The building you start from is Gent Sint Pieters. The main rail station for Ghent. And the surrounding area is pretty spot on.
Antwerpen station area is also good
In English the name of the station is ghent saint pierre
I live in Antwerp myself and I can tell you it's a much more beautiful city than represented in the game. The 'mayor's palace' is actually the Central Station and it's absolutely stunning. You also didn't drive through the the old town as you wouldn't in real life

The building that says Chocolate, houses "Chocolate Nation". Kinda like a museum (but not as boring) about chocolate. ;)

In Ghent they had trolleybuses for a few years, but they stopped with trolleybuses a few years ago, deleted the overhead line and the most buses are exported to Bulgaria for 2nd live. One trolleybus is exported to the city of Arnhem, The Netherlands and it’s in service as a museum bus.

Most of our motorways in Flanders have three lanes. Especially this one from Ghent to Antwerp.
So I guess those Static Cows in the fields may be related to those in Milton Keynes. I loved you interacting with the passengers as well. ✅👏
Astrid square in Antwerp is actually very well done.
I live in Antwerp, couple of things:
1) It mostly looks nothing like the real city. I didn't recognize it at all until you arrived on Astridplein (your arrival). It's a very picturesque city, I promise you!
2) Those lion statues you saw are actually the entrance the city's Chinatown district. (Which is more like a single street)
3) That big building you saw at your arrival is the Antwerp Central Station, regarded as one of the, if not the most beautiful railway station in the world. It looks absolutely disgusting the game though, lmao.
Beer in cologne is called Kölsch, and it's supposed to be small. Most German would say it's not beer 😂

Nice! I love these simulator games because I'm 15 and even though I can't work, I can simulate myself working these jobs. (Even though I don't want to be a trucker because it's a stressful and dangerous job with virtually no money) Its kind of fun to see how it looks for truckers since my dad is a trucker.

Truck (HGV) drivers actually get a very decent amount of salary, but I guess it depends where you live.
The lion statues are Chinese lion statues in real, it marks the beginning of a "Chinatown" street with lots of Asian and Chinese shops. The major office you're reffering to is in fact the central train station of Antwerp.
Been playing this for quite some time and I think on average 22C for the aircon is the sweet spot for passengers
The Lion statues are at the entrance of China town in real life. They somewhat tried to make it represent a small piece of Antwerp. It's a much nicer city in reality though :)

as a person living in Ghent, gotta say i am very impressed, kinda wondering if my street would be in it too
How did you get the TrackIR to work for the game? When I am ingame it just pushes me on the wheel like I'm sitting on it, I have used the tab menu to push me back but it doesnt make any difference.

Re: AI Traffic. Yeah. It's an incredibly difficult problem to solve. In order for you to do it well, you'd have to spend MUCH larger amounts of processing on each individual AI vehicle than, frankly, you spend on the rest of these simulator games.

I just purchased Bus Sim 18 (was on special) 2 days ago. The AI traffic in that game is actually very good. I would say 99% of AI traffic gives way to your bus when pulling out from a bus stop, when turning and etc. There is just that 1% or so of cars that you learn won't give way to you. Yeah, gotta agree about that brightness in this sim, way too bright overall and certainly in some areas more than others.
I live in Antwerp its so nice in game .. the lions thing is the Chinese Street in Antwerp en die big building in front of the last bus stop is the general station .and the chocolate building was a popup chocolate factory :)

You only really get the 1 litre beers in Bavaria in the south of Germany, and that’s mainly for the tourists. Most other places a “large” beer would be 500ml. Germans generally favour quality over quantity when it comes to their beer
One of the passengers had a ticket for Magdeburg Busbahnhof lol I was in Brussels once and did not like it much, I liked eg. Brugge much more. "Winkel" means "shop" in Nederlands / flemish I believe

ive been to antwerp a few years ago, and i remember that it totally doesnt look like this. in real life its way prettier, bigger, i mean BIGGER. its literally huge. TML really sucks at recreating trainstations. amsterdam centraal and rotterdam centraal doesnt look like the real deal at all. i cant wait to go to antwerp next year :D

Maybe it's just an American thing, but people where I live don't move over when you signal to get onto the freeway. People are also extremely aggressive drivers. That AI doesn't seem all unrealistic in some aspects.
In Belgium we all move over if possible.

The sim looks quite nice as well, think i got some of the bus sims but not played it as of yet.
See issues with ETS2 and promods to when it comes to speed, going up the east coast of Sweden the speed changes randomly to 70 when there has been no signs lowering it from 80.

Holy Smoke, this is Gent in Belgium. We speak Dutch here (actualy Flemmish). I can not hear a single word in Dutch, also the names are not Flemmish. Have the developpers ever been to Flanders in Belgium? Very strange.
It is a German game guess they did not have a translator for Dutch, only English perhaps? Or passengers are all tourists :)
On the topic of pizza I recommend to go with thin crust also fun fact pineapple pizza did not come from Hawaii It was invented by the Canadians I think we can Canadian like taking a lot of credit

I really wish someone could come up with a bus/coach sim that had sounds that sounded realistic, as well as having physics that made the vehicle feel like it was actually on the ground and not floating above it. Like OMSI2 but up to date, this might look fairly pretty but looks very poor as a simulator. Not for me. Nice relaxing video though, thanks Squiggle, sorry, Squirrel!

Thin crust all the way. I feel that there's too much dough in deep pan, makes me feel a bit queasy by the end of it. Thin crust doesn't. I know you can put stuff in thicker crusts, but I don't care. If I want, I can roll a thin one up.

and about the 70 km/h speed limit to antwerpen... dispite the satnav telling you you can go 100 km/h.. if the roadsigns say its 70.. stick to 70.. thats how it works IRL.. as i drive there daily with a truck... 70 and 50 km/h is usually during rush hours or when there is a collision.. witch happens a lot there around antwerpen...

Is it me or the scale of things in this game is way off? The camera from a first person perspective seems unrealistically tall and large, while buses seem smaller then they should be?

19:40 fun fact: moving over for merging traffic in Finland is illegal and the punishment is equal to that of running through a stop sign or a red traffic light. It's the merging traffic's responsibility to find their gap and merge in safely. It may be a similar case in other European countries.
Here in the Netherlands we're encouraged to move over for merging traffic, they even teach us in driving school

Why are the static buses still stationary ?? They should be moving around the town picking up passengers at the bus stop and terminals to give the game a more realistic look and feel... While your pulling into bus stops, there should static buses pulling into bus stops as well accommodating passengers to their destinations. Come on Fernbus

LMAO idk what gta he’s playing. Whenever I’m driving somewhere or in a police chase the ai would literally come from the other side of the road and drive on the wrong damn side, or make ridiculous u turns or just turn into me
For a 2021 game the textures and rendering are really subpar at best.
