- Join us for an exclusive sit-down at the charming Cotswolds Distillery, where our ambassador Ian meets with Rob, the Global Brand Ambassador. Dive into a fascinating discussion about the origins of Cotswolds Distillery, the unique style of their spirit, and the innovative use of STR (Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred) casks that set their whisky apart.
In this special episode, Ian and Rob explore the distillery's journey from its early days to its current status as a beacon of English whisky. They'll discuss the distinctive techniques and craftsmanship that go into every bottle and give us a glimpse into what the future holds for this beloved brand.
A huge thank you to Cotswolds Distillery for having us and allowing us to share their story with you.

My first bottle of Cotswolds was approximately x3 yrs ago, and it was very impressive. Akin to Bimber and Filey Bay, English distilleries really know how to make this liquid, and with transparent, honest and professional staff like Rob within the Team, this distillery is only 😃heading in one direction. Best wishes. MG
thanks for tuning in and supporting the channel Michael! great to hear you too enjoyed this spectacular English Whisky - definitely one to watch ey! sláinte
Brilliant interview with Rob being super passionate and insightful as ever. Cotswolds are doing everything right and it is reflected in the bottles. Cheers.
thanks for tuning in and supporting the channel Jeff! what's your favourite expression from Cotswolds?
Love the cotswolds, the sherry cask is fantastic
great shout!
Another gem of an episode plus Ian is dominating life in a quilted sweater 😉 & Rob rocking a “Baron’s” beard
Definitely would be interested to try this brand… yet to see it in the states where I’m at unfortunately 😔
thanks Chaz, glad you enjoyed it! shame to hear their juice hasn't made it onto a shelf near you yet - hopefully that will change soon! keep your eyes open for them, lots of great things to come. sláinte
Great interview with Rob. So passionate about what they’re doing at the Cotswolds Distillery. Have to admit other than a few samples I haven’t tried much. Definitely going to look more into what they’re doing. Can’t wait to try some more. Some of those special releases they’re planning sounds very good!!
definitely worth spending some time with some friends and getting to know the lineup as they have some real gems here. thanks for tuning in and supporting as always! sláinte
@ Can’t wait for an all English episode. There’s some amazing drams being produced by the likes of The Lakes, Wire Works, Cotswolds, Spirit of Yorkshire and more. 🥃
@@gms201 we'll see what we can do for you!
I visited the distillery a few months ago. Had a great time, lovely and passionate people. Also took home that hand filled ❤
nice choice! glad we're not the only ones enjoying it
The honest discussion about STR was brilliant. The benefit to a new distillery is obvious but I don’t know if I’d discount the concerns about STR as myth. I visited a Cotswolds shop a year ago and the tasting was fruity and pleasant but dominated by the STR character. Glad to hear they have a 7 year and some small batch diversity at the distillery. I’m sure the tourist demand is high, but look forward to increased variety and more mature Cotswolds in the future.
lots of exciting things to come out of this distillery for sure! thanks for getting involved Franz, we appreciate the support! sláinte
A great place to visit, highly recommended 👍
agreed! when was the last time you visited?
Good interview enjoyed watching it.
thanks David, great to hear the content is going down well! we'll hope to see you on the next one. sláinte!
Great interview! I’d love to visit Cotswolds Distillery. I really love the work they’re doing there. Very nice drams. I'm also curious to know where in Italy Rob worked (i’m italian 😂)
thanks for tuning in Simon, glad you enjoyed this one! definitely a must visit when you're next in the area. sláinte
I’m sure Jim Swan was a main character in the Filey Bay Distillery.
They use STR also.
I’ve tried Cotswold and it’s a decent dram.
Also got a bottle of Filey Bay IPA whisky and that’s also a decent drink.
Would be class to have a side by side taste event with just English whiskey.
you're spot on Sean. and an English heads up is definitely something we're working on, so stay tuned!
👍
thanks for tuning in and supporting the channel!
