My truck sat and doesn't want to spit fuel. I took the solenoids off and that part was stuck, but still no fuel after freeing it. I know it's getting fuel to it, solenoid moves. at 5:15 you remove inlet filter and check valve. Could this be my problem and could I get to it without removing the whole pump? Thanks in advance, I know the video is a few years old. You've done a great job on the series, I just don't want to put that much time into this old girl as I don't have the time. But I'd hate to have to let it go.

Hello. I found that almost everything on the pump was either difficult or impossible to get to with the pump mounted on the motor. If you have found some items gummed up from old fuel, you can bet the inside of the pump has the same issue, so I would bite the bullet, and pull the pump for a thorough cleaning.

Hello, I wanted to ask you how you test the transfer pressure of the Stanadyne db24. Greetings from Argentina

Could you tell me why my pump head got stuck? Is it because of some impurity?

I had trouble finding true service manuals for specific models. I think most of that info is kept under wraps by the manufacturers who only supply it to injection pump rebuilders. Luckily, the Stanadyne DB series has been around so long, that you can find plenty of older manuals just by searching "stanadyne DB2 pump manual" or DB4 etcetera. If you find a manual close enough to the model you have, you will at least be able to see how it comes apart, and maybe even some data on settings. I even found a manual that is a US Army technical manual that had good info. Like I tell people all the time, I'm not an expert, but I get lucky a lot.

@@stevewatr same here. Hey I got a question I have a 6.9 idi it started skipping loosing power leaking fuel everywhere. What I thought was a loose injection line turned out to be broke clean through. I shut it down and ordering new lines. Could this hurt the pump running like this?

@@jackdaicole7595 again, im not expert, but I think a long as fuel was moving through the pump it should not have caused damage. The fuel lubricates the pump. And the injectors do not pop off if the pressure is low due to leaks.
