Had my daughter and husband listen to a bit of this. The first thing my daughter said was ,Lord it sounds like Granny and Aunt Shirley.. My husband just asked anyone recording your family honey. I'm loving this 😂 Now to have Momma hear one ahhh boy
I'm new to this author. Took a while for me to get over some of the circs from a personal POV. For eg, I had to ditch my sister so the repeated evidence of the relationship these two women have was difficult. But I got over it. Some of that is around mood. If you are similar, persevere. I think it's worth it. All the tropes of a mystery are here but the story is as dependent on the warm rships in these stories. And the food. The food.... Love the reader and her ability to 'be' two so totally diff women so convincingly. Not as impressed by the male voices but her producer had a hand I those decisions so I'm cool. 9.9 out of 10. Cheers to all involved.
I truly love these books..but everytime they say Shelby county I think they mean Memphis Tennessee..I was born there..but this book is so funny...lol.. Vicki from Indiana
I’m southern, from Tennessee and the food porn bugs me too. I also hate the stereotype that all southern people care about are guns and fried food. And sweet rolls! Like I told you this is my fourth one and Maalox has been brought up in every single one of them also. This one has a bit more drama in it than the other 3 I’ve finished so for and there hasn’t been time to describe each meal in graphic detail. And the way things taste! Ugh, I know what shrimp taste like already haha I cannot remember which book it was but the thing that annoyed me the most was after Patricia Ann (the classy sister) finished her cereal she turned the bowl up and drank the milk… I know Anne George was born in the 20s and this was probably what she did and what everyone did back then but I thought it was really tacky and gross. Bad table manners are a huge turn off. I really can’t imagine anyone doing that that I know except my niece who is 4.
@@lindyvandenbosch9539 ...... me too! I have been living on diet coke instead of coffee for the last week while listening to the stories back to back. I am so glad I prefer the taste of diet rather than regular or I'd be turning diabetic LOL
That’s what folks did in those days. I didn’t start taking Tylenol till I was a senior and gave up the coke. Advertisement, and what was in the store was a strong influence. Think about what you may be eating today, it may be crap too. Lol
These stories are adorable. God bless Anne George. RIP.
The narrator makes these the perfect afternoon past time.
Love the way she expresses the people. I can see each character in my mind.
Great book
This author's books sure give me a good load of chuckles!
Luv all her books character s are so alive and like they are comforting on a rainy nite
I want 50 more of these books!!!
The humor reminds me of Janet Evanovich's writings
Sadly I haven't seen any new uploads of this channel for a long time. Thanks for what is here.

Good read. Thank you from Alabama!
This is the funniest one yet!
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, so good and I love the narrator. I'm sad that I've only 2 more to go in the series. It's such fun!

Love the stories but what's up with all the aspirin and cokes in these stories?
Lol. I am always craving coke after I listen to these

I don't know about the aspirin, but I was told cokes headquarters are in the south. So they drink a lot of coke there.
It’s the climate for sweet tea and coke.

In the Bible all angels are men.. it can be terrifying or just normal like you and me. And they don't have wings. Sorry just my two cents in there. 😊

I like these stories but REALLY, REALLY can't stand the "aunt sister" crap! It's so stupid!!!
It's a southern thing. I have an aunt sister
I’m guessing you’re not from the south. I happen to be an Aunt Nana to my great niece and nephew.
I love all this southern stuff
It’s southern
