I have a fixed stock one it's straight as an arrow, very odd with these folders. In my experience Norinco produces rifles with horrendous fit and finish sometimes but are surprisingly accurate for what they are and outstandingly reliable. I have owned Chinese SKS's, M305(m1a), Type 81 and a type 97. All performed 10/10 reliability, SKS accuracy was meh but all others for being production semi autos the accuracy was 8/10, fit and finish about 6/10 although actual quality of materials and durability 8/10. Very pleased with Norinco products especially ones they designed for their own military and not civilian production models like the M305 or their shitty shotguns.
Why does the rifle have to be on she side of the table? Wouldent it be easier to lay it on the top of the table, then you dont need to prop it up with a tri pod.
the problem is there will be a slight bow on the middle of the glass table bcos of the supports (legs) are at the ends but if you are sure yours is perfectly flat then by all means do it your way.
That's perfectly fine for a scope! Eastern European optics usually have enough adjustment for atleast 3' at 100m. I had a vortex strike eagle on my MR1 and it was out by like 5' at 50m !! but yet the scope still had enough adjustment for it lol. Pretty sure once u have an optic zeroed windage wise, it's good no matter the distance. 200m zero will still be fine at 100m, 50m, 500m etc.
+Gnutzguy Pretty sure when u zero a scope, ur aligning the internals of the optic to that of the barrel. So once u got the windage... it's good for all ranges in a perfect environment. However with the left hand offset of the side mount scopes, the windage line vs the bullet trajectory does make sort of an X pattern, this is simply because the optic sits like
@@gnutzguy yeah I saw that man! Might be a potential birthday present. Had they dialed in the accuracy with some higher quality and tighter tolerances, I think they'd have sold out. The SR is a bit more bark than bite, but it sure is pretty. Especially with the super long flash hider 😎
Hello, I would like to ask, the rear sight and front sight are on the barrel of the gun, and the bent part is the receiver, so why it influence the accuracy?
Chef Nutter I bought one here in Surrey, BC just yesterday! Picked it up right away when I laid my eyes on it at the gun store. Couldn’t take any chances of anyone else grabbing it, it was in the store for only 24 hours. It came with SIX ak mags!!
you dont need a line, just a dot will do but always measure from both sides of the barrel to center the dot. remember, you dont have to be perfect. you will know if its severely bent.
That's a .2 to .35 degree angle (2mm/2.5mm shift to 400mm length) compared to the receiver axis. With iron sights, this cant is not important since the front and rear sights are mounted on the barrel already (so zero deviation there). For a combat rifle produced in the 400k range, meant to be used with irons only, this is not out of the ordinary. It's not visually pleasing but functionally it's not a problem until you want to put optics on, which the Chinese weren't so keen on at the time anyway so why would they care?
you are correct but thats isnt the question. these are sold in canada commercially and at commercial prices $1000 so we would expect each one be inspected and not ship us the severely bent, loose rivets or the mag catch is about to fall off. save those for foreign governments/rebel groups who are paying far less.
just put it between two bricks and stand on it . i was thinking about buying one but dam if they cant get the tr-union and barrel right and get a straight gun then why go through the pain at trying to get it zeroed no sense in it and shit for the price of them you can buy like 4 sks rifles and make them into a better gun just my opinion though
in this case the old adage didnt hold true "you get what you pay for". true, i didnt expect a bent rifle for my $1000 rifle but this rifle came with a premium so i paid it, the premium got rid of the AK itch.
That is not how you straighten a rifle with stamped sheet metal receiver unfortunately. It's usually caused by the front trunion holes being drilled incorrectly and will be expensive to fix. Just hand pick one if you can for straigtness. Cheers from your neighbors to the south, glad you lot finally got something a little closer to an AK than a VZ58.
Sure, if you got em but most of us don't. That's they requested I use a straight edge and send them pics showing the deviation on the ruler. Question, any issue taking pics of the laser on steel ruler?
Okay, so the barrel isn't bent, just the stamped steel. The receiver will matter for scope mounting, but you could fix that, but you can't expect perfection with any sort of military esque weapon from a place such as China. If they were perfect, it would cost twice as much. I appreciate your video, but you could have been more clear in how the deviation matters when you were measuring it so as not to deceive or confuse those watching.
1. the T97 is well built. its also from china and its not twice the price. 2. deceived and confused? lol. this video been up for 4.5 years and you are the first to have problem understanding. perhaps, rather than talking, please show us how a video should be made. thanking you in advance.
you dont know what you are talking about cos this is not a CLONE, it has exterior resemblance but no part is identical or interchangeable with another gun. perhaps, you should check the definition of a clone.
The best way to measure for deviation of this piece of shit chinese garbage is to not buy one, save your money buy a tavor x95 while you still can trust me. This rifle costs about $300 American to produce and ship, while you can expect to pay $1800 right now, biggest rip off currently in the Canadian market.
lol but but ... this is closes to an AK47 cos AK are banned in canada. we pay C$1200. i have X95 and also a short barrel. they are twice the price and they are not perfectly designed. see my vids
Bought type 81 in 2024, still coming out bent...
yup, the only T81 that hasnt reported bent is the LMG.

