Another fantastic video VBH, production quality is top notch. Drove the Porsche’s sister car, very compelling. Have yet to have a go in a Taycan but it’s encouraging what the future holds with EV’s (not sure about the pricing though)

So the new model S Plaid is also a supercar as it’s quicker 0-60, weighs less and has more HP. Oh yeah, it does a 9.2s 1/4 mile at 150mph. :) Can’t wait to see what you think of it.

Nice review as always VBH! The 2 ton elephant in the room is of course the Tesla Model S Plaid. I dont like the way Porsche endlessly tries to claim that the tech and the repeatable performance are something only the Taycan can do, the modern Teslas can pull exactly the same trick and in the case of the Plaid Model S, it'll do it a lot faster, in a straight line and round a track. The Tesla is also over 200kg lighter. And £20k cheaper. With 100 miles more range. The Taycans only actual claim at this point is that it is more fun to drive than a Plaid Model S, but I'm not sure I buy that either. Porsche need to pull their socks up.
You should check out some of the actual reviews of the Teslas first... Like on quality and the fact noone gets anywhere near Tesla's claimed ranges?

Good video and I love your sense of fun. I appreciate you are trying your hand in the shark infested waters that is TH-cam but when you call something "full review" and given your level of knowledge and experience you could have given this a bit more of a critique and less "brochure" .... But then again I suppose that might have upset Mr Webber :-)

£140K eh... bargain by comparison to the £200K here in Au.
569 miles sort of sounds a long way, but over 12 hours that's just 47 mph. A diesel 3-Series could likely do it in one go, faster and with more space for luggage. And that sort of sums up the whole electric car issue at the moment: that if for some reason you want to drive such a distance you don't want to be like Mr Palmer and spend 4 of the 12 hours in a diner drinking coffee waiting for the car to charge.
Minor point, but the Taycan does of course have a gearbox, even if it's only a 2-speed one. Electric motors produce maximum torque a zero rpm and it declines thereafter, so if you want a Porsche-befitting top speed as well as the headline 0-60 time you are going to have to drop the revs at some point.
Nevertheless, if you're not going to take it a long way, and you're prepared to compromise on how you pack your luggage, I think it's a cracking car and absolutely a true Porsche.
