    The JDXI is the best value for the money. Its a great synth/sequencer. yeah its limited in areas, but the price point is just about unbeatable.

    Thank you so much for this video. I was really struggling with twisting the knobs but the elbows up tip really helped a ton. Cheers

    The best video!!! Answered so many questions after playing with the JDXi only a few times. I LOVE this synth, especially for drum patterns and live recording. Can't wait to have fun with arpeggios!

    I cannot PERMANENTLY erase the programmed sequence in bank E01. I thought from what you were saying I could??? I understand A-D banks can only be temporarily erased, but for me, E01's programmed sequence returns when I power my JD-Xi on again. What am I missing?

    • @skyshifter5796
      @skyshifter5796 ปีที่แล้ว

      After erasing, you have to save the program. Did you do that?

    Hi Ed! Buddy, may I use Live Recording with metronome click but hearing that only on Phones Output? I tried to find this on settings, but I didn't find. Could I edit where the click goes out? Because it looks bad when I start to record a live

    any tips on MIDI settings going from the JDXI to the BOSS-202 ?..im using a Roland A-49 for my JDXI MIDI in...so i have to go MIDI out to the 202....i see some people saying to set MIDI so no PROGRAM or CC or MIDI notes are sent or else it can glitch, some said just use the midi clock?...and not sure about TEMPO sync or LOOP sync?...any tips from anyone?..im suprised i havent seen any videos of people using those 2 gear pieces in conjunction, as slave and master giving setup tips.

    Thanks for this video. Why the jd-xi starts up with one measure and Bank A program 001. I like to start with an empty bank and four measures. Can we expect an update to change this? It would be nice if you can start with the setting you need instead of errasing pattern A and change the settings into four measures. It's not locigal to change it every time at starting up. Hope to hear an answer.

    Thank you and DJ for your tutorials! You both are awesome and easy to follow. I do have one question, if I want to record a song that has sustained notes like I wanted Jingle Bells to play in the background while I play over the top. I can't figure it out, it seems the notes are abrupt and I can't record different notes for different lengths of time.... Am I missing something. Thank you for ANY HELP

    • @EDcase1
      @EDcase1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can live record playing jingle bells and then play over it while its playing back but will have to use the same sound.
      Sustained notes can be done with the step recorder by hitting the first note and then press KEY HOLD to sustain it for the next steps.

    Once a program has been saved can it be editing and re saved or does it all need ti be done with all 4 voices in 1 sitting?

    • @EDcase1
      @EDcase1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It can be saved at any time then worked on some more and saved over the same slot or a new one. Press SHIFT + MENU to save

    Hello,
    I have the Roland JD-Xi Analogue-Digital synth. I am currently trying to use it with an Alesis MMT-8 Midi Sequencer.
    The MMT-8 sequencer has a "song" mode (a built in pattern sequencer). However, when progressing from one Step to the next, its not activating for the tracks that I have drum sounds on from the JD-Xi, but only the tracks that I have programmed the 'synth' sounds on.
    I am wondering if this is because I used the Roland JD-Xi's pattern sequencer when creating the drum beat, instead of physically 'keying' the drums in like I did with the synth parts? (I did it like that to get the timing exact).
    Could you please provide any help/insight on this if possible? Thanks much.

    Hello all... the sequencer kicks in and plays automatically when I send tempo data from my RC300 looper to the JDXI - does anybody know how to prevent this?

    can you play piano sounds on this?

    • @Goettel
      @Goettel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but the acoustic piano sounds are pretty shitty and playing them on mini keys doesn't make them any better. The electric pianos are good though.

    How do you delete individual sounds from a pattern? For example, a hi hat on one button instead of the whole pattern

      Just select the sound by pressing the key for it and unselect the lit pattern lights
