You guys can totally be the “Ultimate RVers!”😀 That catwalk looked awesome. But that glacier walk! Just spectacular. You always find the most glorious spots. 💖
You were very brave to go on that cat walk! Wild road you drove on to your glacier walk. The glacier walk looked incredible! I love glaciers. Your videos are beautiful
Beautiful views as usual, but I couldn’t have done this, just watching you both do the catwalk, 238 feet!! Very proud of both of you,but I couldn’t even watch..haha..Bravo though..🙂.This vidéo had a lot of heights,my worst phobia..lol. Scout seemed to have a good time too though.☺️. The campground was beautiful, such awesome views. The mountains and the glacier were breathtaking. We are truly blessed to have this beauty!! What an awesome experience to have.Interesting information at the end. Thank you for this. Take care.🙂..🇨🇦❤️
It was intense, that's for sure! Howard thought it was fun and a piece of cake 😆 we all know how I felt! I'm with you on heights! Thanks so much for watching this week's video!!! ❤️❤️❤️ -Katelyn
I had butterflies again editing that section! 😆 I was so happy to be off that catwalk! So glad you've enjoyed Alaska. We have a lot more fun to come! -Katelyn
Scratches on the RV can be fixed....later. Enjoy things now. Your campground site looked great. I love the blue color that's in the glaciers. Such harsh beauty. Thank you for this video. 😊❤😊
I can't believe there are only 2 episodes left! 😪 Nooooo. Extreme RVers get to drink authentic glacier water. 💕💕 This looked truly amazing and definitely worth the drive. 👍 Not sure I would've made it as far out on that bridge as you did. Kudos. I know what the fear of heights does to you in places like that even when you want to see the spectacular views. 👍 Thanks for taking us along. ❣ -Aimee
I know! 😢 The summer there really flew by. But don't worry... We have lots more fun and beautiful places up our sleeves. The next month of episodes will be great! And yes! That bridge was intense. 😆 I was VERY happy to be back on solid ground! -Katelyn
Scout living her best life! Warms my heart to see her so happy with you! Can’t believe you walked out on that bridge! I’m not afraid of heights & it looked scary to me! Great video!
Aww thank you Sandra! She's having a great time on the road. The bridge was definitely scary but I'm glad I did it. Was also very glad to be back on the ground 😆
Hi Katelyn and Howard! You showed us some unique sites in Alaska this week. I don't know if I could have walked the bridge, but good for you! I'm loving these Alaska videos. Have a wonderful week!
Katelyn I applaud you for conquering your fear of heights, even momentarily, to walk across that footbridge, I don’t think my Tom would have been as successful talking me into it as Howard was with you. The footage of your glacier tour was amazing, loved it, thanks for sharing the tour!!
Another cool Alaska video. Camping up there is just incredible, such awesome views. I figure when I eventually ate it up there i will be there for 3-4 months before it gets to cold and head south. Great video 👍🏼
The footbridge used to be a very sketchy basket with a pulley system only you and the manual pulley guy could fit in a few feet over a raging river. That catwalk looks easy. 👏
we just did the trip in a rented class C rv. I found that I had to find the sweet spot for speed. too slow and the washboard road will eat your lunch with rattling your rig to pieces. too fast and it will bounce you into the ditch. I found about 35mph as the right speed but frequently had to slam on the brakes before hitting a huge pothole. luckily no flat tires
I would of liked to see more on McCarthy like what happened to Neal and much more. I drove all the way to the Canadian border to do my Alaskan Highway trip only to get turned down at the Border August 11th they pushed the opening back to September 21st. I had to head back to Florida.
I've watched a few of your videos, the info is great, camera work is awesome. Dogs are really crazy bunch! At 75 I've always wanted to go, but I just retired a little over a year ago and my knees and bad back would be a detriment. But love watching your adventures! Stay safe. ---- I've been taking a geology course for fun, have learned without it, looking at scenery is not the same. HINT: watch Nick Zenter videos, teacher at Central Washington Univ., He has tons on every subject! It'll make what you see much more interesting.
Do they still have the original tram pulley system to show what you had to do to cross the river before the catwalk? I did that. Thought I was going to die. And the glaciers hike with my cancer ridden sister in law and 60 year old mom was interesting! Anyone can do it.
Command Strips!! 😊 We have the mirror in our Amazon shop here too if you're interested. It's in the RV Kitchen, Bath & Bedroom section. www.amazon.com/shop/newstatenomads?ref=inf_own_newstatenomads
You have a toad, don't you? Did you bring it on the McCarthy Rd? I couldn't tell. We are trying to decide if whether to do the McCarthy Rd next year with our toad and/or our Tiffin Wayfarer which is similar to your Navion.
Steve, we DID tow our toad in 2021 to camp in McCarthy, but actually camped at the fish camp at the start of the road in 2019 (drove our toad in). Point is, totally up to you, no bad choices. Both times, the road conditions were rougher, but not anything worse than forestry roads in the Lower 48. If you haven't already grabbed a copy of our travel guide and interactive map (150+ campsites, activities, dining, fuel), there's a section about the roads and what to avoid up in Alaska. 👍 -Howard www.newstatenomads.com/rvalaska
OMG! My stomach was up in my throat watching you cross that walking bridge. I am deathly afraid of heights! One time disembarking a cruise ship, I literally froze halfway down the wobbly rope and wood walkway, going down to the tender. People started yelling for me to move, and I tell you, I don’t remember HOW I got down OR back up again! Think I blocked it from my memory…. You are soooo lucky to experience Alaska for a second time. We hope to do the same sometime before I die! I really look forward to your videos, as you’ve got some of the best quality and FUN videos on TH-cam. If I don’t make it somewhere I want, I can always check-out Howard and Katelyn’s videos! Many thanks again for all your efforts!
Oh my goodness! That sounds terrifying! We feel very fortunate to have experienced Alaska again. It's such an incredible place! Really hoping you can visit 🥰❤️ and thank you SO much for the sweet compliments!!! That means the world to us!

