    This is why I loved The Prestige. Every single magic trick in that movie could be explained either by the movie itself or by the viewer, since the movie gives enough clues for you to understand how they do each trick. I hate movies that show u tricks and then expects you to think "well it's a movie. That's how they did it."

    • @JimCullen
      @JimCullen 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I'm with you, Marti. I went in to that movie _ready_ to side with Cap because intuitively I felt like they had a lot going for them.
      But the film itself just did such a gods awful job of presenting that argument. It was just _impossible_ to agree with him.

    • @MVPMVE
      @MVPMVE 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No No Not wanting to give yourself up to an agency because they might prevent you from interfering where you are not wanted doesn't make sense. This whole "trustworthiness" thing only applies in established entities (HYDRA was revealed to be in SHIELD before Cap knocked those helicarriers out of the sky in CA:TWS). The Accords are too new for you to immediately assume the worse and go rogue.
      Also: after _levitating_ then _dropping_ Sokovia out of the sky, a sovereign nation should have agency to decide if it can afford/rationalize superhuman "help." Cap just came off as a self-righteous American who wants to impose his particular brand of justice when/where he wants with no accountability.

    10/10 on Morgan Freeman Impression

  • @benm5970
    @benm5970 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The main issue I have with this film is exactly what I had an issue with in the first film, and that is that the line between the real stuff and supernatural stuff that happens is extremely blurred, at some points they do something involving magic that they later explain how they did it like a normal magician, but then other times they, like Chris said, jump off a building and turn into playing cards. And it just leaves you going "wait so does magic actually exist in this world or not?" If they gave an explanation for how they did it, or hell even revealed that yes magic does exist I could forgive it a little, but they never do so its just a big head scratcher. These movies could've seriously benefited if they just set up their world and stayed within the confines of it instead of setting it up and breaking the rules later on just for the convenience of the plot.

    Will you ever review Fateful Findings by Neil Breen for a Hilariousity Review?

    • @jacobharris4838
      @jacobharris4838 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YMS already did it, why do you care to see another?

    • @nopedone6331
      @nopedone6331 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Ryan Harris
      I like hearing different reviewers talk about the same movie sometimes. One will pick up on something that the other either didn't see or simply didn't discuss. Why does it matter if one reviewer already discussed a movie, anyway? Technically Nyx Fears talked about Fateful Findings months before YMS did, and that didn't stop him from making his own review, and RLM reviewed Double Down 2005 way before YMS mentioned it in his video.

    • @jacobharris4838
      @jacobharris4838 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope Done I understand. But YMS literally released like a week ago. Making one now would just be jumping on a bandwagon

      I didn't demand that Chris make his next Hilariousity Review be about Fateful Findings or any of Neil Breen's other movies. I just asked if he would do it. He could do one months or years from now, or never for all I care.

    I go to the local grocery store each week and always hit up the discount section of the video counter. Then when I get home I always look up the reviews of what ever dvd I picked up. Yours are the only ones I watch (unless you didn't review a specific film). And the reviews make a difference. I'm able to get myself into the right frame of mind for each film. Should I expect a serious experience or just grab the popcorn and park myself for a couple of hours?

    Its really a balance between taking it self serous and making things plausible.. Sharknado for example.. the level of serius is like 0%... so the plausibility needs to be the same. Same with paraya 3DD.. well that still sucks.. sorry.
    But Now you se me is like 30-40% serius... but its only like 10% plausible. Its to much of a gap.

    This moved me to tears. Because everything said here is spot on. Movie theaters used to be a magical place. I remember my Dad taking me & my sister to go see Aladdin for the first time, and how magical it was. I remember seeing Jurassic Park and believing the Dinosaurs were real and being on the edge of my seat. But that experience has been lost. It's gone. Chris is right, it's dying and so many people don't care.
    I got teary eyed & a lump in my throat, because I realized I used to go to the movies five times a month with family and friends. Now I might see 5 movies a year at the theater. Sometimes less. And it's because over time, people started to ruin it. It's so sad how something so magical and special, no longer exists in my life.
    I actually got physically upset listening to his experiences, because it's so accurate as to how rude people are. I don't get it. How can people have no shame? How they can not be embarrassed? How can people be so okay with ruining others experience?
