I understand why some might dislike the Blessing 2/S8 cable, but I totally love it. It’s the lightest cable I’ve used that still sounds great, and the connectors have a small form factor. Significantly more comfortable than, say, the Monarch cable, which, while more ‘premium’ feeling, gives a tugging sensation owing to the weight and braid.

My Moondrop s8 arrived. I must say, I really love it. over time I have tried Sony double driver earphone, RHA triple driver earphone, 1more quad drive earphone with THX certify and now the Moondrop s8. The Moondrop s8 is like the 1more quad drive, accept the sound is even more clear, far more detail. I was going to buy my first IEM, shure se846 pro but many people mention the Moondrop s8 and how it is Chinese made and you shouldn't buy it. As soon as they say it Chinese made, I was pretty much sold just on that facts and I went an order it.
I have both the se846 and the Moondrop s8. The S8's literally blow the se846 out of the water. Absolutely Sublime detail while being flat, very good sound stage and imaging. The SE846 sounded floaty in my opinion and had them for 3 years. The only IEM's that are good that I liked is the Sony IER M9's those are the best. I use the s8 now daily pretty much as they are good, only issues is have to push to the side a little to release pressure but they fit like customs and one of the only few can wear for hours.

@@kaankucuk1612 I have not use Sony Z1Rr-IER or Monarch Mk2 before so i can't really or shouldn't really make a comment on that. How ever, my thought on the Sony Z1R-IER was, that it is made of metal, not sure if it will fit my ear or if they provide custom mold for the ear. If it doesn't fit your ear well, it going to be a 2k worth of junk. Also it said Frequency Response up to 100Khz. Human can only hear up to 20khz. is it worth paying for something that you won't able to hear. I can't remember where, but i think the Z1R-IER is triple driver setup with 1 huge main that drive the base and a small driver for mid sound and a tweeter that produce the 100khz sound. From experience the more driver the better. since they can produce sound at different frequency better. But that just my experience. I'm sure Sony will have better bass. i mean they are using a 12mm driver just for bass. IEM on the other hand is a different beast. They are not meant for throwing out lot of bass or loud music. But instead they produce more clarity, detail, depth, and definition than most earbuds. IEM tend to fit the ear well and have custom mold made for your own ear. So while they are not loud (which i never needed to turn on full blast) but because they fit so well, they cut out most of the outside noise which make the sound louder in that sense. I have been using the moon drop i8 for a while now and there is one thing i don't like about it. some music you can kind of can hear people talking in the background. possibly when they made the music in the studio. The dude is talking on the other side... because the IEM produce the sound so clear any in perfection you will hear it. but still i love the moondrop i8 because i love the detail and clarity sound instead of loud blast of music with loud bass.
The SA6 is tuned very well. A tad more relaxed in the lower-treble, less aggressive, and warmer, especially with the bass switch on. By comparison, the S8 prioritizes technicalities with better detail retrieval, layering, and treble air. The S8 is more coherent in general. Unfortunately, I have not hear the A8!
Because this is an sealed/closed IEM, i don't understand how they can ship silicone tips with it, especially when they have their MIS-Tips. Imho they are unusable without the MIS Tips and should be bought together always
This is a wonderfully well put together review. Love it. My only issue with Moondrop IEMs so far is the tips occasionally falling off getting stuck in my ears. I'm referring to the Blessing 2. Have any advice on preventing that from happening? It's only an issue for the stock medium tips.
Late, but I wrap the IEM where the tips would be covered with some teflon pipe thread. Makes it a tighter fit with the IEMs and if they start slipping again like after a month I just replace with a new strip of thread. Used this for my Massdrop Plus and Moondrop S8.

Saving for the Z1R but thinking about the S8 because I own the B2 and the fit is spectacular. Never a need to tip roll or readjust them. No vent might be a dealbreaker though :( I'm very sensitive to pressure. Also I love the dead-serious "weeb tuning" term thrown in with all the super technical descriptions.

hi can you do a full review on ier m9 ,please . i was looking for 1k full BA endgame ,the andromeda is excellent in technicality and details but it was too colored for my taste and i've heard that the m9 was a more neutral and mature one compared to that of the andro. Thank you.
The Moondrop S8 or the Sony IER M9 is the ones I kept and best fitting. The SE846 and Campfire sold due to similar reason you stated. The Moondrop or Sony are endgame for me as far as IEM's they are accurate while having sublime detail and great soundstage and imaging.
Watching this while using my S8. Using my FiiO M11 (non-pro), the S8 bass is very lean and overall sound does not scale well with volume, but great for rock and classical. No go for something like rap or EDM. On my desktop CMA 400i, however, S8 sounds much better. Sounds fuller, more detailed and fun. I don't have enough audio sources to say the S8 is source reliant, but I wish my CMA 400i was portable.
There are two great tracks to test IEMS. For the bass try: "Weekend - Blinding Lights". Most IEMs reveal thier crappyness on this track. And "Michael Jackson - Why do you trip on me" for the lower hights. "Why do you trip on me" has a very aggressive Clap that immediatly shows if a IEM can handle it. Moondrop Starfields for instance fail miserably on this track. Try those tracks out.
Imo the S8 is indeed transparent enough to make your source matter and a bit of added warmth and punch suits them. Pairs very well with the Lotoo PAW S1.

I am looking to buy a pair of iem between 200 - 300 € for my girlfriend, but she has fairly small ears, and when she tested my Ibasso am05, it didn't fit. Does anyone have any advice of good sounding iem in that range that are fairly small ?
LZ A7 or Mangrid Tee. Dont buy Moondrop, they have crappy quality and support. (see my other comment in this video). A7 have good sound, great fit (for small ears) and a nice cable. The looks of A7 is average thought. LZ support turned out to be good. (One of the yellow filteres included had a defect. They have sent me a rack with new filters on request, as replacement). Mangrid Tee have great sound too (check out Z Review) the cable is a bit too thick and the comfort level is not as good as A7 because of this. Mangrid Tees might be too big for girls ears.
All are great IEMs! Personally, I think the S8 takes the cake over the Monarch in terms of coherency and technical ability, but I can definitely see why some might prefer the more in-your-face detail and sub-bass of the Monarch.
I would not buy a IEM for 700€ from China. In case of defects you cannot be sure you get good support and warranty replacement. I have to units of Moondrop Starfields. Left driver died on both units. Moondrop has quality issues.
Cannnot recommend Moondrop. On both Moondrop Starfield units I had, the left driver died. On the first unit it died after a few weeks and it was replaced because I opened a ticket on Amazon. The replacement unit worked for some months and then the left driver of that unit also died. I messaged Shenzen Audio asking for warranty, but they never replied. So if you buy this IEM, think of what you will do, if it breaks. Will you send it to China? Will you have good support?