Those are cool rifles. They look like a combo of AKM and VZ58 features.
More like akm/sks.
Wouldn't it be easier to use a steel straight edge on the magnets so you don't have to hold the rifle up?
Of cos, if you have a long steel edge but in most cases, it would be wood, glass or stone counter top.
Mine is pretty bent… is it worth adding a red dot? I have the side mount from TI
red dot id fine if you mount it on the handguard (sigmacocanada) . you can use TI side mount but you may need to use shims.
@@gnutzguy what would you use for shims? Between the receiver and the mounting plate?
yup.
Insanity. I want one of these but it's so hard to commit knowing how bad they are. I hope the newer ones are better!
the lmg and the sr are better.
@@gnutzguy very glad to hear. Thank you. I learn so much from you!
ya welcome. the SR is on sale for $999. i paid $1500

Can you make a video about how the bolt release work . No one did that before
i covered the BHO in general in this vid, th-cam.com/video/eRsLq8kNr2o/w-d-xo.html
@@gnutzguy oh thanks
I have 1.56 inch deviation, is it worth putting a scope on. I have no interest in shooting past 100m anyways.
its fine but go LVPO scope or red dot.
Hello, I would like to ask, the rear sight and front sight are on the barrel of the gun, and the bent part is the receiver, so why it influence the accuracy?
It's doesn't till a scope is mounted on the receiver
Off topic, but are the mags riveted or welded?
it was discreetly riveted, not like vz58 mag with glaring aluminum rivets.
Is the receiver even perfectly the same from front to back where you placed your magnets?
Yup, the receiver is straight and level to the barrel. The only issue is the barrel bends to the right.
Are these banned now or just hard ot find?
bcos its not banned, they became more valuable and hard to find.

But I hear more rifles coming in early next year, keep fingers cross.
Gnutzguy What is the typical retail price that Type 81’s go for here in Canada?
Fifth Beatle you lucked out. I just came from that store and they mentioned they just sold the one they had on consignment. Enjoy!
How do you paint the ligns on the barrel so that they are straight?
you dont need a line, just a dot will do but always measure from both sides of the barrel to center the dot. remember, you dont have to be perfect. you will know if its severely bent.
@@gnutzguy many many thanks my friend, I really appreciate it. God bless you
Are fixed stock T81s less prone to these bent issues?
yes on the blonde wood. yet to hear about the new red wood,
@@gnutzguy i ordered the new red wood but i forgot if this issue was resolved. thanks for the reply!
@@gnutzguy do you know about the red fixed stock yet? I want to pick one up next batch
ryan: i see you havent subscribe to my channel yet, if you did you would been notified of my new vid that answers your question, lol.
Hopefully they will come out with some Tactical Poly stocks and accessories.. bubba what's up?
its all a numbers game, there isnt many in the western world so developing a new stock just for couple of thousand rifles is risky venture at best.
Apparently its common for these to be bent
not according to them, they said only a handful. lol.
Hopefully new lmg models will not have a curve
no reports so far.
Do u wanna to sell it? I live in canada. Thx
sorry, not for sale.
Bizarre that they would sell bent rifles and suckers would buy them.
cant speak for others but my reason is, this is as close to having an ak47. ak are banned in canada.
