I live in Adelaide which is where Hilltop Hoods is from but I question if they have had Australia's biggest hip hop/rap song, surely Iggy would have that title
This in a general list and not official. It is missing some quite big songs. The problem is, this list needed to be about 100 to not miss any big songs. Australia is an entertainment powerhouse. A lot of the biggest actors are originaly Australian or got their start in Australian movies or TV shows. Huge Jackman (The Greatest Showman, Wolverine), Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge), Kate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings, The Aviator), Russell Crow (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind), Mel Gibson (Leathal Weapon, Braveheart), Margott Robbie (Barbie Movie, Wolf of Wall Street), Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation), Chris Hemsworth (Thor and Star Trek), Heath Leadger (The Dark Night, A Knights Tail), Hugo Weaving (The Matrix and Lord of the Rings), Eric Banna (Hulk and Chopper), Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby and Animal Kingdom), Guy Pearce (LA Confidential, Pracilla Queen of the Desert), Geoffrey Rush (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Kings Speach), Naomi Watts (King Kong, Mulholland Drive), Rose Byrne (Brides Maids and Bad Neighbours), Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect and Brides Maids), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers and Now You See Me) Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense and Knives Out) and Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee movies). Paul Hogan as Mick Dundee put Australia on the international map. Well AC/DC made it big in America first but Crocodile Dundee made Australia mega famous. The Bee Gees started their career in Australia but are considered more British. You need to check out Cold Chisel. Australian Rock royalty. They are defiantly the number one music artists in Australia. They have been going for about 50 years. As Aussie music industry and tv legend Molly Meldrum would say. Do Yourself a favour.

You need to work your way through these songs. The Nosebreed Section is definitely worth your time.
Definitely, I’ve taken the time to look a few up on Apple Music, they are great songs🔥
Australian music is like 80s style
That’s because all the great stuff came from the 80s..
Check out another video 150 Australian bands and artists
@@1legend517 the top 150?
Live clips are hard to get a clear sense of the song with.
@@markleon411 You’re right, and it kept going fast too.
@@VivitStudios You should react to the music videos or official audios of each song to really hear them. I think you'll like a lot of these songs if you hear them as they're meant to be heard.
@@Erizedd you are right💯
Yo bro, no Easybeats? 😮
Too young to remember that Big M ad. 😅
Yo my man Vick, check out the Easybeats "Sorry" 👍
Easy beats sounds like a hip hop group😂 I’ll definitely check them out brother. Thank you🫡
@@VivitStudios😂😂 they were actually Aussie pub rock band. Not Hip Hop 😂😂😂😂 I don’t remember them much only that song they played on this video but all I know is they had Malcom and Angus Young‘s (from AC/DC) big brother in the band. 😂😂😂😂
Hi Vick. Australia has great musicians in various genres. But of course I have to mention the history of Australian music goes back thousands of years.
But I want you to know that Australia has high voltage electric power. It's 240 volts. It's the reason for the safety switches.
And that's why the band AC⚡DC has a song High Voltage.
"High voltage rock 'n roll" 🤘😀
Hey bro many americans come over and watch Aussie Rules - we've had a lot of NBA players watch and admire the game, along with hollywood celebrities etc.
Favourite song from 3 diffrent countrys
Hill Top Blues - "Cosby Sweater" INXS - "New Sensation"
My Top 3 Aussie Groups
1 AC/DC
2 INXS
3 Men At Work
Check out "Mystify me" by INXS
And the way of the world by Max Q.
Apologies if this is the same list I commented on before There is The Church and Nick Cave!🤗
Jimmy Barnes goes for the second most hated team in the AFL, that is Port Adelaide, who wear the prison bar guernsey every so often to reflect their history
Some good hits but plenty more worthy.
I live in Adelaide which is where Hilltop Hoods is from but I question if they have had Australia's biggest hip hop/rap song, surely Iggy would have that title
@@mrFU Hilltop Hoods sounds cool😂🔥🔥
Check out Aussie Hip Hop - Bliss N Eso, Hilltop Hoods
Fun Fact: Vance Joy played for the Richmond Tigers
@@belongda6032 Oh ok, I’ll look it up🫡
@@belongda6032 did he really? I did not know this or forgot his name. Firsts or VFL?
@@arconeagain He played for there VFL side, but wasn't a listed player.
My current best pick would be The Teskey Brothers - there is some soul from Australia!
That dodge tee is fire
Check out Cold Chisel. Huge range of songs and, our greatest band, just my opinion.
@12:15 yes that song was good from Australian Crawl but I love their other song better it’s more upbeat it’s called The Boys Light Up
John Farnham is number 1 for me. Jimmy Barnes right up there with him.
Fancy talking over the ultimate Aussie reaction to “Am I ever gunna see your face again!!” 🤦🏼♀️
Are those two microphones a prop only? It seems like they aren't turned on.
They work brother
Check out Kev Carmody. A brilliant songwriter. Very undervalued.
@@victoriatregilgas9207 Oh ok, I’ll look it up, thank you!🙏🏿
@@VivitStudios no worries. Oh and hill top hoods did a rap version of red gums classic I was only 19.
There are a lot of classic groups that missed out. I've rarely agreed with Triple J lists.
@@carolthorson7854 The list ain’t so good, I even had problem with it, and I’m not even Aussie😂
You have to check out the music video of Kylie Minogue - Can't get you out of my head. You won't regret it 🔥🔥 😍
Aussie pub rock was the best

