omg that's so smart!! I'm thinking of doing a faux brick wall with foam panels but since they don't fit in my car, I could by multiple smaller ones and cover the seams with joint compound!! thank you!!!
Thank you for this video, it's exactly what I was looking for! I didn't want to do the white wash or any other kind of extra finish, just make the stock panel look seemless and you guys did an awesome job!
Thank you so much for the compliment of the family aspect 😍 and for noticing the BEWARE OF FISH sign, it was definitely a favorite piece!! I’m excited to do the follow up.. still good so far!
Yours looks great but honestly, I think it takes some pretty good art skills to pull this off. I could never get mine to look like that. Even trying to match those colors takes some skill
This turned out great! I want to do this but I want to paint the bricks white and leave the grout gray. I’ve been searching for a video like this where you explain how you hid the seam. Thank you!
Good job, I hate those non-seamless panels but after you took the time to blend it, I’m considering them over what would have amounted to about $1,500 in the higher end seamless panels for a 16ft x 8ft tall space. A little bit of effort definitely paid off 👏🏽
Thank you Chris! We were seriously shocked at how great it it turned out. I knew we could get it close but I could barely find the seams after it was finished. Good luck on your project :)
Loved it! I was at HD today looking at Retreat (brick) and Picasso Ledger (super nice but expense to cover a big wall) and saw the Kingston Brick Panel and thought what a awesome alternative, but those seams bothered me. I needed to research. This was very good video. I wanted to ask as I couldnot make out what did do for the top, is that black wood molding? Thank you
Great job guys, but I am a bit confused, myself with average DIY abilities I wonder how do you match two panels brick picture. Your video did not show how, eventhou it was obvious two bricks on a two panels boarders were not aligned. Thanks.
Did you have to remove your baseboards before putting up the panels? Did you have to use any shims behind you trim? I do not have any doors or outlets on the wall, but I do have baseboard and some window trim.
Did you put a coat over this at the end? I am currently doing this and where I put joint compound I can’t get the bricks clean again like the others. They look like they have white dust all over them. I have washed them around 4 times now. How can I get them bright and colorful like the areas I didn’t use joint compounded on.
Can you send me images of what’s happening to my email? Roomreviver@gmail.com.. let me look and see , I don’t want to tel you the wrong thing without checking it out :) let me know once you have sent the pics.
Hi Shelley! This everything from the label even the SKU, who knows maybe they can look it up. I hope this helps :) Also, if you need to make any of the colors darker or lighter, or even add a bit of black, I used basic white and black acrylic paint as needed. @@roomreviver hey there. Our Home Depot said they could not do the custom color in Flat Matte, only Satin, which I worry will be a bit too shiny for this project. Did your Home Depot give you any pushback?
We found out too late that the print on the panels are not straight across from one panel to the other, there’s 1/2” drop from the left side to the right. So now I’ve got to fill in the seam bottom to top and make new “straight” grout line left to right.
Great video, thanks for sharing! Few questions, at which point did you do the color match: did you use the panel for the match before purchasing it so that it got the same color or do all the panels have the same color so it didn't matter which panel you used to get the match? Thanks in advance!
Hi and thank you! When we first started we contemplated doing a white wash but when we saw it up we knew we wanted to keep it the same color and blend it. We took a small part of the wall that was trimmed off, back up to Home Depot to color match .. so at any point would work to color match your brick panel and any panel works! Also once you get it color matched I would keep some white / black acrylic paint (Depending on exact wall) to help blend the color matches with lighter/darker tones. Hope that helps :)
Hey guys, so I'm totally copying what you did, but the Home Depot is having a time matching the brick color. He actually watched your video and he was trying to get the numbers off the top of your paint containers. He said that number would allow him to pull up the exact color of your match. Any chance you still have those laying around? If so, it'd be awesome if you could take a snapshot. Eternally grateful if you could help a fella out!

love the vid but please dont do this to cover the cracks ,Ive installed these same walls in numerous houses I m a carpenter and can tell you that it will crack in no time. Mdf expands and contracts your better off using grey silicone or what i did was using painters caulking and painting the bricks all white. DRYWALL WILL CRACK IN SEEMS
Hi Jack - thank you for reaching out and for the concern. This Home Depot Brick paneling is actually HDF. And yes like wood it can expand depending on where you install it. Like any wood, paneling or flooring it should sit in your home where it will be installed up to 5 days with permanent heating or air conditioning systems operating (depends on season of install) to acclimate to the surroundings. Besides filling in the seams with joint compound, the top, bottom and sides were filled in with flexible, paintable caulk which may help with any expansion. Again I appreciate you bringing this up - this is a great side note to add before starting the project. I will also do an update video in a year, to see how well it's holding up. :) Have a great day!

Love the family aspect of the video, and the BEWARE OF FISH sign above the fish tank! Your follow-up video in a year will be most interesting.

Oh my goodness! This is great!! We’ve been wanting to do something similar to this in our family room! So helpful! I need Allen to watch this too!
That’s awesome! You will have to let me know if you try it out! 😘🙌🏼
Great job!!!! Super helpful info!!! I'm wanting to do this for a "studio set" for youtube, and the seam has had me worried.
Sweet fancy Moses. That iPhone memories music makes this video!
Haha thank you!
Thanks for sharing the idea. I’m gonna try it.
You’re welcome! Let me know if you do! :)
Great video, helped me a lot. Do you have the codes for the color matches?
Do you have the color match colors from Home Depot. I see it’s red but need the label to know what it’s mixed with to get that matching color.
This is my question also. I see this is a old comment.

cover the grout with tape and use air spray
Gluing it on? Won't that destroy the sheetrock when you pull the paneling off?
Really really nice
Thank you so much!

Is there a really bright light behind the camera?
It’s a shame Home Depot it not selling them anymore .
You look so good on camera.
Way to be a perv, instead of complimenting them on their work.

No we left the baseboards on. For the gaps near the baseboard / door molding, after the panels were up we used a light gray flex paintable caulk.
Great question Nicki, my thoughts too, lol.

this can use for exterior or not for down mobile home
I would not use on exterior.
Wouldn't you think the grout or cement would match the existing. Thats crazy.
Can you share the colors you used?
Yes! I am going to get the colors today and I will give you the color match #!

Wrong compound. It may crack and should be used with paper tape. Use spakling or fiber reinforced compounds for wall repair

Wish I would've used caulk in the seams when I did this last year. I only used joint compound in the seams and every one cracked in a few months.
I was told the same thing by the Home Depot employee when I went there today, that drywall compound will crack, and I should use caulking.....
