I just installed Microtail Automatic controller. I used 33 meters of telephone cable (ask for 2 pair telephone cable) and it just worked fine. It costs 10 rupees per meter. The manufacturer suggests that we use thin cable for sensors like 2 pair telephone cable and not thick electrical cables.

First of all its called a probe sensor, it works under a principle of minimum voltage cycling, it can't work under longer length of wireing due to voltage loss & it can only work on hard & salty water not on pure & clean water...