@tamh6119 still hating Moonbeam. Tsk tsk.
Check out John Farnham live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, doing covers of 'Help' & 'It's a long way to the top', they are both better than the original.
Panderin' Playa !
Nothin' more !
Thanks mate! I really enjoyed this. Your enthusiasm was infectious 😅👍❤
Some good, some bad stuff on the list. I agree with you, the original maker of that video didn't give you a real chance to hear the songs, also the quality of some of those videos wasn't the best. Hopefully you get a chance to hear the one's you liked better now that you have heard of them 😊
Seeing as he is my favourite and I really think the video did him dirty by hardly playing his song, please see below what I believe to be the best version of John Farnham's song You're The Voice, featured at number 7 on this video. It is with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and it is amazing. Please feel free to react to it if you're interested ❤❤th-cam.com/video/6m2m_9Uijso/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fi_KIMAQ35kBA2-j
Another great band is the Hilltops Hoods, also featured in the video. Try Cosby Sweater or The Nosebleed Section. They are a great local hiphop group.
Enough from me. Thanks again!! 😊❤❤
@@AnnieD.1982 Thank you so much!🙏🏿 I’ve listened to a few on Apple music, I realized the ones in this video were all LIVE bands, but actual songs are really good. I really appreciate you showing love, that means a lot to me💯
@@VivitStudiosNo worries 😊 Enjoyed your reaction.
Cool. Glad you found some to watch on Apple. There is so much good music out there so thanks for giving the Australian music scene some extra love ❤
Keep up the great work!! 👍😊
GOTYE took his name from Game Of The Year Edition.
@@jackamo3108 That’s actually a very creative way to come up with a name haha😂
The thing is the bloke that did the list forgot about Sia?!?!?
Come and visit Oz please! you are fun :)
I get he used live clips BUT the bad sound quality means you miss much of the great sounds of each artist musically & vocally.
For ME that's disappointing 🤷🏻♀️
Cold Chisel could have 15 songs at No. 1.
The guy promoting these songs doesn't know other bands and singers before he was born were so great. He wants to be a populist but is very ignorant. Australia have many good songs from the 70s and this guy is a radio DJ.
Still no Triffids Skyhooks Go Betweens Models Painters and Dockers Kim Salmon etc
I know this was made 2 months ago so you may not read this but seriously, the clips used in this video really don't do the songs justice. Live versions are only great (in my opinion) when you already know the words to the song.
These opinions are just opinions and as they say..not neccisarily so !
@@HenriHattar You’re right💯

@@VivitStudios well done with the cultural reference, you owned it. However, many are forgetting that Port Adelaide were the Magpies before joining the AFL.

@@Katrinagaming-en1os Haha yea the dude added a lot of songs in the top 10 that’s shouldn’t even be there.
this guy is to young for wisdom here
There is extremely mediocre music in Australia......except THE GOAT - John Farnham.
Sorry not the best list all good a few greats but there are so many more that I would put on this list over some of these
You have one person's selective pick. Great songs yes, but the greatest? How many are women performers or bands? How many were great before this kid was born?
You can't say the greatest of all time when you haven't bothered to do more research than just one person's opinion. How would you feel if I said Eminem and Iggy Azalea are the all time best singers of their styles of music, because they were the only names I knew?
My wife pointed out that, although it's described as an '80s song by the narrator, I Touch Myself came out in 1990. It's just a song that feels like it's been around forever.
Also, And, Amphlett in a wonderful homage to Chrissy Amphlett , they made an amazing breast cancer awareness ad to "I Touch Myself".
th-cam.com/video/FeaO2BrrIf8/w-d-xo.html
l wouldn't put half these on a top 30 list.
oh and the sound is crap.
