Really? Almost all the car people I know know about it. Even young people.
It's funny. I use a Nissan r390 as my R class car, and it keeps up with, if not, surpasses the leaderboard cars on forza (I'm actually 23rd on the Virginia Patriot Circuit) but nobody uses it.

And this is why we need the CC8S, CCR, CCX, Cerbera Speed 12, Zonda C12.The collection would be complete with those 5 included. I really do fantasise over the 1990s - early 2000s super cars, I have a book full of blueprints that I sketched.

The Nissan R390 came to be because Nissan wanted to enter into the 24 hours of Le Mans under the GT1 class. The rules for participating required that the car have a road going counterpart. So, only two street legal R390s were ever built. After that Nissan started developing the GT1 version. Nissan has one of the R390s in storage and the other was sold at auction. Originally Nissan put a $1,000,000 price tag on it, but they never actually intended to sell or produce anymore. It only existed so that Nissan could make the GT1 version.

Awesome video Alex! The F50 is still my absolute favourite car of all time although it does lack straight line speed it is a fantastic car to drive

There were two R390's, but Nissan kept one. Great video as always!
Its too bad no more than two R390s were made. Nissan could've had a better reputation than it already does. So many of their cars have such a loyal following, but they missed the boat on that super car. Besides that, they should have just made more than 2.

Took me so long to find this video again
Somewhat surprised the Nissan won so handily, since on the track it usually got clobbered by the CLK GTR, 911 GT1 and GT-One. Granted, Nissan and Toyota confined their GT1 programs almost exclusively to Le Mans, but I really wasn't expecting this result.
Fun fact: The R390 GT1 used Z32-chassis Z Car headlights, as did the facelifted version of the Lamborghini Diablo.
I though you raced Porsche 959 not 595. Maybe it was tuned Abarth 595 with Porsche badge?

There were 2 R390s made, the first one was the shorter variant, painted red and sold to the Sultan of Brunei, and the second is the more popular long-tailed version you see in Forza. Still owned by Nissan I think.

There we're actually 2 road going R390's, one is in a Nissan Museum while the other is a mystery as to where it is, however rumor has it that someone in England owns it!
Actually, the f40 wasn't the first production car to reach 200mph. The only source to ever mention the 200mph figure was a single Italian magazine. The first time a reliable source confirmed a production car reaching 200 was a 959S at Nardo

Seeing a Carrera GT side by side with the MC12 makes me so happy :) shame in real life the german loses to its italian counterparts. Although, i also love the SLR and the Ford GT
The mclaren f1 driver had to be a bit bad, results were awkward taking into account the top gear lap and power to weight
There was slight variation in driver skill in the races yes but you have to remember all of us driving are quick drivers, as Alex said the F1 was hard to drive and in the hotlap Alex didn't also have to worry about other cars on track. (I drove the S7 btw)

No but the le mans version did in fact both the CLK's that were competing were taken out of the race because the literally took off and flipped. I do love the road car though.

does anyone know the reason for the Ford gt90 not appearing in video games for the last few years? I thought it would have been in games like this one
Nissan released the R390-GT1 road car in '97 with the flying buttress style rear wing, and again in '98, no wing, just a rear drag lip seen in this video. Let's not forget, Toyota also released a street legal GT-One-GT1. That's also insane. I'm sure there's a TH-cam video about the owner of those R390's and GT-One, lol. As a matter of curiosity, being that you're from the UK; did TVR ever release the Cebera Speed 12 road car? I wonder if there's an owner video about it. Hmmm. Well it's off to my TH-cam/Google car forums Easter egg hunt, LMAO.

You should do more relay races
Um they built like 350 or so R390's to qualify for the restrictions of the race series it was designed for, but with a stupid high price and the economy when it was made they never sold a single one. There may be only 1 or 2 left if they crushed/ turned them into race cars, but ya it was something akin to a group b rally car like the stratos for production numbers.

I also want to point out that the Carrera is ahead for its class, which is probably an advantage Turn 10 gave it for a part of a DLC the the bugatti is slower than it should be.

It's a bit odd to see the MC-12 so far down on the Enzo, considering they're basically the same car. In fact, as I recall, the MC-12 beat the Enzo around the TG test track.
+Campbell Holder It's forza. Look carrera gt is far faster than mclaren f1 in straight line drag. MC-12 supposed to be "modified" enzo, somehow forza did this

Diablo wouldnt be competetive, its mid-low A-class
The Diablo was both slightly underpowered and slightly overweight compared to, say, the F50. It really would've struggled here, more so than the 959 did.
Personally, the CLK GTR has some weird handling characteristics when standard, so I just put the front and rear standard aero to max down force and it's amazing to drive

impega 1957 it doesn't really suit my driving style is what I mean. It's got weird characteristics for what I like. But like I said, change the downforce and it's much more to my liking

I'm curious as to why RUF wasn't present in this at all. I mean, the Yellowbird and the CTR2 weren't exactly record breakers per se, but they were a very similar caliber of vehicle from the same era. It's kind of a shame they couldn't join the test. I would've liked to see how they compared here.
Now that I think about it, imagine how amusing it would be if the Ford RS200 Evolution was in this test, too. I mean, I feel like it would be at least somewhat competitive here, plus watching it overtake everything at the beginning of a straight and then be overtaken by the same cars at the end of that straight would've been funny to see.

Why do the players always keep hitting the rev limiter for almost 2 seconds, before changing up the gears? Doesn't that cut the speed during aceleration?

I think the mclaren f1, was too high PI (because of it's top speed?). 627 hp in 1200 kg should be one of the fastest accelerating car here.

The carrera gt is so overpowered in this game that its annoying, it beat the enzo in every way while in real life it was the other way

Why does some cars have Gran Turismo interior?
+Error Creator I was thinking the same thing, then again most cars in GT6 don't even have a detailed interior.
+Error Creator They don't normally, for some reason the replay camera around village at silverstone uses an interior cam with terrible quality
Replay interior cameras have low quality, likely due to making sure that the game runs at a smooth 60fps even in rain during replays

Ok, so it is a glitch. Good to know. Probably some LOD issue for other cars in replays as Alex's F40's cockpit was fine.
Why is Saleen S7 in this golden age mix? it does not deserve this spot, a lambo should have a spot in this mix.

No modern lamborghini's have ever holded a record (the miura has but would of been too underpowered, so would of the countach.), where as the Saleen S7 (especially the twin turbo variant) was the fastest American car and one of the fastest cars ever produced (with a top speed of 248mph/400k/h) until the SSC Ultimate Aero and Hennessey Venom was launched.

actually the Toyota GT-one road car is faster, either 227 or 236 mph and infinitely better looking. Also Mclaren bought the rights to the 3.5L v8 in the r390 and later developed it into the 3.8L engine in the 12c and P1
+Sean Taylor The Toyota GT-One road car wasn't an intentionally made car so it wasn't classified as a production car so it didn't get the title. The Nissan R390 road car however was intentionally made as a 'production car' (which is wasn't really as it was one car, but hey ho) so that they could put the race car variant into the FIA GT1 race series (which Mercedes did with the CLK-GTR which is in the video and Porsche did with the 911 GT1 Straßenversion)
ismazara that was the original purpose of the gt-one road car as well but rules changes forced them to move the gt-one to the prototype class. While they never intended to sell the road car it still had to be made road legal

Forza is biased towards the Carrera. In real life the enzo set the record for fastest 0-100-0 and the Carrera couldn't beat it.

My favorite car there is the Ferrari 40. While the Ferrari F40 would be the best choice, you wouldn't ever drive it because it's an F40. Also, the Ferrari wouldnt actually start.
