@peregrine5327 So one way or another everyone becomes a Sin Eater. :V
The rains have ceased and we have been graced with another beautiful day. Glad am I that you are here to see it. 😭
I'm just glad that his soul made it to the Aetherial Sea, as I thought it was lost.

All that is to say, he's probably the actual Elidibus/Themis that we've been interacting with and, although fragmented, he has all his original memories.

This fight felt like a dance between good friends -- like the solo instance with Venat in Elpis did. I'm so happy we got this with Elidibus
EXACTLY - like, even though Athena's the reason we had this, it just feels like we're having a good time with a close friend. Despite the fact that we are really truly battling one another, it's like that anime trope of fighting friends XD
I was thinking the same thing
I really like how comparably happier this rendition of the theme is, showing that this Elidibus we’re fighting hasn’t lost his way yet

It’s probably how Amaurot originally looks like
Reminds me one of Emet's dialogue from 5.0
“And then there was Amaurot...
I want to explore Amaurot in its heyday. Like properly.

Yelling "I am the Emmisary and I will never die!" at us when he already knows full well we've fought before and the WoL killed him just goes to show that Themis has an incredible sense of humour, actually.

This arena is likely the chamber the Convocation sat in, Themis' line "I am the Emissary and I will never die" and the Heart amplifies desire and wishes. The thing Themis wanted most was to be the Emissary with his friends forever
Its name on the map is the Chamber of the Fourteen, so I have to assume you’re right.

