I remember leaving you a comment about these legs and that you’d look into it. I had no idea about the shoulder and bicep issue though, thanks for showing how to fix that. I already sanded the hips so I guess I’ll do the shoulders soon.
This looks so good, thank you for doing this! I'm glad Hasbro did a new base for this Tom Holland, I'm not really a fan of the buff body they did for the Homecoming and Civil War Spider-Man, even the FFH. I hope someone makes a FFH and Homecoming custom using the Final Swing base, maybe you?
Thanks for the bicep mod and leg mod. The left bicep on mine was rough but luckily I was able to pop it off and trim away the ridges and now it moves smoothly.
I just don't understand why are they adding ridges to the ball joint. And then cheap plastic that can tear apart? It just doesn't make any sense lol Great video again Crafty!
This is fantastic, many many thanks. I did trim away inside the neck joint , to give it more head down and head up. Andrew Garfield was the worst !. I had to carve quite a bit inside the masked head to be able to get it on comfortably. I shall do the mods here for Tom. You're a star for bringing this to us 😎
I have this figure. It is true that it handles a bit stiffly, but honestly, I feel these mods are just on preference. They're not necessary. So long as you don't handle the figure like a complete CHIMP it won't break
I originally thought the same, but if you look at the TH-cam short I uploaded recently you can see the problem. That was after heating it up and working the joints too. The issue with the recent figures is the quality control, just because yours was fine it doesn't mean everyone else's is
Any advice for getting the shoulders out? I tried on mine a couple days ago with no success beyond scratched paint. Thanks for sharing that paint pen, though! Definitely using that to fix it.
For me, I make sure the arm is all the way out like it's t-posing and then use the screwdriver or whatever tool to pry it from directly in the armpit. It does have to be very hot water from what I've found
Thank you for showing this off! I normally don't like modding my main display figures, but unfortunately it seems this one is very, very necessary. Hasbro really needs to do better, this is absolutely ridiculous.
No problem! I'm glad to help. It really is a shame that their recent figures NEED modding. They should be usable out of the box, in theory you shouldn't even need to heat them up
Thank you for this! The leg on mine broke but I have another one arriving from amazon later this week. I’ll have a mug of boiling water ready to go as I unbox the figure lol! :)
I've never had to take a figure apart before to make fixes. I was about to open up the packaging and test out the posing, but found out there were issues by random chance, and am a little anxious now. Especially after seeing people uploading photos of broken arms and legs 😬. I was wondering. How hot does the water need to be in order to make the process easier, and how long should the figure be kept in hot water before taking it out? Also, is there a time frame to move fast or can the plastic harden back up, and forcing someone to put it back in water during the edging or smoothing out of the pegs process? Sorry for the long message.
I use boiling water, 30 seconds sit time out of the kettle. I've never had a problem leaving it in for too long but apparently you shouldn't leave it in longer than 30 seconds. As far as moving the joints goes, there's no set speed or consistency, you just have to go with your gut unfortunately and see how it feels
have you ever thought of adding neck joints to marvel legends, ive seen Dang It Productions make the marvel legends spiderverse 2099 better using lego joints lol! he fixed the lower body too it looked so good he's thinking he wont buy the sh figuarts one
Thank you so much for this. Im currently on my THIRD final swing spidey because of these shitty joints. First one i only did hot water method and the hip broke which was whatever my own dumbass fault. The 2nd time tho i actually used shock oil but the hip still broke. This 3rd one has been stuck inna neutral standing pose because i have been TERRIFIED to do anything and its such a great looking figure i just can not afford buying a 4th one all because hasbro has shitty quality control.
@@CraftyGecko i already contacted hasbro but final swing is outta stock on pulse currently so they offered something of equal value. Which ended up being a figure i already had.
I should have seen this video before messing around with my holland Spider-Man from the final swing scene. Moving his right leg forward immediately twisted off the hip joint. And even though I attempted to fix it with a metal peg in between the two where it had broken off it had ended up eventually wearing away the soft plastic anyways. Now I'm left with a broken Tom Holland figure out of the other two from this movie and that really disappoints me. Leave it to Hasbro to make shitty quality figures and skip around QC checking to where the consumer has to fix their problems for them.
He's an absolute scalper. Half that stock is in game for a 3rd of the price. Tom and green goblin can still be bought at retail price as well. If you paid 45 for tom you got robbed
the edges are to improve the life of the figure with tight joints. your figure will be a flappy mess if you play with it too much. been there done that
I understand why they're there, i dont understand why they've made them so much more prominent though. The older marvel legends i own have smoother detents and and still work great. The current ones are so tough they snap, plkinda pointless doing it for longevity if it cause them to break
I waited till just not even a week ago to pick up this figure and it's by far my favorite spider man figure I own, and of course, doesn't the right hip snap off 5 minutes ago. No idea what to Do. I'm thinking if heating the whole lower half and trying to pull the existing ball hip joints out and replacing them with another extra far from home spider man I have. Is this possible? Or is there a better way to do it? Please if anyone knows, let me know asap I'm frantic lol I don't buy figures alot because I'm living paycheck to paycheck and I really loved this figure, and it hasn't even been a week since I got it in the mail. I'm as devastated as someone could be over a broken action figure lol so please someone help. The ball joint is also stuck in the leg too which adds another layer of complexity, and an extra middle finger "f**k you" from the action figure gods. Please help anyone

Thank you! I don't know in all honesty, they're very brittle figures now, it's a shame to see considering how much potential the articulation has

I think the reason why marvel legends arm breaking is because they use a rubber plastic material but if you cut that bit off it may help
Thats exactly what I show in the video

Hasbro really needs to stop putting limiters on in their butterfly joints bc it limits the movement

Yeah, you shouldn't have to do anything to them, and you shouldn't have to be so careful with them either
The problem with mine is that the paint on the forearm’s joint, keeps chipping. I also despise how the hips look.
I always do the hip thing to my gi joes classified with sandpaper, if i don't do it, they break, plain and simple
