We did a 16 day bus trip from Sydney through North Queensland across to NT and then down through SA and finally back to Sydney. We slept in tents or just our sleeping bags the whole time either beside the road or in some field. . The worst part was this was during school holidays so we missed the fun of staying home for the holidays. I think our parents just wanted us gone.

We mainly went to beach areas, I will never forget the sand in every part of my body, hair, clothes, shoes, no hot showers nearby, and the insect bites - itchy! 🥴 One camp was mixed schools, I will never forget romantic Reece from the boys camp either! 😍

I got roped into playing in the high school band in 8th grade. We had a 2 week camp every year, usually to learn and rehearse the yearly high school annual play. The girls at bandcamp were exactly as you'd expect. 😉

Practically having a PTSD flashback watching this😅 I got my first period at school camp, I cried the whole time and everyone made fun of me, the principal had to drive me home .... I'm 30 now but still recovering... Pray for me

Unfortunately our school camps were indefinitely cancelled because the teachers couldn't handle us. 😂😂

Fun Fact - In the 70's, 80's and 90's there was great Live Music in Pubs. Many of the larger "Beer Barns" were packed every weekend with people to see bands like The Angels, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Divinyls, Powderfinger, Eskimo Joe, Custard, Regurgitator and many more plus great cover bands playing the best of everything. It is a shame that much of this is gone.

Pubs here in the past (more so), used to have raffles and the price was a meat tray (steak, chops, snags etc). My local had crayfish (like lobster) as a prize (Helped I lived in an area that was a fishing town)
