As a survivor i promise you I have damage it does make me damaged goods it means I have scars mentally emotionally physically but that doesn't make me damaged goods. Don't confuse being damaged by trauma with by lesser in value if anything savannahs i am more valuable now because I take all horror I went through and help others .

What makes this entire thing more heartbreaking is she’s described as bubbly but the person who is interviewed seems very broken. As a survivor, I’m truly inspired by her story but pray she can continue surviving after that day. She is strong.

The way she keeps pulling her sweater to cover herself is heartbreaking. To some it may just look like a girl being modest but its a sign of hiding. Many who have been assaulted unconsciously try to hide their body from the world as to "not tempt" the world to look at us as sexual beings. Just heartbreaking. Such an amazing story of strength.
My daughter Jameela and I were @ the same Kroger the very same day and we saw him hanging around looking creepy. We even talked about how he stuck out like a sore thumb. It was just something about him that didn't feel right. My daughter also attended UWG and knew of this young lady from campus. I'm so sorry she experienced this but so happy that God was with her and she escaped safely 🙏🏽. Very smart of her to remember what she saw in those crime shows. God bless her ❤

I was a receptionist at a hair salon in a local mall, and ended up having to close really late in the evening. As I walked out to my car (mind you in a very dark parking lot) a lady walked up to me and said that she really loved my lipstick. She was walking with a man, who seemed like her husband. I immediately had a weird feeling, when she raised her phone and said, “is it ok if I take a picture?” Before I could respond, she snapped a pic. I was really shaken, and started walking really fast. A black van was parked only two spaces from my car, and she started to dig in her purse and walk toward me while the guy clicked the unlock button on the van. I didn’t even have time to react, when a police car appeared out of nowhere and started circling the parking lot. Immediately they both dashed into the van and drove away. The police car stopped beside me and asked if everything was alright, saying he had a “gut-instinct to drive into the parking lot.” I told him what happened, he spoke to dispatch, and was able to give a license plate number off his dash cam to try to find out who they were, and escorted me all the way back to my apartment. I really believe he was my guardian angel. From that point on, everyone in the evening shift had to have a buddy to walk out with. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. Edit: Also, for those with iPhones, if you hit your power button 5 times, it’ll make an automatic call and a loud siren noise. Maybe not the most discreet option if your sound is turned up🤯

When I was 23, I went to Walgreens and there was a homeless man there who I would always try to give some money to even though I was a struggling student at the time. I gave him 5 of my $15 but he asked for the $10 bill too. I was like...ummm, no, I'm here to buy something (damn be grateful). Then he asked me for a ride to "the nearby men's shelter". It was late and I was using my roomie's car so I declined. I never went back to that Walgreens. A couple of years later I googled for a men's shelter in the location he mentioned and there wasn't one. I think he would have hurt me and stolen the car...
She will have it burned into her memory. I was attacked at age 11 and I’m in my 50s, now. I can describe minute details. It never goes away. It ruins a lot of trust, it can ruin many aspects of life. By the way, I used one of the 4 target areas to attack back, and I got away. Thanks Dad 👼 for teaching me to kick where it counts.

The way she keeps pulling her sweater to cover herself is heartbreaking. To some it may just look like a girl being modest but its a sign of hiding. Many who have been assaulted unconsciously try to hide their body from the world as to "not tempt" the world to look at us as sexual beings. Just heartbreaking. Such an amazing story of strength.

My daughter Jameela and I were @ the same Kroger the very same day and we saw him hanging around looking creepy. We even talked about how he stuck out like a sore thumb. It was just something about him that didn't feel right. My daughter also attended UWG and knew of this young lady from campus. I'm so sorry she experienced this but so happy that God was with her and she escaped safely 🙏🏽. Very smart of her to remember what she saw in those crime shows. God bless her ❤

I was a receptionist at a hair salon in a local mall, and ended up having to close really late in the evening.
As I walked out to my car (mind you in a very dark parking lot) a lady walked up to me and said that she really loved my lipstick. She was walking with a man, who seemed like her husband.
I immediately had a weird feeling, when she raised her phone and said, “is it ok if I take a picture?” Before I could respond, she snapped a pic. I was really shaken, and started walking really fast.
A black van was parked only two spaces from my car, and she started to dig in her purse and walk toward me while the guy clicked the unlock button on the van.
I didn’t even have time to react, when a police car appeared out of nowhere and started circling the parking lot. Immediately they both dashed into the van and drove away. The police car stopped beside me and asked if everything was alright, saying he had a “gut-instinct to drive into the parking lot.” I told him what happened, he spoke to dispatch, and was able to give a license plate number off his dash cam to try to find out who they were, and escorted me all the way back to my apartment. I really believe he was my guardian angel.
From that point on, everyone in the evening shift had to have a buddy to walk out with.

When I was 23, I went to Walgreens and there was a homeless man there who I would always try to give some money to even though I was a struggling student at the time. I gave him 5 of my $15 but he asked for the $10 bill too. I was like...ummm, no, I'm here to buy something (damn be grateful). Then he asked me for a ride to "the nearby men's shelter". It was late and I was using my roomie's car so I declined. I never went back to that Walgreens. A couple of years later I googled for a men's shelter in the location he mentioned and there wasn't one. I think he would have hurt me and stolen the car...
