Just a minor detail, the short sword that Naoe has is wakizashi, the so-called "Ninjato" is actually from 20th century (there is no physical evidence that it existed before that). It also wouldn't make sense for shinobi to use something like this since they were a secret spies, so having a sword that would identify you as one of them would kinda defeat the whole purpose of being a "secret" spy.
I was under the impression that it was a tanto. Please correct me if I’m wrong
@@HahahMamaman Yes, it could be a tanto as well. Tanto was usually a small dagger, however, some could be a bit longer (up to 30 cm I believe). So what Naoe has could be a long tanto or short wakizashi.
They devs already said she dual wields the hidden blade with her tanto, so it's Most likely a tanto

In the official website, it says that Yasuke will have to face the "demons of his past". Now that could simply be a reference to the killing he did under Oda's orders, but I wonder if it couldn't mean something else? Like, for example, he witnessed the templars doing something fishy in his homeland, so now he wants to protect Japan from them.
It probably has to do with him being a slave for years

I get the suspicion that Yasuke is either a Templar at the start of the game, or unknowingly working for them through Oda Clan. I also hope to god we finally get to see what Clay meant by writing "Yonaguni" on the walls of his cell in the very first game.
Yonaguni I think is an Isu precursor site or a "temple". In the real world, it is an underwater mysterious archaeological site with megalithic structures compared to the pyramids of mesoamerican culture.
@@aishite_imasu097 I've always assumed that too. It was on the globe projection in Origins and the crossover story in Odyessy. Vidic also said "two on landmasses that dont exist in 2012." Atlantis/Santorini was one, Yonaguni has to be the other
The first thought i had while watching the part when Naoe pass a note to Yasuke was "I can't wait for the Access The Animus team to decipher it to tell us what it says".

The devs translated that already! It said that the targets were in the castle. Then the next scene is Yasuke busting down the shoji doors at said castle.
We got a fan in the comments saying it means "The enemy is at Takeda Castle.''!
I wouldn't be surprised if the templars were searching for the legendary Seven-branched sword which would be comparable to Xcalibur. It's housed at Isonokami shrine situated firmly within the Kansai region!

Since we got a chained dart "aka the rope dart from AC3" can we hang our enemies from trees, bridges, and buildings like we could in AC3? Or possibly use the chain dart to snag an enemy above us and pull him/her down to our level or lower and mercy kill them with our hidden blade as they r falling?
love the idea of what "shadows" can mean.
What got my attention was the very pointed out mentioning of "unification" in the dev commentary. Combine this with the idea of the modern day being "outsourced" starting with this game and the Teaser found in mirage about the "great shift" from a future perspective, this may play into "to unify the brotherhood we must see what unified japan" type of thing, maybe with some intro video ties to the modern day osaka cell and infinity taking over from there.
Since we'll have the return of rifles I hope they bring back the human shield from ac 3, also the rope dart.
A very good video showing all the little details. just 2 that i missed were:
1. the target puts a scroll away when he stops running in the first part of the video. Might this hint at a clue based targeting system or like odyssey where you have branches and need to kill them to reveal new targets?
2 the information given by the informant has text on it. Did you guys try to find out what it says and if so does it give any new info or possible insights to gameplay features?
1 - Yes, that might actually be the case! It really depends on how hunting targets works this time and how much that also relies on our network of spies!
2 - Yes! A fan in the comments mentioned it means `The enemy is at Takeda Castle.'' --> thus another confirmation the Takeda clan will be involved in the story!

... and I honestly don't think that the writers considered being limited by the lore of a mobile game from more than 10 years ago that not a lot of people remember by now...
I'd hope to be wrong, but the reality of game production oftentimes tramples the story established in relatively distant and not popular transmedia or byproducs...

Wonder who the Brotherhood is in this game. Who will aid Naoe to form part of the Assassins. I don't think the Shinobi have the Brotherhood aiding them. Perhaps like in all games, we'll meet an Assassin who recruits the character. Some say we may see the woman from AC china.
Edit: so the Shinobi attire is her Assassin robes? I though that was her default ninja suit and the Brotherhood will give her the traditional robes but made to her 🥷 suit

My money is on Fujibashi Nagatao being the Mentor of the Assassin brotherhood for Japan.
I’m personally betting Hanzo Hattori having a tie to the Assassin brotherhood. Not only did he have a tie to Iga, which was home to the Iga shinobi but he is also a prominent figure that was around and active during this time. I follow this with Kotaro Fuuma making an appearance whether directly or as a rumor.
Would you like if Yasuke got an hidden blade in the last missions of the story?

Moreover,it's not like the Brotherhood didn't have brawlers.Think of Bartolomeo and Mario Auditore. Damn,the founder of the Brotherhood himself was more a warrior than a stealth guy.

I wouldn’t put it past him. Historically a lot of daimyo such as Nobunaga and Masamune were collectors of exotic goods. Question is which Isu group would this version of Nobunaga’s supposed artifact come from?

@@purplemismagius28 True. So my best guess is it’ll be from the Greco-Roman grouping. Would fit in with the fact that historically Nobunaga was known to shelter Jesuit missionaries and would tie into his interest in exotic goods. Maybe the story can have it be an artifact that he is gifted by one of the Jesuits in return for his pledging allegiance to the Templars.
@@mirandagoldstine8548 my personal thought is that the sword (if it’s part of the narrative) might be the grass cutting sword Kusanagi, which yes seems a bit too obvious, but it still fits the whole “relic passed down through nobility from the ancient ones” narrative very well.

... but it might be "un-true" because AC Shadows might actually retcon Memories. It's a mobile game from 10+ years ago against a main release with a huge post launch, I wouldn't put that retcon past the devs

I was a bit skeptical about this game as it’s not exactly my style. But man, it does sound pretty fun. Whether or not it performs well I am sure I will find some enjoyment in it.
I only wish they would have made yasuke a Templar and have the player conflicted between the two characters.

Finally after 9 years, we can play again as an Assassin and hunting Templars. Since Origins to Mirage is playing as Hidden Ones and hunting the Order of the Ancients. As much as I am excited for the narrative now, I am also curious of what role will Basim will do here. Will he be the modern day character we will be playing who will relive these memories on the animus since Layla is not around anymore? This time around, I wonder also who's genetic memory they will be using or who are the decendants of NAoe and Yasuke will be introduced?
I think Ubisoft are just too lazy to give Assassins dual hidden blades now. They want to focus on the other weapons with a single hidden blade used simultaneously.
It's quite irritating since the Assassins Post-Altaïr should generally have two hidden blades since it was innovated in his Codex.

3. I would like the character of Yasuke in AC, if he was a protagonist of DLC or just the best assistant. Cause it's simply way much natural, sane, immersive❤
