      I have been wanting the MRO for a while now but I have been busy investing in other projects for a bit so I have not gotten it yet. Right now I’m running the Sig Sauer MSR and it’s a great optic. Easy to acquire my targets and even the though the windows are small, shooting with both eyes open is very easy. I leave mine on 24/7 at level 6 brightness and it still looks bright like day one over the last few months. Great optic and great clarity so as of now it’s my favorite red dot but I’m sure once I replace it with the MRO I will be happier.

    I have both the MRO and the EOtech .. the MRO has an ungodly amount of parallax, forcing you to keep the dot on center of the glass or you'll be off target, significantly. Not the case with the EOtech. In a self defense situation, I want to know that my dot is where my round is going to go... Even if I'm not perfectly center in the window. In a high stress life or death situation, that's important.

      I have the MRO HD and Eotechs, I prefer Eotechs for superior field of view and better parallax.
      MRO is better in pretty much every other category.
      If you want lighter and more slimline/ higher mount, go with MRO
      if you want a bigger field of view, better reticle parallax and a boxier look, Eotech is the optic

    Now that I am into PDWs I struggle with the profile of the EOT. for truck/bag guns.

    Hey, Colt Daniel, I’m on the fence on the MRO. First off I’m not paying $200-$300 for the HD model. Besides, I’m not a fan of the circle dot. So, I’m really digging the standard MRO. All I need is a crisp dot (I dont run magnifiers or NV) and a dot that is bright enough at day light and can be used in low light settings with a weapon light. (Your pistol is awesome btw, I run the Streamlight HL-x too). Do you think the MRO is a good choice for me? Ive read/seen some bad reviews on this optic so I’m a little iffy. Thanks in advance!🇺🇸

    Old video but heres a tip... If you want to cowitness your irons with a 1.93 mount buy 2 small picatinny risers. .25 or .50 inch. Buy whatever fits your budget or your liking. I personally dont run irons. I use offset rmr or 407. All my primary optics have qd mounts so sometimes people see me with a t2 with offset rmr and ask me wth. Then i bust out my leupy 2-7 or acogs and they all are like "ahhhhhhh ic."😂

    I just looked at both of these in the store. The MRO dot looks really crisp compared to the Eotech. The guy in the store said the lights in the showroom mess the Eotech up a little. The Eotech had the 2 dot reticle and you couldn’t even tell there are 2. Is this normal? I’m torn on the red dot vs Eotech. I want the 4 dot Eotech because I may get a magnifier and I always like to see how far I can hit 10 inch targets.

    • @ColtDaniel
      @ColtDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      If the total length of the collapsed brace, with the muzzle device removed is 26 inches or longer then it is considered a “firearm“, not a pistol or SBR. • @shekelwarlocke
      @shekelwarlocke 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ColtDaniel unless the ATF went back on their word again (wouldn't surprise me), OAL is calculated with the firearm in it's shortest possible configuration. Since the brace is not necessary to the function of the gun, it is not taken into account when measuring
      OAL is calculated from the end of your buffer tube to the end of your barrel threads (or end of MD if pinned/welded). ATF never really ganks anyone on AOW charges alone, typically they're just used as sentence enhancers. Just don't want to see you get got for something so dumb.

    IMO, Self defense rifles should have reliable glass to look through without having to worry when you last changed your batteries and for this very reason is why I ONLY run Trijicon MRO’s on all my go to rifles. In addition, EOTECH has had issues on their sights pertaining to when it got certain temperatures which imaging having an EOTECH on your truck gun, forgetting when you last replaced your batteries or if it’s to hot in your truck during hot summer days which throws off your sight pictures but none of these issues with Trijicon MRO’s. I leave my MRO’s on all the time and switch batteries out all at the same time every Christmas this way I know just in case SHTF or WROL hits 🥊

    How would I go about picking the best height for a mro mount

    • @ColtDaniel
      @ColtDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So it is all personal preference. The shortest option is absolute co-witness, so your iron sights will directly line up with your dot. The middle height option is lower 1/3 co witness. So if your dot is in the center of the optic, your iron sites will line up halfway between the dot, and the bottom of the glass. And the tallest option, which I have is no co-witness. So you can’t see the Iron sights through the glass. However, at 6‘2“ it’s the most comfortable height for me to shoot out and keeps my head the most upright. So the lowest option is the least comfortable, but you get absolute co-witness. So you just have to choose what you want. Thanks for watching!

    Hard to put an Eotech on a pistol (?) perhaps...
    The only problem with Eotech on a machine gun is (for me) the battery.
    The acquisition is (for me) better with the point and the circle of Eotech.
    I saw too Aimpoint, Vortex and Sig Romeo : but (for me) they are under Eotech and Trijicon.
    Your video is good. And your point of view (I think...) is the good !!! Hard to make a true difference enter the two. There are 2 very good red point : after... it depend of the arms, the utility and the personal sensation ....... 😉

    So not trying to be a shit or anything, just looking out for your well being.... but you are aware that that vertical grip on the pistol is a felony if you don't have the gun registered as an AOW right? I'm half retarded so I'm fully aware I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the ATF guidance at the moment

      This weapon is no longer like this as things have gotten a bit weird… But not all that long ago if the firearm was 26 inches or more in length it is not a pistol, or an SBR, it is just a “firearm“ in which there was no restrictions for vertical grips.

      @@ColtDaniel The way ATF constantly flip flops on their policy regarding AR pistols has been the factor that prevents me from ever buying one. The writing is on the wall that they are coming after them in full force and I'd rather just not even own one because of it. So ridiculous

    Question, does the back up sight sit below, with ability to actually shoot under the MRO? Thanks, found your channel viewed a couple of your videos great content!

      Looks like he's planning on using it for competitions only or something.
      Otherwise he thinks he's gonna have time to both take the optic off and then flip up his sights in the middle of a gun fight...
      I wouldn't bother with a setup like that.

    The major flaw for the MRO is the parallax. It has one of the worst on the market. The romeo 5 from sig kicks the crap out of it at 1/3 the cost when comparing parallax.
    You won't notice it to much shooting from a nice standing position but get into any funky positions, you could completely miss the target even though the dot is saying it "is on target".

    What's the point of back up irons if it's on the same plane of view? What happens if your red dot optic's glass shatters?

      Quick detach the shit out of all your red dot optics
