I didn't know this synt is so awesome till now. I've seen lots of demos but nobody made such a incredible performance. Now I gonna buy one. I need so bad this kind of synth. I love your style of making music. You got real talent and inspiration. Thanks a lot !!!
Got my jdxi 3 weeks ago and came from never having played a keyboard EVER, been at a bit of a loss as to how to use the synthesizer until I watched your video, got my head around the recording modes at least for now :) thanks so much for the video
I have a Mininova and I just bought the JDXI a few days ago. I also bought the IK Multimedia Media Uno Synth. I love all three. Don't sleep on the Uno Synth. The JDXI is the most user-friendly plus it have drums! You could do a whole album with that bad boy
@@miguelreina786 Yes, I've since sold the mini nova because I didn't really like it after all. I bought it again on the cheap as I knew it would sell because some people like it. Then I traded it for a Beringer Model D (Which I then traded for a Korg Wave station SR) To answer your question, the JDXI is infinitely more fun than the Mini Nova. The sounds were too digital and dry for my taste. But then I like to tweak presets. Not create them from scratch. The Nova may be better if you're into sound design.
I see. But I've read on the mininova hardware you cant create presets from scratch, the only way is by using the vst plugin. So it is limited to the presets in that way... So that sucks. On the other hand, I see the Roland JDXI too plasticky and entry level. I want a nice vocoder, rich leads, plucks, pads, and the most important "heavy distorted bass" sounds for creating Drum & Bass and House. I cant find the perfect synth for less than $500.@@christhedemocrat
Awesome video! While I wouldn’t necessarily call it “underrated”, I see plenty of people referring to the JD-Xi as a ‘toy’! And this thing is no toy! Been playing around with one recently and loving it. As an electrical engineer, the fact that it has an analog synth built in is quite nice :)
Lmao this was just awesome I am all self taught on guitar for like 20 years and I'm just a huge fan of synth and filters I really wanna get this its so versatile
I think i have that same pair of brown panasonic speakers in the background, ive got em hooked up to a sub and a hifi amp that has built in room correction and they might be my favorite pair of speakers
That was impressive I just picked up one on reverb with the overlays now the only thing is I wish I could get that for my jdxa but I don't know where I can get the overlays for it
I've had one for over a year and haven't been able to do anything on it.The insruction manual I can't get to grips with.I've followed this tutorial and others and I still can't make a recording.Im wondering if I've pressed that many buttons that the factory settings have disappeared if that's something that can happen. If I think I've made a recording i.e.basic drum pattern all I get when I press play is the built in samples.I could do with some help.
Hey mate! I recommend that you contact our service team about this issue. Otherwise here is a very in-depth playlist on the JD-Xi! th-cam.com/play/PLmLJ2Wanv6-CVdGuCf2g9AU8mN6vGsgIQ.html
On the step recorder, do you have to use Drums or can you use a piano or strings? And can you press down multiple notes while using the step recording?
With step recording and pressing multiple notes, if the sound is polyphonic you can input multiple notes or chords for each step. You're also able to use any sound whether that be drums, piano or strings!
OMG PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD , MAKE THE VOICE LOWER THAN THE SYNTH! So many people do this. I crank up the synth which sounds great, then, when you start talking, its like trash can's falling down behind me! No offence but the synth is beautiful and yes, your voice is like trash cans getting knocked over when it comes in. Otherwise, great demo/instructional.

I have a Micro Korg and a Novation Mini Nova so now i may need to add this to the collection of Synthesizers!!!!

Just got it. Great little synth with a lot of "quirks".

Again just a great demo
Excellent performance on an awesome sounding synth.
Can't wait til mine arrives. Such a great piece of gear. Great vid. Thanks.

It remembers filter automation? This is the digi analogue I've been waitingnfor

after your review I bought it! Thank You for showing us How to GET THE BEATS
Excellent Jamming!
Whaooo .. you have almost convinced me into getting this thing.
Hola!!. Excelente explicación, muchas gracias

wow man! thanks for the video. A question, but how to save the track?
Hello,
Here's a link to a handy tutorial: th-cam.com/video/gkTN_RvAxZE/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps!
If you keep your finger on the shift button when playing you can change chord by single key
Can you step sequence the synth parts too?
Please Roland, answer my question...would it be possible to sample the sounds of this synth and use them commercially? thanks
Grazie!
How do you layer music and play over a beat

очень нужен такой Roland сделать подобную музыку
Wow 👍👍👍.
Very goods
big -thanks- world final stair evryone!!
This vid is 5 years old..
Next year it´ll be 6....
I'm much older than this vid.
Small synth. Big sound.
Neat. But it’s only one chord...?
4 part sequencer? 🤣 How do you supposed to break the drum parts down and on and off like a $149 drum machine allows you to do?
@@epavlyakYou can't mute individual drums. 😂 It would be nice if they did an update that allowed it though
