  • well.. this is my first time stretching my watercolour paper before painting.
I heard about this technique online recently, and I can't believe I wasn't aware of it before, and that it isn't talked about more!
I hope you enjoy the process/hearing my thoughts on this technique :)

Beautiful work! those tiny faces blow my mind with the level of detailing you achieved!

Beutiful work! Nikko G pen nibs are used by a lot of comic book artists if you are looking to get some thinner lines in your work. Scott Fischer who does a lot of Magic the Gathering art has quite a few videos of this particular nib in action.

I’ve watched several of your videos now- your figures and compositions are exceptional. Thank you for sharing your ideas. RE: the paper stretching, I have tried doing this and been pretty miserable with it. but I’ve been getting the paper very wet-dunking in a bathtub for 2-3 minutes, removing, and then taping down. With a large piece of paper, it’s miserable. But I did not use the tape you did, so Im going to try it your way-just sponging generously and then using the water-activated tape. I’ll keep you posted!

This is so gorgeous, try getting some more info on how to work with the gummed tape at your local art store. I remember from school we steamed the tape off, but that was so long ago I do not know exactly how we did it. Love your art work.

It´s similar to the traditional japanese ( nihonga ) or chinese ( gongbi ) painting style.
    I like this ! 🙂
    ( but I don´t like the music 😞 )
This stretching should work with cold pressed and rough watercolour paper, too. ( ??? )

Ah yes! The stretching should work with all types of watercolour paper. Hot-pressed is just my preferred at the moment😊