Best prog music, hands down. I never get tired of this theme, remix, rearranged, slow, original, all the best! Cant wait for the savage.
"In one fleeting moment, from the Land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment, for anew it doth grow
In the same fleeting moment, thou must live, die, and know"
Honestly I'm really happy I did this fight with my Red Mage.
Ancient souls are very aetherically dense. It will take time for it to be cleansed and reborn. A lot of time.
@@Alovon I dont doubt it will happen, just on the when. He’s not going to be reborn that fast.
I love how this fight theme is very piano centric
Of course the original 'Neath Dark Waters is mainly a piano piece too, but this is Themis's theme.
Damn. If it wasn't obvious enough with the parallels, it's right there front and center. Oof.
The rains have ceased, and we are blessed with another beautiful day. And you are here to see it!
I like how Elidibus' form is a combination between the FF1 Warrior of Light and a baby Zodiark.
Out dearest friend Elidbus
You shall never die.
This felt like the last, LAST send off to the ancients and the last character left to give it to. Hit me like the end of Endwalker all over again
Seat of Sacrifice is my favorite trial in the entire game, every week i always queue to the normal fight just for the funs.
When i saw the the convocation's seats and this song started playing i almost cried
_No more shadow, no more light_
_Only rivals fated to fight_
_Two in slumber, one drawing nigh_
_All stand waiting, the final goodbye_
Oh the splendor, of times long gone
Unrepentant, the path taken so far
Evanescent, these mortal instants
Know our places; one looks forward, one looks back.
An angel's feather forsaken, drifts lost in time
(One of fourteen, ivory clad)
In other ages, skies shone golden, almost divine
(And yet twas not meant to last)
A bottle lost reclaimed by descendants unseen
(Your message, now made our creed)
A flame extinguished, burns anew with life undimmed
(We shall remember that you lived)
In crystallized memories
Our smiles shine bright like the sun
(Old Friends from long ago)
And yet now we're little more
Than scions and sinners
Such is fate for those born of
the clash of light and dark
Yes, time marches mercilessly
And we may tumble and fall
(New friends at our back)
We stand up, never spurn, this trail we journey
After the rain, hope ever shines on
These fleeting moments we call life.
"A truth that fills my heart..."
His mechanics are all about balancing the light and dark (those circles give party a buff only after the split). Just like Elisibus's role as Emissary that's guarding the balance in Source's aether.
"I am the Emissary, and I shall never die!"
What I do like most about this music and encounter? How hopefull it actually is, full of joy and excitement and promise of something beautiful. Exact same feelings I've got from fight with Venat when she wanted to test us for the first time. You're not fighting another foe, there is no battle to save the world, you're not forced to fight for survival on peak of the Crystal Tower. Its like... idk like you indulge your friend? Answering his challenge for a friendly duel.. and that's actually fills me with so much joy I can't even describe it 😭😭😭😭
2:21
ITS THAT PIANO AND THAT RISE, MAN.
I SWEAR TO GOD. THE WHOLE SONG WAS AMAZING BUT ITS THAT RISE
ITS THAT HOPEFUL RISE IN THE INSTRUMENTS
GOD DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN I CANNOT NOT CRY TO THIS MASTERPIECE
I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME
If this is what I will bashing my head against Savage for next few months I am ok with this
Ngl i cried when it started playing
This might be the most beautifully orchestrated song in the game.
The real challenging and hardest part about this entire boss is the music.
It's quite impossible to stay NOT emotional and fight THE Elidibus in his purest form with a straight face
While the theme of Amaurot playing in its full glory and is filled with hope.
Damn you Elidibus,You knew being emotional is my weakness all along...
The piano is going wild here with this lighter and happier rendition of To The Edge and I love it. This is probably my top favorite out of all the Pandaemonium raids.
Its like a middle ground between 'Nesth Dark Waters and To the Edge. Wonderful stuff
a warrior of light AND dark, i believe is the truest form of elidibus, not just either or, hes the emisarry, hes supposed to walk both lines
also i really really love this rendition of to the edge, and i kinda wish we still had the ticking clock
The symbol of justice is a scale afterall, balance of light and dark.
@@raven_tempest much like naldthal
I actually liked the fact that there is no Ticking clock as in Amarout and to the edge,They emphasis a sense of urgency and immanent doom,i.e Signalling the destruction of Etheirys and your clock for the transformation into a sin eater etc.
Where as in this theme, there are none of those and instead it's brimming with hope and justice.
This song is such a masterpiece, it bring metears of joy and sorrow of what was lost.
To the edge: "you say run" version
I teared up a bit hearing to the edge again, it's such a banger. Really needed this after how dark panda had been
Also, I'm really hoping to see a piano cover of this track!
tfw when the boss music feels like the boss just asked you to marry him and im absolutely going to say yes
Good thing i listened to this here and not in the actual fight, i would see absolutely nothing with all of the tears in my eyes.
starting the fight was definetily a "dont make me do this again Square, please"
Right? The SGE I got first time through apologised at the end saying "I couldn't see through the tears in my eyes", felt too relatable
Yo, that was my first reaction at hearing this theme. It helped that my co-tank let me OT, but we both had the same issues in our first try.
me, doing this with tears in my eyes: "GODDAMN IT SE"
What an exceptional fight on every level. Great callbacks to Seat of Sacrifice, the theme being a rearrangement of Neath Dark Waters, him using quotes from other Ascians... He even uses an Ahk Morn-like ability similar to the one in Zodiark, but with light added into it. It's really, really damn good.
Also "I am the emissary, and I shall never die!" yeah about that
Masterpiece soundtrack. Comforting yet ‘let’s fight on’ all at once
Flow was playing in the background and him saying he does remember his time after the Sundering with us too. I love that little guy so much. I’m glad that the aeatherial sea sounds comforting for him, he needs to for the first time have his soul be unshackled by millennia’s worth of responsibilities
"I saw you there.. On Elpis."
Glad to see they found a way to have a fight with Elidibus with less of an urge to cry
I love the little hints of Close the Distance in this
Where?! I hear none.
@@PetarBladeStrok right a the start of song
The rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are not here to see it. But I shall push forward, and remember you as you were. as you would want me. I shan’t forget.
is the kinda vibe I get from this song
"Will Light embrace or Darkness consume?"
The theme gives off a battle between a good friend vibes.
why is this song so comfy for such an intense battle?
Because we have a heavy emotional attachment with Elidibus
Because Elidibus is genuinely excited to go another round with us.
Because we're good friends having a duel, not bitter enemies deciding the fate of the world.
Isn't "Fleeting Moment" a line from Answers?
In this one fleeing moment, you must live, die, and know
The leitmotifs of Neath Dark Waters and To the Edge hurt my soul.
But I never felt more alive than in this fight.
