- Group hikes are one of my favourite activities when I’m not out adventuring alone in the hills. I’ve learnt a great deal about my favourite places by meeting guides and fellow walkers. I love to hear life stories and share the love of a place that captures the hearts of others. The best of both worlds chatting away whilst getting fit in the fresh air or quiet reflection walking at the front or back with the wind and sunshine in my face. Nothing better! A 10 mile hike around parts of Kinder Scout, The Peak District National Park, UK 🇬🇧
The wind noise makes it more atmospheric don’t you think??? 😅 very tough recording this without some ear piercing crackling windy audio. Thanks for watching…what a great day out I had yesterday ✨🥾✨

Thanks so much Twiggy, fancied trying out the video malarkey as I tagged along to my group hike and it worked out great. Was nice to capture the essence of what it’s like being out with the group minus the conversations that I have with people I’ve never met. So Interesting to listen to their stories and motivations for hiking. I watch my videos back to check it’s ok before I hit publish and I smile and laugh at myself being so happy up there. Takes me straight back to that place and moment. That’s the real reason I do it. So good for my mental health ❤️take care Mick, see you on the next 🙌🏻
Fantastic video looked like you had a great hike , looks a tad wet underfoot ! We had so much rain in Cornwall it’s the same here at the moment.
It’s usually soaking up on kinder, it’s a big moorland sponge that protects the surrounding cities from flooding. makes it so rich and lively. Full of wonder ☺️

I retired 6 yrs ago and naively thought things would be quieter during the week. On the hills that is certainly true, especially outside of school holidays, but in towns - nope, places are full of old people! I keep forgetting that at almost 71 I'm one of them! Enjoyed watching you enjoy your day out. ATB,Roger

I took early retirement and am gob smacked at all the old folk. But then realise like you, I’m now one complete with bus pass. But been retired since 2013

Starting off you sound like one of the lasses in my walking club. As you say all you have to do is turn up and enjoy, no thinking to do, simply enjoy and yak as much or as little as you like. Looks like you were enjoying yourself and the weather looked like a hint of spring. Could have done with subtitles 🙄 for a bit with that wind. As GBO would say, yve got a scran bag thre lass, but hopefully without a red drawing pin 📌 I'm sure you know what I mean😀. You just look so chuffed to be up there. You said "I wish you could have been here" if I had been I think we'd still be stood in the carpark talking about walking, camping, PM, PD and probably kiddiwhizz.

I may try adding some subtitles to a video in the future if it’s that windy again. Or I could just not bother 😂 the latter is much easier but not as fun…gets complicated but I guess I like to learn and grow.
Was a great day out with the group, nice scran and no pins to pop any mats, not a mat in sight! Camp next week. Bk to work tonight ⛺️
Looks a restful hike on the moors. I managed to see the beautiful sunrise on Sunday morning 1240 ft in the wind chill. Great memories, unfortunately no rock formations to add to the drama of the vista.😎👍 Good luck on the Sale.

It always looks lovely. Were the two animal rocks sheep as they were cute, one definitely looked like a sheep. It brings a calmness just by watching that landscape absolutely beautiful
That’s what I love about rocks! You can make them into anything you imagine 😍

That Taylor's coffee is pretty good! I've never tried a hiking group, I don't think I like it as one of the reasons I head to the hills and go solo wild camping is to get away from people haha!
Quick and easy to chuck in a flask before heading out, no messin’. Tastes lovely on the hills! I enjoy both aspects of hiking with others and solo. I only camp solo for the exact same reason, to find my own space, get in my own head and relax. I’m too stimulated when I’ve got company. Nice to totally switch off 🙏🏻✨
Maybe investigate a ‘fluffy’ mic to reduce the wind noise which spoils what is otherwise another great video.
I have my eye on new filming equipment in the future for sure! Would love to for the wind to not spoil my audio. 😊

Brilliant video I've said before I am from Sheffield Crystal Peaks is a regular haunt of mine I live on the border of Derbyshire hopefully sometime this year I want to visit the gardens at Renishaw Hall in the summer I buy a kebab from the Admiral In Mosborough and sit outside the grounds of Renishaw Hall lol 😆

Thank you for the hair peek, very unusual. I used to hate walking in group, I like solitude, people do my head in. I lost count of " look at that view", stunning!. Struggled with the sound on this one, needs improvement, will have to do better 5/10.😉💋
Retirement is ace! Last week i spent 2 days doing a walkover survey of an old lead mining area which is a protected, monument, a day clearing and recording Winster old miners paths, a day doing the condition survey of Navio - and I thought retirement was meant to be relaxing :)
I’m sure I’ll wonder how I fitted work in when the time comes to retire 🤩

I love your blogs. I'm a local lad myself and often walk on the Derbyshire moors with my spaniel. I don't get over to walk on Kinder though, so I enjoy doing it vicariously. Did lots of fell running ip there in my younger days. Thanks for doing these videos.

I love the Peak District and I'm passionate about the outdoors and wildlife but I can honestly say I don't think I've seen anybody more passionate about it than you, I can go out there hiking or camping and it's always the bees knees no matter what the weather (now I've jinxed myself) yet for some reason, watching you always makes me feel I've missed out on something, I obviously see what you and others see from the same standing point but your enthusiasm and excitement for the outdoors sometimes puts more of a smile on my face than me actually being there, your laughs and giggles are contagious and it's alway a pleasure to watch your camps, your hikes and listening to your stories, obviously doing what you do pleases you, so please keep doing what you do that pleases your subscribers.🥰

Looked like a lovely hike.i worked shifts all my life.double edged sword as i could pick my moment for a less busier hike but also miss out on some of the weekend jaunts my friends did.retired now so i have a bit more flexibility.cheers for your hard work and showing us how lovely the peak district is.