238 feet above water. Come on Catlin, you chose to be adventurous, now you got it. Great adventure.
😆 I guess I need to specify just how adventurous I'm willing to be! Glad I did it though.
you two deserve more viewers

Always fun! The old footage was awesome too.
Haha thanks guys!! So glad we had that in the vault 😆 definitely saved us from a cold and rainy day of filming.
Watching now! Nice!😎
Woohoo!!! 🎉📺😊
Hi Katelyn and Howard! You showed us some unique sites in Alaska this week. I don't know if I could have walked the bridge, but good for you! I'm loving these Alaska videos. Have a wonderful week!
Absolutely fascinating video! Thank you. (I felt some vertigo just watching the footbridge part).
I know how you feel!! 😆 That was not a super enjoyable experience for me, haha. So glad you enjoyed the video though!! 🥰 -Katelyn
@@NewstateNomads Seeing through the floor of the bridge didn't help!

Incredible! 🗻 For some reason it would make more more nervous to drive across the bridge than walk! 😁
Can you believe they didn't have guardrails on that bridge before?! Yikes! 😳

That's a perfect amount of time to explore! Definitely want to exit before it's unbearable. And yes! The views are stunning 😍🏔️
Thanks guys. Love your videos So glad you are sharing with us. 💪💪🥰
Thank you Lou!!! 🥰
You are tougher than me girl! I'm still puckered up from watching here in the living room! 😂
😆😆😆 haha!! Right?! I was not having a good time. There may have been smiles but it was all nervous laughter. I am not into heights!
@@NewstateNomads me too that is one of my afflictions...lol
Breathing adventure! Felt like we were right there with you, especially on the footbridge. Scary! Thank you for these enjoyable videos!
You're welcome Andy! So glad you're enjoying them 🥰 the bridge definitely had my blood pumping! 😆

I love these videos. We went in 2019 and are re-living our adventures again with your videos. Thank you for sharing.
We might have crossed paths back in 2019!! So glad you're loving seeing it all over again 🥰🏔️
You can extreme RV, but that would require an Earthroamer or Overland vehicle ;) You truly are awesome for doing that drive!!
Haha! Those definitely take it to the next level. Maybe one day 😆 I'm glad we decided to do the drive. And the scratches really weren't that bad!

I didn't see that but now you have me wondering!! That sounds terrifying! And how special that you were able to do that with your Mom & Sister!
Awesome video 🙂
Thanks guys!
@@NewstateNomads no problem!
I wouldn’t mind the walking bridge at all but I have a very hard time with trails that have loose rocks, that gave me anxiety.
Gonna have to side with Katelyn --- Extreme RV'rs just sounds more bad@$$ -- okay now to resume watching .....
Haha right on Dean!!! 🙌😊 That's what I'm talking about! -Katelyn

🤣 no problem! Once is more than enough!
I would be paralyzed just like you.
