Dakotah is the kind of rider that will sell you a bunch of bikes. Knowledgeable, likes to tinker, thinks outside the box and has a way of reassuring the listener that he's 100% honest in his assessment of his gear. Pay the man some bonus money Mondraker!
Can we get more like this please? I love hearing about the tech from the rider perspective and what they feel they gain from it instead of just marketing nonsense.
Great job Henry. You can tell the riders enjoy talking to someone who actually gets it and understands their tech and build decisions to have an intelligent conversation about it
I love the idea of him being much more active through his legs than his hands. Legs are stronger, and they're much harder to fatigue. He's running his bike for comfort and more in tune with human anatomy.
I've made that switch 3 years ago and it's been an absolute game changer. I can ride longer with more strength, better concentration, easier to focus my eyes up ahead, more endurance and much less joint pain.
Henry does a really good job with extracting the concept of what the riders want and are getting out of bikes, rather than just focusing on little details that mean nothing when explained out of context to the wat the bike works as a whole, keep it up!
this spring I threw on a 60mm rise Spank handlebar (inspired by Dak to try it), and I can honestly say, I've enjoyed riding my bike more with the high rise than ever before. I can't help but recall retired factory moto rider Ryan Hughes body positioning concepts, and how those work so well with a higher handlebar - it's opened up my ability to really push the bike into and out of corners, and feel so much better heading into questionable lines and steeps. There's really something to it, and predict this is gonna catch on hard in a few years.
Funny the reasons why Dak runs tall bars, are the basically the same reason why I run tall bars on my trail bikes. I hate being super far forward and hunched over. The taller bars don't hurt my climbing one bit either. I experimented alotbwoth all sorts of different heights, and reach, in the end my 50mm rise setup is what I kept going back to.
Facing downhill, having the body weight behind the bottom bracket is actually centered more directly above it, making the best use of the rear suspension.
Arron has a round about way of describing a DHF front and DHR or High Roller rear and I don't mean that negatively by any means the bike and set up looks amazing.
Yeah or you could use the internet to figure out where Mike Levy went for yourself. I’ll help though, he burned out dealing with annoying internet comments.
Fill the frame with spray foam insulation to dampen the vibrations. It weighs almost nothing. Just don’t get it on anything else or your hands. It’s nasty stuff.

"Boy those are some high handlebars" --> then Dak goes into a myriad of high level thesis explanations for the bars and the rest of the bike... the man knows his stuff.
Top 5 Pinkbike vid in 2024 so far. Keep up the one on ones guys/gals!

More Dakota talking is not a bad thing… much like more Neko is not a bad thing either ❤

He sounds clueless tbh

I would love it soooo much if Aaron Gwin came back to full form and completely annihilated the competition!
Excellent insight! Well done Henry
Great vid and insights from the riders. More like this please.
More of this please! And even more questions about set ups and all the cool things pros can test and use!✊🏻
Heck yeah Aaron, go crush it.
GEARBOXES are the Future, the Intense Prototype is Awesome
If you have not seen Allen Millyard downhill bike with gearbox look it up on TH-cam.

Dak is incredibly well-spoken!
Can't wait for crankworx
Great technical knowledge and comparisons led to great exchanges

Gearbox and belt make so much sense for dh. Especially for racing.
Bolt on Mass Tuned Damper?!?! Let's go Dak!
its all trickling down from mx/motogp/automotive

Great interviewer, big up!
"I really love playing with the stiffness " lol. I know I'm a child!!!
Facing downhill, having the body weight behind the bottom bracket is actually centered more directly above it, making the best use of the rear suspension.
Very good video, one of those it could last 10 riders more.
The steering damper is a rebadged Hopey damper. It works really good.
A lot of WC racers at this CW's. It's gonna be a good race.
The era of the gearbox is finally coming (for downhill, at least)
Arron has a round about way of describing a DHF front and DHR or High Roller rear and I don't mean that negatively by any means the bike and set up looks amazing.
Props to Henry for letting the athletes speak. Most presenters talk way too much.
Good stuff with the riders!
This is very nice!
28:02 I wish I had a Q-Collar before I sustained a TBI in 2016!
Love it❤
🔥🇺🇸
Who mounted Dakota's tires? 😂😝
I thought I was the only one appalled by this haha
Mass damper coming to MTB!
Is Remy still on a medium Altitude?
Or did he go back up to a size large?
Down with the stiffness.
that bike looks llike the 2013 commencal supreme dh
Got to be a mass damper thats going to be bolted on? 👍
E13 rims and their other components are ALWAYS falling apart.
At the age of 56 I had to buy shock pump for stepsons MTB😂
Bring Mike Levy back

Dak breaking Henry’s mind and bike size nonsense. With saying he wants to rearward.
Henry runs his suspension similarly
